I'm half blonde with my highlights, but my natural colour isn't exactly dark - I'd call it dark blonde but I think I probably invented that colour

I can't keep this morning either - can you imagine what it's going to be like in 3 weeks time when we're all pi$$ed?

workingmumnhs · 10/02/2006 10:23

A girl DP used to work with did that. She had a few blonde streaks and then dyed then different colours, Red for valentines day and Rednose day and Green for ST patricks day. Her nornal colour was blue tho. I admired her sense of individuality. Wanted to do it but don't thing it would go down well in the hospital

NotActuallyAMum · 10/02/2006 10:25

Well I found 6 grey hairs last weekend!! DP was in big trouble - totally his fault because of all the stress I've had since I met him, boy did he get a bollocking!!

Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 10:27

NAAM, they are not grey hairs, they are just natural highlights! lol

I really must get off here, do some housework and get ready for work, but I am glued to the chair for some reason.

NotActuallyAMum · 10/02/2006 10:30

He said "you can't see them" I said "I can bloody see them!"

I pulled them out with my tweezers

Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 10:31

Oh No! don't do that, 10 will grow back in their place!!!!

OP posts:
tarantula · 10/02/2006 10:34

lol that what my mum says Squirrel. Hasnt happened to me yet

NotActuallyAMum · 10/02/2006 10:35

Ooooohhhhh noooooooooooo don't tell me that

Anyone want to guess how much work I've done today

tarantula · 10/02/2006 10:50

Probably about the sme amount as I have I'd guess

tarantula · 10/02/2006 10:51

what do you think dp will say if I ring him up and ask him to sort out Christmas with BM today

Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 10:57

The BM here wants to know the details of whats happening at christmas five years in advance!!!

Surely nobody can be that organised?!

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 11:01

She wants to know when we are having them in the Summer this year and where we are going, dp doesn't even think about where we are going until a couple of days before we go!

Last year we didn't decide where we were going until the day we set out, we just packed the camping stuff and went!!!!

OP posts:
tarantula · 10/02/2006 11:16

Now the Christmas thing I could cope with cos I like to know what is happening cos flying home at christmas is expensive and i need to book it NOW. Last year he didnt sort anything out and so I said 'f you then If you cant be bothered I'll book for us to go home' Was really ped off with him cos dss wanted us to be here for Christmas but as nothign was organised with BM or anythign I could see us being on our own over christmas and I didnt want that.

Summer holidays are different tho cos its not somethign we need to book in advance and like you we jsut pack and go (well I do check out train times etc in advance but not taht far in advance)

NotActuallyAMum · 10/02/2006 11:26

We've already got summer holiday sorted - I like to get organised and we wanted my brothers caravan so had to get it booked or we wouldn't have got it. Not too bothered about Christmas yet we'll sort that nearer the time. If I were you though tarantula I would mention it in your position otherwise you could end up with a repeat of last year

Squirrel - 5 years in advance?? You are joking aren't you?

tarantula · 10/02/2006 11:32

Jsut rang him adn he went 'Christmas!!!!!!!!! But its February and I'm jsut recovering from last year' so I explained that I was quite happy to go for a week in Jan (for dd's birthday) rather than 2 weeks at Xmas provided that we got things arranged with BM now. So here's hoping he talks to BM today. the word piss up nad brewery come to mind with both of them mind. Might just go arrange it all with dss and his nan That way we'll get things sorted

NotActuallyAMum · 10/02/2006 11:42

lol tarantula

Think the word "organisation" means nothing to all men tbh. Us women are usually more organised though, so surprised at BM - but on second thoughts she is a BM after all....

tarantula · 10/02/2006 12:03

Shes just one of these kinda people. Never does anything unless she has to and likes everyone else to arrange everything. She's great about changing arrangements tho if we ahve any problems or if I have a family invasion (like when my parents and 3 of my sisters and one of their bfs all came over to my 2 up 2down) etc etc so cant complain at ALL about that.

But this IS somethign I need to knwo about and also thnk its very important for dss to know whats happening too as hes getting older now and growing up and soon wont really be into the whole Christmas thing.

NotActuallyAMum · 10/02/2006 12:59

She likes everyone else to arrange things eh??? Wouldn't we all - nice if you can get away with it

Agree your dss may not be into the Christmas things for much longer - apart from being given presents of course!

workingmumnhs · 10/02/2006 15:55

Summer is sorted this year, We are going to Bulgaria and taking DSD with us this year. Lokking forward to it already. I'll organise Christmas whenI get back. Already bought my bikinis in. I like to spread the cost over a few months rather than pay out a fortune three weeks before we go(Which is how DP does things)

NotActuallyAMum · 10/02/2006 16:15

I agree workingmum, that's part of the reason I like to get organised - so that I can sort the finances too. Otherwise all of a sudden you're going on holiday in 2 weeks and you've no spending money and no clothes!!

Had a really busy afternoon - just typed out a document 7.5 A4 pages long in 1.5 hours! No way was I staying behind after half 4 to finish it off

workingmumnhs · 10/02/2006 16:19

OMG

Bet you can type a little faster than me then (mere 40 wpm)

tarantula · 10/02/2006 16:19

yeah thats the way I feel about xmas cos if I book our flights now we can get them cheap but if I wait even a month or so they will sky rocket. Summer hols are more free andeasy for us as we dont tend to do 'booked 'holidays IYKWIM we jsut go camping and that kinda thing.

tarantula · 10/02/2006 16:20

and thats really impressive typing NAAM not like mine

NotActuallyAMum · 10/02/2006 16:24

DP is waiting at home for me with a vodka and orange - nothing was going to keep me from that

I'm away now - won't be on over the weekend cos my laptop is in the laptop hospital (again!!)

Have a good one everybody
