@Tiswa I reckon that Glasner would walk, though, rather than being sacked. Palace will definitely lose Guehi but if Wharton and Mateta are also sold in the summer, I don't see Glasner agreeing to renew his contract - he is too ambitious to want to stay at a "selling" club.

I think Howe is safe for this season, credit in the bank after ending our silverware drought, back in another semi final, pretty much into the play offs for the next round of the Champions League and still playing for Champions League next season. I think he’d be more likely to leave at the end of the season of his own accord as opposed to be sacked. I think he’s a man of integrity and if he thinks he has taken us as far as he can then I think he’d walk away with his head held high rather than wait to be relieved of his duties.

Nancy sacked by Celtic now too.

Martin O'Neill has agreed to take over (again!) for the rest of the season; good news for Celtic fans but maybe not so much for Hearts fans. We shall see.

Amorim sacked

Not a decision I support.

He has given pleasure to millions of people and is continuing to do so.

Wayne Rooney for Man U manager, please.

I might be in a minority here but I don't see that he's done much wrong.
He probably shouldn't have had his rant in the media, but Man Utd are 6th. I don't think they can expect to be much higher with the players they have. Guy can't polish a turd.

JasonTindallsTan · 06/01/2026 10:11

I think it’s interesting that getting beaten by Grimsby in the first round of the cup was fine, getting beat in the European cup final was ok, finishing 15th or 16th in the league or whatever it was was ok. But criticising the board? That’s the line? Man U are an absolute joke club these days. The rot runs deep.

Chelsea have announced Liam Rosenior as their new head coach on a contract until 2032.

Well good luck to him- ex Brighton, but not sure it will be the right decision for him long term

He has already exceeded his father's second period as Torquay manager, which was all of 10 minutes!

JasonTindallsTan · 06/01/2026 22:38

A 6 year contract seems insane. They’ll have had another 10 managers by the time his contract officially runs out.

I thought that too - 8 years seems very optimistic! Is that normal?

Brefugee · 07/01/2026 10:38

I think that these days the length of contract, especially for a manager, is all about the pay off when they get sacked.

Completely, which is why it seems barmy from the clubs perspective to give out lengthy contracts knowing they go through managers like underwear!

Tiswa · 07/01/2026 12:22

How much have clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United paid out recently in managerial changes? A quick google says 100m for Manchester United in 10 years and 36 million for Chelsea in the last 4. Spurs have £90 in the last 10. Chelsea seems low to me!

which is insane

it's probably coming from the manager tho

I assume it’s because managers know they go through them like underwear and are therefore demanding long contracts (so big payouts) in order to take the job.

JasonTindallsTan · 07/01/2026 14:09

Yeah presumably. I’d have thought the clubs had the power in the main though (especially for someone like Rosenior being appointed, perhaps different if Pep or Jose). Fair play to him for getting decent terms!

I guess the way they go through managers has depleted that power slightly

Facts.

A good evening for us. Hopefully we can do the business tomorrow...

@Brightbluesomething @JasonTindallsTan Your lads will have made Kevin Keegan very happy and proud tonight.

JasonTindallsTan · 07/01/2026 22:47

An utterly ridiculous game of football. So very Entertaineresque. So very King Kev. 🖤🤍

Absolutely. What an incredible game. We were back to being the Entertainers in the 90’s when I first started going to matches.
I hope to god that isn’t a career ending injury for Fabian though, awful to see.

JasonTindallsTan · 07/01/2026 23:13

It looked like a broken ankle and Eddie says he’s been taken to (presumably) the RVI. At his age it’ll be a difficult one to come back from. Absolutely heartbreaking to see him upset being stretchered off the pitch. He has in his own words been ‘an absolute fucking bargain’ at 3m and an incredible player for the club. As well as being one handsome bastard.

DH and DS took our tickets for the match tonight. Gutted to have missed the limbs that will have followed that Harvey Barnes winner.
