I might put Haaland back in my FPL team, he is on the bench at the moment.

I’m staying at home today. Weather wise it actually looks ok right now but I’ve had some bad health related news this week (well yesterday to be more exact) so I’m just taking it easy. The bank account will thank me too as I was at a gig on Thursday night then DH and I had a bit of a blowout last night after I had the call from the doctor so yeah just need a quiet one in today. DH has headed down to cheer them on for me though.

Sorry to hear you've had bad news.
All the best for whatever comes next.

burblish · 04/04/2026 14:11

Mo Salah missing a penalty pretty much sums up our season, his season, the whole enchilada. It would be so sad for Mo to end his incredible time at Liverpool with a whimper instead of a bang, but it looks like that's how it will go. 😥

Scoobydoobydoo19 · 04/04/2026 14:13

Reading the Easter thread about Easter traditions - it's watching the football except you're allowed a bag of Mini Eggs while you watch, isn't it? 😁

Only one bag of mini eggs? You amateur! I fully plan to be in a chocolate coma by the final whistle. Nothing else could possibly block out the trauma!

We played yesterday so don't play until Monday now but I'll keep you posted re: chocolate consumption! It's an away game though so obviously we'll lose.

I was rooting for you today even though City winning would suit Arsenal better as they would have more games but I loathe them and their 115 charges and their pet referee so much I'd so much rather Liverpool would have won.
Just for football.
Agree re Salah-it is very sad for a player like him to go out with a whimper. Still there are a few games left for him to leave in a blaze of glory.

And don't worry-I don't expect you to cheer us on later 😢😂

burblish · 04/04/2026 14:38

Thanks @MrsMitford3 ! I think most neutrals will be supporting Port Vale and Southampton today as the underdogs in their ties rather than because of particularly disliking Chelsea or Arsenal. Right now, I'm anticipating having to watch both legs of our Champions League tie v PSG through my fingers. Sigh. Right - time to bury my head in chocolate, with the hope of waking up in August (the World Cup can get in the bin this year, too). Good luck to all those teams who are still in the FA Cup!

1-1. Last minute goal from one of our defenders in injury time. Phew!

4 points outside the playoffs so there is still a chance. Just. Need to beat Leyton Orient on Monday but we really struggle away from home.

Please keep up the poor away form. the O’s need the points. Josh Koroma seems to have been frozen out after bit of a spat a few weeks ago. So maybe he won’t play against his former team. Good luck Port Vale. League one all the way.

Tarkan · 04/04/2026 17:14

4-2 loss for us at Gayfield today. DH phoned me to say the weather had turned and got so cold they left early so definitely sounds like staying at home was the right thing for me. I put the Boat Race on then promptly fell asleep. 🙈🤣

Rangers went top of the league after their win today. Hearts play tomorrow so we’ll see how long we stay top.

Honestly, I think you'll be fine. Only managed to scrape a draw against Reading and were poor in the second half after getting into good positions but wasting chances in the first half and that's at home where we haven't lost since October. We're woeful away from home.

Sounds similar to what has happened here with Joe Taylor who was sent out on loan to Wigan a week before Lee Grant was sacked. Rumours of a fall out. I liked Koroma when he was with us, inconsistent but when he was good, he was really good.

Hi @Folicky and good luck for today

Wasn’t to be, although could have been worse. Dreadful season and we have tickets for a match at the end of the season

Hope you've had a good day despite it not quite going to plan ☹️

ivyleafgeranium · 04/04/2026 19:18

Tough luck Port Vale. It would have been good to get a goal at Stamford Bridge, they just ran away with it. The very early goal was such a shame. We were very relieved to only lose by one goal to City last season. We had the fun of going in ahead at half time but knew it wouldn’t last once de Bruyne came on! We were at home though which makes a difference as you could tell the City players didn’t really like the small ground. We got to sing “sacked in morning” to Guardiola which I hadn’t expected!

gosh, look after yourself! (who was the gig?)

Gladbach were losing 2-1 at home to bottom of the league Heidenheim. Were getting booed by their own fans and pulled their fingers out to pull back with a draw. Probably not getting relegated now, but blimey, they are shite.

Comefromaway · 04/04/2026 20:27

I had hoped for at least a goal. Oh well.

we hadn’t really expected anything else & apart from one or two idiots (the person who threw an empty bottle into the lower stand deserves banning for life) the atmosphere was good and we sang til the end.

Comefromaway · 04/04/2026 20:28

But…. £6.90 for a rollover hot dog (or rather a lukewarm dog) & I had to get a refund for my pre ordered one as they ran out.

talk about adding insult to injury 😭

Hellohah · 04/04/2026 20:40

@Tarkan hope you're ok.

Not sure what those winds are like up there, they're pretty gusty here in Manchester. Best to stay indoors

Emarosa · 04/04/2026 20:45

I’m very proud of the Vale tonight and the spirit they showed after conceding early. My dad would have been proud too!

TheNewGaard · 04/04/2026 20:57

Alan Shearer can f*ck off! "Southampton deserve it". 2 shots to 11. Possession nowhere near. Diving all over the shop.

We need to do better, however...

Sorry to hear that Tarkan hope everything comes alright for you.
