Dss is due over this weekend, he is a grumpy teen but more than that, rude & has absolutely no table manners. Quite frankly it puts me off my food.

My bday is sunday, we usually take him home the sunday after dinner meaning he will eat with us, but i simply dont want him there.

We cant go after we drop him as we have a toddler so she needs to be in bed at a decent time. Also for that reason cannot say just me & dh (no babysitters at all)

Please can someone give me a valid excuse to get out of him coming

Who are you, the police?

Why would the police care?

@Reugny I didn't realise the statute of limitations on threads was a week, is that a self-enforced rule of yours?

Even if so, I don't think there's ever a time 'too late' to tell someone they're behaving with absolute cruelty to a child.

If you're okay with that, then that's down to you.

And as @pristinesurfacesGBTD said, others have invested time and would like an update.

Why would the police care?

Why would anyone care?

Apologies i only just got the notifications.

The update was, i felt bad & he came along. Started off ok he was a bit moody but thats normal.
We went to an Indian restaurant, the waiter had to ask him 3 times what he wanted as he mumbles. He then loudly said the order in slow motion which was so embarrassing and rude, then as the waiter was leaving he said if they can't understand english why come here!!

Never again

He sounds horrible, why should anyone have to socialise with this toxic twat. Step back and Let his father spend time with him until he grows up

hourbyhour101 · 03/02/2023 11:43

@decis lovely. He sounds like a Brillant human and a tad racist tbh.

I would be like "we came here because it's my birthday and the world doesn't evolve around you. " And then I would have made him apologise to the waiter.

Before anyone jumps me I would say this to my children/nieces and nephews or anyone that acted this badly.

There really isn't a excuse for behaving like this in decent society tbh.

Floofydawg · 04/02/2023 11:38

Lesson learnt - don't take him out again.

Seriously? I’d love to know what was said to him about such a vile comment. To be honest, if I was his parent I’d have taken him home at that point, although I can see it’s tough not to ruin the dinner.

Is you DH not mortified?

If he doesn’t learn some manners now, he’s going to be a deeply unpleasant adult, who will wonder why he gets ignored, uninvited, dumped, dropped by friends, or even duffed up.
