It got worse

It was all your fault.

Tiswa · 11/03/2026 22:37

I mean PSG literally requested to move the Nantes game from this weekend to rest between the two Chelsea games

Chelsea have Newcastle!

I don’t think any true football fan is enjoying this horrible demise of our once great club.

JasonTindallsTan · 12/03/2026 09:31

Welcome @Mistyglade theres a post somewhere telling you who we all support. I’m a Newcastle fan so know how relegation feels. Sadly I think Spurs are on their way. The players have given up and the manager is not the right man for the job.

Tiswa · 12/03/2026 09:33

I was reading something @Mistyglade (and I am a Spurs fan with a husband and son Liverpool) that said that Villa and Newcastle in a way benefited from relegation - from the ashes a phoenix can be reborn

I think the past few seasons without change (relegation being the promotion teams) has caused some complacency but I also think we are no more or less than Forest Leeds and West Ham (and I think it is those 4)

3 of whom (Spurs/Forest/West Ham) need to take a long hard look at how it happened and it all 3 cases it is board management IMO

DuncinToffee · 12/03/2026 09:44

Welcome Mistyglade

I think most football fans wouldn't wish relegation on any club but there is a lot of glee out there. I don't know if paddypower still do their memes, they had a field day with us (Everton)

i think @DuncinToffee made it? and i was wondeing if we could impose greatly by asking if she would be really kind and post it as the first post in the next new thread?

my Boro fan is mumbling Dark Thinks but i think it amounts to "Boro doing Boro things" 😂

Wednesday were doing Wednesday things on Tuesday by conceding an equaliser in the 90th minute. Well, only -6 points now!

Yeah, I'm in a football chat group on Telegram and they were trying to work out when the fixtures would be played.

Good luck after Wednesday 😊 it's going to be busy!

Well, we were dreadful, you were not.

Piknik · 12/03/2026 11:56

@Mistyglade Hello 🖐 I am also a miserable Spurs fan (Please can I be added to the roll call @DuncinToffee?)

I am resigned to relegation now. And much as it breaks my heart, there is a bit of me that thinks this might be the wake-up call the board need. It was easy to keep blaming Levi - and I think his squeaky purse strings have led us here - but nothing has improved since his departure.

Most people I know don't want to see us go down, some because they respect the history of the club, but also I suspect there is an element of 'if they can, anyone can' and it makes people fearful. DH is on a group chat with about 15 old friends - many of whom are Arsenal - there are three of them who definitely DO want us to go down and have been baiting and crowing for the last three months, but even his DBro who is the biggest piss taker in the world and die hard Chelsea, doesn't want to see us relegated.

I was laughing at people saying bring in Harry, Hoddle et all, but at this point a bit of heart and hand holding wouldn't hurt anyone. Some sort of Harry, Hoddle, Defoe, Sherwood combo might be our last hope not Mason though

DuncinToffee · 12/03/2026 13:06

I will add:

Piknik - Tottenham

Anyone else?

@Mistyglade I was only hoping you got relegated and won the champions league because that would have been some going and very amusing. By heck, would it have annoyed the hell out of Arsenal fans 😂

As you're now effectively out of the CL, I'm no longer bothered about who gets relegated.

burblish · 12/03/2026 14:38

Welcome @Piknik and @Mistyglade ! I'm a Liverpool fan but Spurs are my closest professional football club and one of my children is a Spurs fan. I really hope Spurs stay up or, if luck isn't on your side this season, that the club will take it as an opportunity for a refresh and rebuild. You will understand why I can't wish you well for this weekend, but I hope results go your way after that!

Tiswa · 12/03/2026 14:57

@burblish the opposite of me then a Spurs fan with a Liverpool son.

Hate this weekend fixture at least last season it was the premier league winning one

Football fans have long memories...
I think perhaps those Arsenal fans remember the Spurs fans "baiting and crowing" in their game v City last season.
Cheering for their own team to lose to spite Arsenal.
If I recall they were doing the poznan with the City fans and Ange had to have a word...
I have seen fans being interviewed outside the stadium and they all say they'd rather go down than see Arsenal win.

I hope West Ham stays up.

MrsMitford3 · 12/03/2026 16:25

*it wasn't last season but 23-24. It's all a blur really

Scoobydoobydoo19 · 12/03/2026 17:33

Comefromaway · 12/03/2026 10:14

Well, we were dreadful, you were not.

Joe Gauci played well - we should have scored more than we did. If only Ethan Wheatley could hit a barn door!
Sadly I think you have too much to do to stay up but hopefully you will have a good season next season.

burblish · 12/03/2026 17:55

We have all seen fans of lots of different clubs who overdo the "baiting and crowing". None of them/us can claim moral victory there. So let's just make sure that, in this particular space, we keep the schadenfreude in our heads and off the thread!

Tiswa · 12/03/2026 18:00

I don’t think any Premier League club remotely has the upper hand over any other club in terms of behaviour sadly!

Sutton united is our local club and that can be a far nicer experience in terms of that which is why lower league football should be promoted much more
