It has been all Ciry this second half, Arteta had no answer this time.

I am hoping that we turn that around when we go there in a few weeks…..and we will have Raya back in goal.

Tiswa · 22/03/2026 18:25

At least the ridiculous notion that any team can win the quadruple has gone for another season!

Yes and if there was one to miss out on then this was it. However the manner in which we lost is more worrying.

I really think that it was Kepa's fault (and Arteta's for selecting him).

Our main team hadn't really played with him so I am not too worried at the moment but now that City are out of the CL, they will be able to concentrate on the league.

Also, not having Eze or Oedegaard was a big issue.

burblish · 22/03/2026 18:32

Arsenal fans on the thread: commiserations, but you will likely win the Premier League, which is the prize you really want. It's like when Liverpool lost in last year's League Cup final but won the League. Still feels crap for you today, but you will probably have a bigger reason to celebrate soon.

Agree, Eze was a big miss as he’s played well recently.
I am going to stay positive and have just switched off Sky sports as can’t watch them celebrating! (Yes, I am a sore loser!).

Thanks, I hope you are right, but with City out of the CL, we have many more games than them.

It's nice to win trophies, but I don't really care too much about them really. We got to the final and we are doing well in every competition. We should get CL next year and we are not in a relegation fight. So we have a lot to be grateful for.

Thanks, I really hope so. So many people want us to fail it must be hard to not let it get in your head as players/manager.
Not sure why Arteta seems to rub people up the wrong way but maybe I am a blinkered fan!

Tiswa · 22/03/2026 18:50

who is the woman constantly by Pep side. Did think maybe daughter but surely a little too touchy feely for that (or maybe not!)

DuncinToffee · 22/03/2026 18:52

I don't mind Arteta but he does whinge a lot. He did that as a player s well and Pep is not much better

Will Tudor survive much longer?

@Itstheyearitstarts If you support certain teams (particularly Chelsea, Man U, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool), you know a lot of other clubs' fans will love to hate you. It's just how it is. As a Liverpool fan, the level of saltiness we got last season (inc on this thread, frankly!) from others was wild! It could be worse: you could be a Millwall fan! (Although I suppose then you could proudly say everyone hates you and you don't care 😄)

Tudor is a dead man walking surely, they are really in the danger zone now.

Yes you are right but we’ve barely won anything in the last 10 years! City deserve it for their cheating (I fear they are going to get a small fine for all of those charges), which is not right.
Thankfully not a Millwall fan 🤣

But the thing is people expect City to win because they are owned by a state.

I think people think we are above our station for even trying to win anything. And they feel that if we can do it then they should be able to do it. And so they are more jealous of us than they are of City. And I think also fans would be the same.

I'm worried that Millwall are going to be promoted to the PL!

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 22/03/2026 19:32

Nwaneri scored for Marseille today. It's a shame he wasn't playing for us!.

burblish · 22/03/2026 19:39

Re Millwall: DH is a Palace fan because he thought his late grandfather was (that side of their family were South Londoners). It was only years later that he found out from his gran that his grandad had actually supported Millwall! Thankfully, by then DH was an entrenched Palace fan. We always joke thank God for that mistake, or else I (being Indian, not white) wouldn't have touched him with a bargepole! 🤣

I really wouldn’t fancy going to the emirates if they do get promoted! I remember playing them back in the late 1980’s and feeling intimidated, even more so than when we play Spurs. Got called a cunt and pushed last season at the emirates by an unhappy spurs fan (large bloke!)

burblish · 22/03/2026 19:42

Ok, hold on to your hats: I'm watching Arteta's interview now on Sky and I'm actually going to give Arteta kudos(!) for the way he stuck up for Kepa. I know he has to because he can't say he made the wrong call in putting Kepa in, but I liked that he was trying to take the heat off the player.

He doesn’t generally speak badly of any single player and ultimately he picked him so it’s on him.

I think it’s his daughter Maria. I raised an eyebrow also…

I’d have preferred City to win the cup final so happy enough with that.

JasonTindallsTan · 22/03/2026 19:56

Mainly because I take comfort from the fact that we got beat by the ultimate winners eg no one else could beat them either.

Yes, I really hope that Millwall don't get promoted. I think it would ruin the Premier League.

I'm always worried that we might get them in the league cup or the FA cup.

Yes it annoys me when managers criticise individual players in public.

And it was definitely Arteta's fault.
