Is this cheeky or standard?

Hi, I have name changed as I've but moaned about this in real life and don't want it linked to my mumsnet moaning!

DSC's mum has asked if she can drop them off at 8:00pm tomorrow instead of 4pm as previously agreed, but she is still waning DH to give them their dinner. Surely whoever they are with at dinner time feeds them? They'll be so hungry or pester mum for a snack so not be hungry.

OP why doesn't your partner just say to his ex wife "yes we'll feed them, thats no problem - but won't they be really hungry by then? Are you sure it wouldn't be better for them to eat at 5 as normal?"

Yeah he could have done. He just said yeah sure though. Anyway they are "starving" but tbh they always are saying their hungry. Pizza in oven.

Fancy not giving your kids any dinner at dinnertime because it's not your turn 🙁

I know.

Imagine being that petty re your own children.

Not ok. Our kids need regular feeding, and the idea they're not fed by 8pm is unthinkable. If they've been with her all day, it's up to her to feed them.

Time for a (another?) chat with him about boundaries.

I don't think so. We'll happily feed them if it happens again. Don't believe in letting kids go hungry for too long just for the sake of principle. Just thought mum was being a bit shit to insist on it and not feed them dinner herself. But I see now some people just feed their kids late as standard.
