The ref wasn't too bad in the first half, but he might as well have given the whistle to Simeone in the second half!

Yes, the players and manager had an influence I think. Just have to up our game at home.

burblish · 30/04/2026 10:50

Scott Parker has left Burnley "by mutual consent".

DuncinToffee · 30/04/2026 11:50

Ashley Young is retiring at 40

I don’t understand how it was overturned

I get how if it had not of been given it would not have been overturned by VAR as it was a 50/50 one for me but how was there enough to overturn the on field decision - where was the clear and obvious error

that said the Bayern/PSG should really be the final on neutral grounds

I didn't think it was a penalty, but it wasn't a clear and obvious error either.

We were spoilt the night before with PSG v Bayern. At least it gave people something to talk about in this match.

Just had to share this!

"Burnley players first training session under caretaker Michael Jackson hailed a success.🤣 #LUFC"

Leeds are safe now right?

DuncinToffee · 01/05/2026 22:59

Not officially but yeah.

Arbroath and Dunfermline drew tonight so that’s us finished 3rd in the league. Play offs are away at Dunfermline on Tuesday coming then at home to them on the Friday. Not often you play the same team 3 times in a week.

Won’t get to be at Gayfield on our anniversary now but we can do something else at least.

Also bit of a fight at the end of the Raith Rovers v Ross County match apparently. Raith scored the winning goal with a 98th minute penalty which relegated Ross County for the second season in a row so emotions were obviously high.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 02/05/2026 08:35

Just seen palace won 3-1 in UEFA conference league! Go palace!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 02/05/2026 08:36

Can we beat Bournemouth tomorrow?

DuncinToffee · 02/05/2026 10:19

It's still all to play for in the Championship today

German Sky aree showing a Championship Conference with the Ipswich, Boro and Milwall matches so MrBref is glued.

This is where taking your eye off the ball earlier in the season comes to bite you on the bum. I hope Boro get the promotion though.

Gladbach will be getting severely trounced by Dortmund tomorrow so we're enjoying stress free footy today.

But the best news of all: the Wednesday stuff is sorted, new owners at the sold-out ground today (and joining in with the Honolulu stuff) and the EFL have confirmed no points deduction next season. And currently 2-0 up so maybe will finish the season on 0 points.

Comefromaway · 02/05/2026 16:01

Lincoln are here in party mode.

hoping for at least one Vale goal.

@Brefugee That's fantastic about Sheffield Wednesday - it's high time the fans had some good news.

Well done Tractor Boys; the Championship play offs look really exciting, too.

Kirbert2 · 02/05/2026 17:08

Huddersfield smash Wimbledon 4-0 and our strikers remember how to score!

Where was that a few weeks ago when we actually needed it? Too little too late.

Brightbluesomething · 02/05/2026 17:13

We’ve also remembered how to score, and win! Let’s hope it continues so we can keep Howe 🤞

DuncinToffee · 02/05/2026 17:41

I see Bradford is in the play offs, good luck @Scoobydoobydoo19

Really pleased for Sheffield Wednesday @Brefugee especially scrapping the unfair points deduction they had planned to impose.

Gills ended with a 1-0 win against Ainsworth's former club Shrewsbury. Last game for our goalie, Glenn Morris and striker Sam Volkes, both retiring. Lots of players out of contract so the retained list will be interesting.

Is it tradition to dress up in costume for the final away game? Lots of banana's and beer cans sitting in the away end today 😂

It is!

I was at the Huddersfield vs Mansfield game last week and a lot of the Mansfield fans were dressed up including bananas 😂and I wasn't in Wimbledon today but some Huddersfield fans were dressed up on TV too, including Mario and Luigi!

TheNewGaard · 02/05/2026 19:38

Arsenal finally worked out how to play the ball forwards quickly, rather than sideways and backwards. Hopefully we can continue to do so...

burblish · 02/05/2026 20:06

@TheSleepingGiant Dear Sam Vokes - I will always have such fondness for him because of his goals for Wales, especially the one against Belgium in the 2016 Euros.

Yes. But I seem to remember that we did that earlier in the season too but then reverted to form so I am not holding my breath.

Good to see MLS playing in midfield at last.
