sleepytinkerbell · 27/02/2006 19:45

thank you!!!! my god it helps to hear others say stuff you hear. I dont think i quite realised how my dskids reaching teendoom has hit me and isolated me from my mates who seem to think im just moaning about my lot and after all it was my choice etc etc, but thanks i've so so so turned into my mother too which is kinda freaky but i love em all really!!! Wink

workingmumnhs · 27/02/2006 22:22

Sorry I'm very late, Hello and Welcome SleepyTinkerbell. We are all nuts but absolutely lovely.

Have to take DD tothe dentist tomorrow and every other time she refuses to open her mouth and let the dentist see them. He just looks at me as if to say, "Have you no control over that child woman" Any ideas of how to get her to comply. Bribing her with sweetsisn't appropriate in this situation I don't thing

sleepytinkerbell · 28/02/2006 08:26

im really really weak and resort to bribery at every cornerBlush first attack was always ....if you do.... then afterwards we can go to the newsagent and you can choose a little ones magazine (comic) now most of the time we have a jar of beautiful marbles that my son earns for all sorts of good behaviour and when he has 10 or 20 we swap them in for a toy or a book or whatever i have recklessly bought for him that he really doesnt need and that now at least he is learning to earn stuff instead of being continually spoilt by me!!!! I have to say it was my dps idea and i really didnt think it would work and it really does, its lasted longer than stickers and I think he really really feels the loss when occassionally we take one away for bad behaviour. Anyway I hope it gives you some ideas and the visit isnt too stressful for you.

workingmumnhs · 28/02/2006 08:34

I could get her a magazine I suppose. She'll get a sticker of the nurse for being cute so that isn't an incentive. The marble jar sounds really clever. Mind if I try it?

Is the night in this Friday?
I get easily confused?

NotActuallyAMum · 28/02/2006 08:44

Hello all Smile

Yes it's this Friday workingmum - I need to make the very important decision of what I'm going to buy to drink. Hmmmmmm decisions, decisions Grin For the newest ladies - we're having a virtual girls night in on Friday on here, do join us if you can Grin

Marble jar does sound like a good idea - can't help you personally though on that one, me not having any children and all that....

How are we all today?

workingmumnhs · 28/02/2006 09:40

There was no problem at all. She mumbled something about Aunty Mabel and Pippin going to the dentist and just jumped into the chair

workingmumnhs · 28/02/2006 09:43

I think i'll stick to my trusty bottle of wine, maybe splash out to some brandy, oh the decisions

Squirrel3 · 28/02/2006 11:11

Hello does anybody fancy sitting down with a mid morning \link{http://images.evalu8.org/images/bara-brith-and-cuppa280.JPG\snack} and listening to the dream I had last night?

Well, we were all going camping together and we had arrived in the camp site and we could choose where we pitched our tents. Naam really really wanted to pitch our tent under a tree, despite Tarantula and I telling her that although it was picturesque, it wasn’t practical, e.g. if it rained we would have the splattering of the rain and the drips of the tree hitting the tent. (Naam, why were you being difficult?), anyway to preserve the peace (and it was sunny) we decided to start pitching out tent in this spot.

Then we noticed the \link{http://users.forthnet.gr/ath/kkamaras/fat_people.jpg\neighbours} all leering at us, so we hurriedly packed up the tent again and pitched somewhere else.

Then we went to the \link{http://samoens.net-pack.info/sites/0008/uploads/activit%E9s_%E9t%E9/piscine.gif\swimming pool} with all of the kids (up until then they hadn’t even figured in my dream), there were so many of us. The kids had great fun (sorry Naam, but dss took a liking to your dsd), then we went back to the tent which was somehow \link{http://www.vrmlworlds.com/worlds/doctorwho/tardis-scene/tardis.jpg\Tardis} like and had grown lots of rooms inside and all of the kids went to bed and we all got really drunk and made \link{http://www.petersenicecream.com/menuimages/strawpancakes.jpg\pancakes with strawberries and ice-cream.}

I wonder what a shrink would make of it?...

Probably that I spend too much time on here! Grin

I think that the pancakes and alcohol both sound very nice. mmmmmmm am getting hungry now despite having a grapefruit and a big bowl of apple and blackberry crumble for brekkie (Its technically allowed cos its fruit and there is oats in the crumble Grin)

tarantula · 28/02/2006 11:22

oooo a NSC wedding How romantic Grin Shall I go buy a hat now?

Squirrel3 · 28/02/2006 11:22

How is it you stay so slim then if you eat pudding for brekkie?

Ahhh, it must be all of that cycling.

OP posts:
tarantula · 28/02/2006 11:24

I make the crumble with mostly oats and not too much sugar Grin and lots of fruit so its probably healthier than alot of cereals. Well thats my take on it anyway Grin

Squirrel3 · 28/02/2006 11:28

I've just realised, its pancake day today! Grin

I've got stawberries, I've got ice-cream! Grin

Oh what a laugh...

How are you feeling today squirrel? I was supposed to be "ill" today wasn't I? But dsd said at the weekend how much she was looking forward to us all going to an England match together so that and the fact that they'll probably get lost if I don't go....too bloody soft me. I should have stuck to my guns from the start and said no I don't want to go. Never mind, I'll probably enjoy it once I get there. Just means I'll be absolutely shattered on Thursday!

tarantula · 28/02/2006 11:32

OP posts:
tarantula · 28/02/2006 11:41

dp uses 4 oz flour, 1/2 pint milk and an egg. whisk and leave in fridge for 1/2 hour if poss. Use a very hot pan with a miniscule amount of oil and dont put too much bater in.

I oth use 3 handfulls oats soaked in milk and egg and tsp sugar fro 15 mins then add 2 handfulls sr flour. Mix and use straight away to make small thick scotch pancakes. very hott pan needed also.

Squirrel3 · 28/02/2006 11:43

Tarantula, I might try making them your way, they sound lovely. Smile
