Bad football day today.

You have the same problem as us with poor away form. I'm always far, far less confident when we're away.

Absolutely. We made five changes. FIVE. Why do you do that to a winning team? (I get that it's brutal having a few consecutive weeks of Saturday/Tuesday but you don't need to completely rehash the team)

ETA: I saw you came from behind today, not bad 😉

BitOutOfPractice · 22/02/2026 08:38

SO many draws from the big clubs this season. Is it just me imagining that? How do the top three’s points tallies compare to the top three last season I wonder?

Brefugee · 22/02/2026 09:10

you can all be glad you don't support Wednesday who are going to have a batting collapse against United today. Glad i'm not in the Steel City - i hate derby day.

And Gladbach are away to Freiburg. We haven't won there in 24 years. And are now precariously at 14th. So. Urgh.

All the best for derby day. I guess the inevitable will happen eventually but you don't want it to be them who condemn you.
I feel incredibly sorry for all the fans and players for what's happened.

I shall keep everything crossed for Wednesday and hope today isn't the day 🙏

TheSleepingGiant · 22/02/2026 10:40

Was at the worst Gillingham performance of the season yesterday (and after Bromley last month that is saying something!) - couldn't keep possession, no tracking runners, weak tackles, woeful shots supposedly at goal and endless hoof-ball straight to Oldhams hugely built centre halves!
Ainsworth said before this game he was going to give the fans something to shout about; I don't think "what the fucking hell was that" and "your not fit to wear the shirt" was what he had in mind 😳

burblish · 22/02/2026 15:04

@Brefugee I'm so sorry to see what has happened to Sheffield Wednesday because of that shyster Dejphon Chansiri. It's really quite shocking. I hope the club can regroup and rebuild next season. The fans and players deserve better.

Brefugee · 22/02/2026 17:07

Thanks, @burblish . It's just a matter of a) hoping someone can actually take over (and not be a shyster) and b) survive the season. Still, at least we scored a goal today so it wasn't a complete stuffing.

Gladbach, predictably, lost again. So. Still have a few relegation worries. But ho hum. If we're playing in the 2nd division next season, we'll get off the car park quicker...

Piknik · 22/02/2026 18:03

I can’t remember seeing a worse Spurs side than this. We are awful.

You've also had no luck this season: more players injured than fit, and every bobble and ricochet on the pitch seems to be going against you, too.

Yes, you don't deserve to go down and I really hope that you don't.

Piknik · 22/02/2026 18:21

We have been so unlucky with injuries and decisions and I feel sick at the thought we could go down. We have no mid field at all today. Nothing.

Arokodare third player racially abused this weekend

Brefugee · 23/02/2026 10:47

shocking

DuncinToffee · 23/02/2026 10:51

What makes it even worse is that the FA had no problem with Ratcliffe's comments.

OP posts:
Brefugee · 23/02/2026 12:54

My loathing of the FA comes only third behind my loathing of FIFA and UEFA.

burblish · 23/02/2026 13:15

@DuncinToffee I honestly despair of people. It is utterly insane that every single time any team gets a penalty, I find myself praying that if a non-Caucasian player takes it, they won't miss, because I know what inhumane filth will follow. And then there are the slavering shitbrains who spew out their racist bile on any pretext whatsoever that their pinheads can jump on, as happens all the time to Vinicius Jr. Meanwhile, the likes of Jim Ratcliffe get away with trying to stir up ever more hatred against minorities. I just don't understand their mentality at all (thank fucking God for that).

I know it's not about me personally, but I read things like this and it takes me back to every time someone shouted racist abuse at me when I was growing up, the brick through the window and dogshit through the letterbox, the snarling, the aggression, that horrible feeling of fear, degradation and humiliation. How is this still happening now, decades later?

Brefugee · 23/02/2026 20:11

@burblish god I'm sorry you went through all that. It is awful. All racism is awful.

Also: how are we feeling about the Spurs fan waving the picture of Declan Rice's girlfriend/wife all match?

He should have been ejected after 2 minutes, and banned for life.

DuncinToffee · 23/02/2026 21:57

I don't like Monday night football

awful match, dreadful ref and my FPL players all got yellows

Lammens has been an excellent signing though

and sesko reminds me of Darwin Nunez the kind of slightly out of control energy he brings

speaking of which there are rumours of his return

DuncinToffee · 23/02/2026 22:52

We didn't exactly make it difficult for Lammens.

Maybe the commentators will finally stop saying we are dangerous from corners and set pieces Grin

OP posts:
burblish · 23/02/2026 23:54

I want to thank everyone who reacted to my post about racism - I appreciated the support very much. I hope the cowardly social media companies stop helping these similarly cowardly dickheads, although I'm not holding my breath. However sickening the constant reports of yet more incidents of racism are, it's so important to shine a light on what is happening and how these ugly words affect people. Sunlight, they say, is the best disinfectant.

illuminada · 24/02/2026 19:37

So fed up with the wrestling going on at corners. Why are referees being so pathetically weak?

TheNewGaard · 24/02/2026 19:46

It's been bizarre in SM today.

Everyone is highlighting the corners for Everton against Man Utd.

And blaming Arteta...
