Lol, well you are right of course you make me sound like Barbie!!!! PMSL

My hair isn't long though, just below my shoulders, and I'm 5ft 2in. I might even dye my hair red this weekend (not red red more a gingery red, it sounds awful but I've done it before and it looks really nice), dp likes it like that, more so than my natural blonde.

Yes that really is sad

But as Squirrel said, when they get older they will realise that it was their mum who caused problems when there really shouldn't have been any. But again, I know that doesn't help you for now

Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 09:52

Tarantula, is that why your hair is so long and lovely?

bm3sm2 · 10/02/2006 09:53

ok really am off now, thanks for listening again, wasted enough energy on it today so off to get on with things. Be back later x

NotActuallyAMum · 10/02/2006 09:54

Squirrel I'm 5'2" as well!! I quite like being small though - and it means I can wear very high heels

tarantula I'd rather go to the dentist than the hairdresser too - people think I'm barmy when I say that, really glad I'm not the only one

Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 09:56

Gosh all of them post Xed didn't they?

bm3sm2, they will grow up and realise what is going on, just keep on being there for the kids and they will realise it one day. (trust me I am a wise old granny)

Yes we are all busy posting today aren't we

bm3sm2 no need to thank us, that's what we're here for - hope you're feeling better later

workingmumnhs · 10/02/2006 09:59

Good morning everyone.
BM3SM2, I know it is easier to say than do but I really wouldn't let it get you wound up. Children are VERY perceptive. They will see that you are the better person and make there own opinions on grown ups.
When i first met DP,DSD's BM was a really cow. She let the age gap get to her. (The fact that DP described me to her as "a 22yr old nurse" didn't actually help.) DSD was 6 at the time and very impressionable. I got on well with her. (as I normally do with children of that age)I'd be fien with her one weekend and then the next time she came down she'd be very shy and withdrawn as if BM had said something to her (At 6,you believe everything your mum says) A few weeks later I found out that BM had told DSD that "If you speak to Jenni then you are being naughty"
We had a play fight once and she got a TINY cut on her finger (we are talking microscopic)OMG the fuss that woman created. "Waht is she doing hurting my daughter, She is meant to be a nurse, she is not meant to hurt people."
It upset DP but I have the attitude thatif you don't like me then I'll find someone who does. It isn't a problem. I knew my relationship with Dp and DSD was strong enough and it was just a matter of time before BM accepted that. When she met her new husband and had two children of their own she has calmed down. Still think she is a bit weird tho.
You are right tho, problems don't get easier. You just find a new way of coping with them. You look back in six months or so and laugh at why you found then so complicated.

Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 10:03

I hate hairdressers too, my hair is very curly (naturally) but I like it straight so I straighten my hair by blow drying and straightners, but do you think I have found a hairdresser who can tame my hair? They usually give up, I have even shown a hairdresser how to straighten my hair, mind you at least she asked me how I do it, the others just get frustrated and get a bit rough with my hair until I say "its ok, just leave it, I'll do it when I get home!" I always come out looking worse than when I went in if I let them wash my hair!

cant keep up with all the postings But my mental picture of Squirel is similar to your Naam. Great mind think alike eh. I am skinny and have long straight brown hair dunno about the beautiful bit tho, the fangs take away from my beauty I think. Heres a lovely piccy of me and himself

Who's Kiefer Sutherland then? Neverheard of him. Must go look him up.

Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 10:05

How many different coversations have we got going at the same time on here today?

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 10:06

Why can't I have long straight dark hair?

OP posts:
workingmumnhs · 10/02/2006 10:07

I have long dark brown hair that lokks a bit witch like until my trusty Nicky Clarke straighners come into play

Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 10:08

Humph!

OP posts:
workingmumnhs · 10/02/2006 10:09

but my sister have very curly, frizzy hair. Even straigtners can't take the bushiness out. It's weird how two people from the same parents can be SO different

tarantula · 10/02/2006 10:10

ooooo maybe i'll do mine at the weekend too then if you are Squirrel. I found an old dye in the cupboard from YEARS ago. Its purple!!!!! .

workingmumnhs · 10/02/2006 10:10

FOrgive me

workingmumnhs · 10/02/2006 10:12

Ohh yeah I fancy that. A girl came into the shop the othe day when I was having those acrylic nails put on and she had a mahogoney dye in her hair. It was black with a purple tinge. It was really nice and rich

Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 10:12

Humph! I'm off to the chemist to buy some dye (maybe a wig or a paper bag)!

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 10:14

OP posts:
tarantula · 10/02/2006 10:15

workingmumnhs · 10/02/2006 10:15

Squirrel3 · 10/02/2006 10:16
