Season review:

Overall a brilliant first season back in League 1. Disappointed we couldn't go all the way to go back to back but Bolton ultimately deserved to go up.
We started to so well but tailed off a bit after a poor January window. We need some strikers and midfielders to push on next season.

I am happy to continue the thread for the new season.

Someone else can do a WC one, there already is one running in Chat.

Has anyone got a link to the World Cup chat please?

The less said about Wednesday's season the better.

Come to think of it, the less said about Gladbach's season...

We have a few players at the world Cup, so I hope they all stay safe and undamaged. We've also made a few good signings and I'm very much looking forward to the pre-season friendly against Villa.

Have renewed my season ticket, and the price stayed the same so that's good.

Kirbert2 · 11/06/2026 21:56

Ha. I talk about us probably not signing many players this summer and we sign Ashley Fletcher from Blackpool today.

Free transfer but still. 😂

Notmenc · 11/06/2026 22:01

Crikey. I have been busy with my doggie and now seen 3 red cards ! Were they all ok? Or was the ref very lively?

DuncinToffee · 11/06/2026 22:12

I thought all 3 were harsh, especially the last 2

I thought the first and last ones were harsh, especially the last one but agreed with the second one.

Hellohah · 12/06/2026 19:30

There are noises that some of the Glazers want to sell. I'm hoping so.
They have just refinanced their loan.
MUFC is now (apparently) £1.4 billion in debt 😪

Clubs shouldn’t be allowed to have that much debt.

Hellohah · 19/06/2026 10:27

Hope you're all happy with your opening day fixtures.
We've got Hull away 👍🏻

DuncinToffee · 19/06/2026 10:30

Crystal Palace at home.

OP posts:
burblish · 19/06/2026 12:57

I don't tend to care whether the opening fixture is home or away, but always hope that the last match of the season will be at home. Got my wish: Liverpool start away at Newcastle and finish at home to Bournemouth.

TheBabyFatmoss · 19/06/2026 13:33

@DuncinToffeewe never beat you so enjoy 😂

TheSleepingGiant · 25/06/2026 18:29

Lower league fixtures and EFL cup draw released today. Gillingham have Luton at home in the cup before another home match against Walsall in the league. Got my new shirt for the season and looking forward to going to games again. Need to be more pro-active with the signings as the club had a huge clear out last month. 4 on board so far....

MrsMitford3 · 28/06/2026 11:51

Bit gutted that Granit Xhaka going to Chelsea.

Seems a crazy move for a player turning 34 next month (and being beloved by sunderland fans) but think he wants to move back to london and reunite with Xabi Alonso.

Wish him all the best.

Kirbert2 · 28/06/2026 12:15

Huddersfield bought all the strikers and now we're sending them all out on loan apparently. Alfie May to Doncaster & Dion Charles to Blackpool.

I have no idea what is going on. 😂

is that a done deal now? am assuming his family stayed in London?

I would have him back at Gladbach like a shot - maybe his next move after this (his wife's family live here)

MrsMitford3 · 28/06/2026 16:46

Looks pretty close-

My DIL saw him in the supermarket is Gosforth with 2 little girls a couple of months ago-assumed he lived around there.

Just thinking how all these moves impact the children-changing schools etc must be very hard (I know the wage may help soothe the pain) 😂

DuncinToffee · 29/06/2026 18:22

Wrong thread.

Maresca officially announced by Man City

My DIL is Brazilian so I am cheering for them.

However I also have a soft spot for Japan-especially Tomi 😍

But then Brazil have the Gabi's so somebody is going to be sad.
Like choosing between your children 😂

haha edited to say I replied to your original post @DuncinToffee 😂

"best Boro player - would like to keep him, but if someone offers 25 million for him we have to take it"

Picked up my season ticket for Gayfield for the coming season. Just under £300 which I know will seem like a total bargain compared to bigger clubs. I’m in my usual seat and I know the lovely women that sit to my left are getting their same seats too. I love that most people do that so you see the same faces every time. There’s a family with grandparents, their daughter and her two girls that sit in front of us and it’s been amazing to see the girls growing up. I’ve even had one of the men who sit behind me check how I was when I had been off during my medical testing. It’s honestly like a little family all together in our seats.

Also as a health update I’m now 4 weeks post-surgery and last week got a call to say they’re happy that the surgery was successful and I don’t need any further treatment. :)

Can’t wait to start getting my Smokie pies again soon (I know I could go to the fish shop for them but somehow it’s not the same LOL) and hopefully can tempt some of you up for a match soon. Wear layers if you do. 😁
