As the old one is nearly full!

All & any vaping chat welcome.

No question is too daft to ask. We've all been there at the start of vaping in the minefield that it is.

Only rule is: No Willy Waving!!

That's great Snowy. I am a little further down the road from you. I vape like a demon and occasionally have a cigarette but they are not what I crave anymore.

I posted up thread about my istick 20 w and my frustrations with it. Moved on to the 30w, sooo much better. My preeccciiiioooouuusssss

I remind myself of the old men of my youth, contented puffing away, slip it in and out of my pocket. Thanks to all on this thread for the direct & indirect support and advice

7Days · 19/01/2016 22:51

puffing away on a pipe, that should be.

Apologies to all those who have a more sophisticated and glamourous vision of vaping. It is no doubt true for you but it's the flat cap and trousers held up with baling twine that adds the finishing touch

magimedi · 19/01/2016 22:55

So odd you said that about a pipe. I've just been visiting my adult DS (he's mid 30's) & he told me that me & my 'precious' reminded him of his Dad & dad's pipe (long given up). Grin

Hi all!
Four months now! Without a single stinky.
Just had my first winter cold and, yay, no cough. No 'it's gone down onto my chest', no fetching up of goo, no carrying spare undies for the inevitable 'leak' after a coughing fit, no visit to the doctor to grovel for antibiotics, no requests to asthmatic mates for a spare Ventolin. You know my 35 years of heavy smoking had me in a bad way!
So now I am moving on a little - my latest order is two thirds 12mg, one third 18mg. I am going to slowly begin bringing down the nicotine. I still have 16 months till my 50th which is when I'd like to be nicotine-free so these next couple of months will be a relaxed adjustment to the next level down. I'll be swapping tanks a lot - using the 18 at stressful times, dropping to 12 during relaxing times, in practice I expect this to be 18mg 6-9am, 12 during the day, back to 18 between 4 and 7 then down to 12mg for the rest of the day. We shall see what happens...
I still don't discuss it with smokers, I remember how I felt when other people kept going on at me about how wonderful it was to stop!

magimedi · 06/02/2016 09:55

Well done, Total.

I used to have colds that sounded just like yours & since quitting (3.5 years now) & vaping I find exactly the same. And I swear I have had fewer colds.

Arrrgghhhhh, what with all the vaping threads at the moment?!! I need to ignore them and the shite people spout about vaping 😡😡

BeezerBubble · 09/02/2016 21:01

Hopefully shite well and truly addressed soon, Dr Michael Mosley is making a documentary for Horizon on the BBC about ecigs. Know he's looking at how good they are at helping folk quit, fingers crossed he covers some of the media scares too.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 09/02/2016 21:23

Oh brilliant. He did one a while ago which was very positive.

Well done Total, that's fantastic Flowers

BeezerBubble · 10/02/2016 12:01

Preaching to the converted no doubt but ASH have just published new statement on ecigs (Feb 2016) , not surprisingly very positive, no mention of popcorn.

tshirtsuntan · 17/02/2016 20:59

Hi all, I posted in January having stopped fags and started vaping on Christmas eve, just popped back to say cheers, thanks for the advice. Not smoked at all (despite a weekend smoking partner Grin) and feeling so much better health wise and financially, wish I'd done it years ago....Thanks (lurked for ages too Smile)

magimedi · 18/02/2016 13:10

Fantastic news, tshirts. Well done you!

Hi all, feel like I can finally come over to this thread and say I'm a vaping viper Grin

I've been vaping for 31 days and stinky free for 29 days. I've not had any real cravings for a stinky but having a 10min sit down with a book and my e-cig is not quite the same...that's the bit I miss (if that makes sense) but I don't miss it enough to go back to stinkies!

I had a small panic last weekend as I gave my remaining tobacco to my MIL, it just made everything seem more final but I hadn't been tempted to use it so no point keeping it.

I'm not really feeling any difference in health yet but we've all had stinking colds so I'm OK with that, I have noticed I'm sleeping better and I don't stink anymore which are obviously very welcome changes indeed lol.

I'm looking in to ordering from fasttech, which I know a few of you have used, but have read some awful reviews, is it really as bad as some people have said? Are there certain things I need to avoid?

Thanks for any help Smile

runningbug123 · 13/03/2016 11:06

First time poster on here.

Still smoking 1/2 a day but hope to cut the cord soon. I've found I have my last one 1oclock so if I brush my teeth after I'm not tempted at all.

Can't believe how far I've come as only started as everyone around me started vaping and didn't have intentions of quitting completely. I've got a good set up now and it's so much better.

Everyone around me has now started smoking again and I'm proud of myself.

This may give you a laugh. I have the mini nautilus and topped up with juice yesterday put it all back together and was getting a rubbish vape on it.
So I took it all apart and changed the coil cleaned it all out and it was doing the same. Turns out when I screw/unscrew it the air holes come out of alinment. I didn't need a new coil I just needed to marry the holes up.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 13/03/2016 11:53

Well done both of you! Flowers

I've had very good experiences with Fasttech. If they say something is authentic then it is, otherwise it'll be listed as '[brand name] style' - some of these are great but some are shit, so always read the reviews and discussions. It takes a long time for stuff to arrive but I've never had any problems.

magimedi · 13/03/2016 12:02

Well done both of you!

running the first time I ever filled up a vape I poured the liquid straight through onto the table!

1/2 is great - count the fags you haven't smoked.

Thank you Magi, Polter and Plenty and a well done to you runningbug.

And thanks for the info, I think it's just going to be one of those sites where you'll hear more bad than good on it when reading reviews hence why I asked you lovely people, thanks again much appreciated Smile

NoahVale · 19/03/2016 19:03
