sleepytinkerbell, I can def relate to the 'them' and 'us' feeling, sorry no advice but knowing that its a normal feeling helps and chatting/venting on here is great therapy. Grin

thanks for the warm welcome and the messages so far, I have to say I am a seasoned step mum this time i've been at for almost 9 years so as hard as it sounds ..... It doesnt seem to get any easier. I did it all many years ago for 4 year but that time didnt have the mix of my own in pot. I have to say i just feel so so guilty about the flesh and blood thing after all these years, i guess i really kidded myself that they were like my own but it seems obvious that that cant always be the case anyone want to tell me there weekends antics then?

tarantula · 27/02/2006 15:52

PMSL at you 2 and Nessie. So what does she look like then? eh

tarantula · 27/02/2006 15:56

Hi STB welcometo the Nutty Club Ive been a s/mum for 12 odd years now. that makes me feel sooooo old. Am very lucky tho that I get on ok with BM.

Squirrel3 · 27/02/2006 15:59

Well tarantula, she was in the distance and we only saw her head but I think she looked like \link{http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~kgk/misc/bf_arthur2.jpg\this} it's a shame that the guy in the pic needs some new glasses though, he doesn't seem to realise she is there!

STB, I've been a stepmum for 5 years and it seems to go in phases, sometimes we all get on, sometimes we do.

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 27/02/2006 16:05

Doh! I mean sometimes we do get on, sometimes we don't! Blush

Too busy thinking about Nessie!

HI STB - I'm almost a virgin here too !! but alas not in the step mum stakes DSS is 17 and DD is 3 - By God what a heady mix!! Like the others say there will always be times of a "mine and his" feeling .... as to weekend antics - Loads of Rugby - Bath won, England didn't and yeeehaa Ireland did !! And all the general shouting at various teenagers (DSS, girlfriend, mate and his girlfriend) that mess doesn't clear itself you know ... and please keep the noise down as it's 10.30pm and a small child is asleep upstairs ( mind you a small nuclear explosion wouldn't get her out of the land of nod on most occassions) but that's not the point is it !! I have definitely turned in to my mother .... !!!!

SiobhanW · 27/02/2006 16:37

Do we actually think Nessie is a girl ??? I only ask as (s)he frankly displays male qualities - can't bloody find them when you need them, go missing for ages, never do what they ought, elusive to the point of extinction ... please ... if it were a girl she'd be multi tasking like mad - a few back flips as soon a camera is around, clean up the loch shore - well you don't want the visitors to think it's a sty do you accommodating and friendly ...Smile

NotActuallyAMum · 27/02/2006 16:40

lol at turning into mother Grin

My weekend was wonderful - just went too quick!! It was my DPs birthday on Saturday, we went to watch his football team, who won for once Grin then to a Mexican restaurant and in a hotel overnight. It was all lovely but please don't ask me what I had to eat cos I've no idea Grin

Oh and I put the Loch Ness webcam on to show DP on Friday night and felt a complete fool cos it was dark Blush

Now I'm going to spend the next 12 months reminding him that this is his last year of being 30-something - much to his disgust Grin

NotActuallyAMum · 27/02/2006 16:43

Or Nessie could be gay???

tarantula · 27/02/2006 16:52

PMSL at the webcam at night Grin

Squirrel3 · 27/02/2006 16:54

Nope, she has got to be female because she actually reads the \link{http://library.thinkquest.org/TQ0311544/Loch%20Ness.htm\road signs/directions!}

OP posts:
SiobhanW · 27/02/2006 16:57

True - but I'm thinking there may be some truth in the gay rumour .... has it been tested it on soft furnishings and show tunes yet ??!!
