I mean it was an AWFUL goal

and even though Newcastle were amazing tonight the travel and the effects of playing give Man City an advantage

it’s going to be an interesting north London derby

I would prefer we weren’t playing for everything and just in league/CL in reality.
How we have drawn with Wolves is beyond me.

Tiswa · 18/02/2026 22:21

It is why I would be amazed if the Quadruple does ever get done because the League Cup means you end up playing games like this

Liverpool had it last season with Aston Villa away (on the back on the Everton match the week before) it is tough

Heads looked lost at the end (similar again to the Liverpool/Everton) and they need to be brought back

I have said for awhile where tje title goes will entirely be down to how Arsenal handle it psychologically they were doing so well with it with the goals against Newcastle/Wolves but 2026 has brought the jitters and it isn’t as if Man City haven’t had their stumbles either

For me proper man management is needed and an acceptance of blame in order to rally and move on

Fingers crossed the slump is over. We played so well (in different ways) Saturday and Tuesday.

I hope Huddersfield can get out of their slump too but I have a bad feeling that our better recent performances were the good ole' new manager bounce rather than genuine improvement.

Barnsley at home on Saturday and we tend to be better at home so fingers crossed.

DuncinToffee · 19/02/2026 08:54

We don't have a match until Monday night,

I read that Villa haven't had a Saturday 3pm home match for over a year.

Wolves fan here.

Last night feels like a win to me so I expect that it feels like a loss to you Arsenal fans.

How did you manage to draw last night? First of all, there were two teams playing last night, not just Arsenal. So how you managed to draw wasn’t just down to your performance.

A Wolves team playing with much more freedom in the second half with nothing to lose? Complacency being two up against the rock bottom team? The conditions? The weather looked atrocious and the Molineux is quite the place under the lights. A team that’s finally playing for the manager and each other? And finally a quite spectacular goal that would grace any team.

Im far too polite to mention the B word. But strange things happen in football and that’s why we love it right?

What is it with Everton and Monday night football it seems (and this maybe an exaggeration) that a third of Monday night football are Everton

Edited

Agreed but in all honesty given we were two up and playing the team bottom in the league we shouldn’t have lost, it’s just not good enough.
Fully accept that Wolves played well and didn’t give up but my issue isn’t with Wolves it’s with Arsenal. They cannot be arrogant enough to not give 100% and sit back.

BitOutOfPractice · 19/02/2026 13:26

I dunno, I find it quite annoying that bigger teams, and their fans, seem to believe that they are entitled to a win at smaller clubs. And yes you’re right, that is Arsenal’s problem, not ours! We’ve had a great 7 years in the Prem refusing to believe that narrative. I’m sad it’s coming to an end.

Itstheyearitstarts · 19/02/2026 14:55

I definitely don’t see it as entitled to win, this for me is about showing respect to all clubs and playing with the same level of commitment and passion as you would say a Man City etc. It’s the complacency I hate and then it bites you in the arse, as we saw last night.
I would like Wolves to stay up as I like the way they play.

Tiswa · 19/02/2026 22:33

Has anyone else seen the game management clip of the last 5 minutes that Wolves (and the official wolves) posted about the game

BitOutOfPractice · 20/02/2026 09:20

I’ve seen it yes. I’d be embarrassed to be an Arsenal fan to be honest (and my DP is!) Also the Arsenal players goading the Wolves fans. No wonder they lost their shit at the end.

I think the Arsenal players on the night, and the Fan reaction I’ve seen on socials, shows a distinct sense of entitlement!

I just watched it and it did make me laugh - it reminded me of that hilarious clip of Bruno Fernandes' fake injury antics that Fulham posted to their official TikTok account to the soundtrack of "Monkeys Spinning Monkeys"! 😂

Gabriel Jesus being an utter dick after the final whistle wasn't a good look either (although Yerson Mosquera made a right meal of it, which is also dickish).

Yep. Made me do an audible snort of laughter.

As did the tweet that said no team who is top of the league has ever dropped a 2 goal lead to a team in the relegation zone, so not only are we bottling it, we’re finding new inventive ways to do so.

Or something like that 🤣🤣

Brightbluesomething · 20/02/2026 13:43

Yes my (admittedly Newcastle supporting) DS said this last night. The start of the annual Arsenal bottle.
Which does make me a little sad as I have friends who support Arsenal and it would be nice for them to win the league since we’re obviously not going to, but it is now an annual tradition. You’d have thought they’d know this by now and try a different approach.

Not sure why Arsenal fans should be embarrassed? It is down to the players and Arteta to feel embarrassed.

I don't want them to waste time as it always comes back to bite us.

We deserved what we got against Wolves.

At least it has dampened the hope of winning the league as it is the hope that kills you.

We are not in a relegation fight and we should get Champions League (although we need to start winning some games soon). So I feel bad complaining.

BitOutOfPractice · 21/02/2026 11:57

Embarrassed by their team I mean.

BitOutOfPractice · 21/02/2026 11:57

Yes, well I certainly am.

Perhaps if we spent more time playing football rather than trying to " manage" the game, we might actually win some games.

Tiswa · 21/02/2026 22:01

That was tense

I can see why Arsenal try and manage I think the whole not winning it yet has hit psychologically and they are trying anything in order to do so

City do have what should be the easier run between now and the big one

Kirbert2 · 21/02/2026 22:02

Happy that Huddersfield got a win today against Barnsley. Apparently we just don't like winning away!

JasonTindallsTan · 21/02/2026 22:26

I feel like Newcastle gave a decent account of themselves tonight. The Burn goal being ruled out was an interesting one and Silva remaining on the pitch was scandalous after he upended burn without even looking at the ball, in direct sight of the ref, not 5 minutes after his first yellow card. It was one of those that would definitely have been a yellow if not for the one given prior. Which is not how it should work.

Hey ho. Dust ourselves off. Beat them in the cup.

burblish · 21/02/2026 22:27

The title race is becoming ever more interesting! Obviously I was delighted as a Liverpool fan when we won it at a canter last season, but it was boring for neutrals. A tight race is infinitely preferable when your club isn't one of the ones in contention! 🤣

JasonTindallsTan · 21/02/2026 22:30

Other thoughts, City’s bench vs ours was outrageous. So difficult to compete with that depth. Haaland vs Burn is always a brilliant battle, I’ve never seen Haaland look so done in at full time 😂

Bad football day today.
