It really is all very unfair, I suppose they can't please everyone but the system at the moment just makes the new family bitter and resentful - with good reason. I'm sure they could come up with something better

Squirrel did the skids come on Wednesday? If so how did it go?

Squirrel3 · 03/03/2006 10:11

Yes Naam, the stepkids did come wednesday, thats probably why I got drunk! Grin

NotActuallyAMum · 03/03/2006 10:39

Squirrel3 · 03/03/2006 10:46

I can't remember? Wink

I was a bit drunk so it didn't seem to bad...

I may have found a new way of being a contented stepmum, just make sure your drunk, it doesn't seem half as bad, its quite a laugh actualy! Wink

I'm a mean mother. I should be sacked fromthe position. I just made DD run home as I had left the computer on at home and DP was due in at any point. I told her that we had to get home beofre the big black cloud started to rain. Her little legs were about to cave in but I made her keep running. How horrible Am I

NotActuallyAMum · 03/03/2006 16:14

True squirrel Grin

I'll be off in 15 minutes so I'll see you all later. Don't know about 7, that may be a bit early for me but I should be on for half past

Grin
workingmumnhs · 03/03/2006 18:48

Right, early as ever. I'm here with my bottle(or two)of wine.

NotActuallyAMum · 03/03/2006 19:31

I'm here Grin

Haven't decided what I'm having to drink yet. Got pernod and cider, hmmmm decisions...

workingmumnhs · 03/03/2006 19:38

how long till the others arrive do youthink. I'm about to chuck my printer out of the nearest window. It keeps taking ALL the paper thru at once and makes a HORRIBLE noise

workingmumnhs · 03/03/2006 19:41

Pernod is a good choice but I was sick after drinking a whole bottle of Raki , turkish version, and have gone of it.

NotActuallyAMum · 03/03/2006 19:45

Oooohhh Raki is lovely! And Ouze, the Greek version

Bet Squirrel won't be long, tarantula said she'd be here about 9. Don't know who else is joining us

Still haven't had a drink, I'm slipping....

Have you tried turning the printer off then back on again? I always try that at work if anything plays me up

NotActuallyAMum · 03/03/2006 19:46

Ouze?? Ouze???? I meant Ouzo of course!!

And that's before I've had a drink Grin

workingmumnhs · 03/03/2006 19:47

printer has been sent to COvnetry. DOn't know how to turn it off it is plugged into a usb port

Get the pernod out woman.

NotActuallyAMum · 03/03/2006 19:52

Oh 'eck - USB port?? Sounds technical...

OK I'm away - first pernod and lemonade is in my hand

workingmumnhs · 03/03/2006 19:54

great, nearly finished first wine. Just watching stars in fast cars on bbc1

Will mellor would get it. TWICE!

NotActuallyAMum · 03/03/2006 19:57

We've got Sky Sports on - match kicks off soon, they've had lots of snow in Sheffield by the look of the pitch

Is your dd in bed?

workingmumnhs · 03/03/2006 19:59

oh yeah, she went in straight after her bath. Read the classic story, GREEN EGGS AND HAM. she loved it. She told me a joke before which she thought was hilarious.

"Why was the bottle of juice in a shoe?..........
SO it could stand up." I had to laugh because it was SSOOOO bad

workingmumnhs · 03/03/2006 20:01

are the step kids down this weekend

NotActuallyAMum · 03/03/2006 20:06

No, DP is on nights till next Thursday. I only have one dsd - she's 13. We took her to the England match at Anfield on Wednesday night. Do you actually live in Liverpool?

Your dd is good going straight to bed, bless her

Just caught DP out - looked at the history on the computer and he's been looking at women on loaded magazine!!! Suitable punishment anyone???

workingmumnhs · 03/03/2006 20:12

I live in the Wirral. Which is the other side of the River Mersey. Any punishment you give him would be suitable as he should have erased the history. Think of it this way. If any of the women from the Loaded magazine met him would you really have any competition. Nothing against your DP but would they be interested.

NotActuallyAMum · 03/03/2006 20:18

He wouldn't know how to delete the history Grin

Only kidding anyway - he can look all he wants as long as that's all he does. If he ever did any more than that he'd get a Bobbit snip!! Grin But I know he wouldn't

I didn't think you actually lived in Liverpool itself. We got quite a surprise when we went to Anfield, most of the houses around the football ground are boarded up with steel sheets. We were a bit worried about parking the car

workingmumnhs · 03/03/2006 20:20

Welcome to Anfield and Everton. I did my district nurse and helath visitor placements around Everton and Anfield. I didn't realise what a dive it is either. I was glad I was with the distric nurse. They don't acttack the hand that feeds them (I'm making them sound like a pack of hounds don't I)
