@Soxy2154

You live in the UK so there is absolutely nothing stopping you from leaving other than you.

We live in a country with benefits, it isn’t a glamorous life but it is enough. You don’t need him. We live in a country with women’s aid and plenty of other refuges.

You take your kids, you go to a police station and you tell them what is happening. They will get you help. They will contact charities and they will get you housed. You can also call women’s aid yourself.

Tomorrow, you apply for universal credit and you open a claim with the child maintenance services and you contact a solicitor.

You live in a country where you will be supported. Staying with him is 100% a choice you are making because you are not trapped. You have children - it isn’t just you anymore. You need to make the better choice for you and your kids, and protect them from living in a home like this. Take your kids and walk out. Go to a police station and ask for help.

This is horrendous can your sister take you and the children to her house

Livpool · 15/07/2026 22:16

Leave. Right now. That’s not as hard as being killed.

What a brilliant post.

OP please please read this

Well done for asking for help, can you stay at your sisters, tell her everything he's done to you and ask her to call the police. They can accompany you to collect your stuff from your house.

Soxy2154 · 15/07/2026 22:18

Last night he raped me, stripped me naked, pulled me down the stairs by my hair and threw me out and locked the door. Completely naked. Not 1 neighbour helped or called the police.

YOU need to call the police OP. For heaven’s sake get yourself and your children away.

Soxy2154 · 15/07/2026 22:20

My sister is on the way. She knows what he is like but never officially spoken about it. It's the first time I've ever done this.

Grab birth certs, passports, essential meds. Tell each child to grab their favourite toy. A few clothes, your purse and phone.

Everything else can be bought.

12234m · 15/07/2026 22:20

In your fear I expect you couldn't think to just knock on a door until someone did help. I hope your family arrive and take you all away. Please make last night the last time and I am so desperately sorry for you and your children.

hididdlyho · 15/07/2026 22:21

You've got this, go to your sister's with the kids. Be brave and confide in your family as to what goes on behind closed doors. I'm sure they'd rather have you safe with them than back living with your monster husband. You and your kids deserve a better, peaceful life.

Holdonforsummer · 15/07/2026 22:21

Please go to a safe room and call the police now and report what happened last night. You need to do this for your kids, please. Or wait till the other family members come over. I fear he is going to end up killing you. It is not a safe environment for you or the children. Please dial 999 now.

superspideysense · 15/07/2026 22:21

How long will they be - can you get the kids out??

BringBackCatsEyes · 15/07/2026 22:21

Soxy2154 · 15/07/2026 22:11

I've text my sister and brother in law to come over now. I can't take anymore. I can't.

You did it. I am sure you are scared. You will be safe. That's all you need to think about for now.

superspideysense · 15/07/2026 22:21

So sorry you’re going through this.

The shame for his deeds is his, not yours.

Freakyfriday777 · 15/07/2026 22:22

Hi op, this is horrendous. If you can’t do it for yourself please please do it for your children. It is classed as child abuse to witness domestic abuse and I know that you are clearly a loving mother stuck in a horrendous situation and don’t want them being exposed to that. Everything that seems impossible now will feel like a horrendous nightmare in a years time, when you and your children are set up safe, away from him. Call a women’s refuge tonight, take the leap. Don’t wait for him to leave your children motherless and then god forbid he would have FULL custody of them without you here and god knows what kind of abusive upbringing they would have. Please please do it for your children xx

Covidwoes · 15/07/2026 22:23

OP you have taken the very brave first step to call your sister. Grab the essentials, the
children and get out. I am so sorry you are going through this.
Are the children school age? Please tell the school. I promise schools can support you in this situation.

Hotsirballloon · 15/07/2026 22:26

I think it’s so sad how many people say police the police won’t do anything unfortunately . Women’s aid or even 111 mental health they will do safeguarding and protect you

cauliflowercheeseplease · 15/07/2026 22:26

Praying for you OP, please be safe

isitus3 · 15/07/2026 22:26

Best of luck, Op.

Ricecrispiesatsix · 16/07/2026 12:23

Sending you love and strength OP. Hope you and your kids are safe.

I've had a family member arrested for way, way less than what the OP's DH has done. They've really helped us.

mellongoose · 16/07/2026 16:15

Thinking of you OP and hoping you and your children are safely away from this monster. Nobody should live like that. You deserve better x
