@burblish - he’s a Hibee so he’s happy now but the end of that match was scary for him.

Despite being a Rangers fan I do agree it makes it more fun when there are other teams in the mix. As long as it isn’t Hearts. Haha.

Was also good to see St Mirren win the league cup. Especially since Arbroath beat them in the group stages. 😁

Boring draw but a clean sheet on the road. We are missing our creative players.

Hi Scooby and Brightblue

I knew I forgot to say something in my post. Apologies to our newcomers and welcome to the thread!

Just in time for January transfers. 😁

DuncinToffee · 27/12/2025 18:57

Moyes has already tempered any expectations for the January window 😬

Better day for you yesterday then. A win and two red cards, sounded rather exciting. A lot of my friends are City supporters and they were some of the best fans we had visit us recently. While I watched us petting the goal for most of the match, unable to score….

burblish · 27/12/2025 20:03

Apologies @Brightbluesomething - I stupidly assumed you were Toon with my Prem-coloured glasses on. Sorry!

I am! Born and bred and a member so go to as many matches as the ballot gods will allow, but I don’t live there now.

I haven’t had a chance to read much about Brightons game but to be honest I expected to loose by more

You were unlucky. You did nothing in the first half, but came out fighting in the second and deserved at least a draw. We just about managed to hang on.

Who's your team? I've missed that along the way somewhere !
We didn't actually play that well (and the first goal was probably against the run of play) but 9 men left them very light, especially in midfield.
I'm absolutely buzzing with the whole of 2025!

DuncinToffee · 28/12/2025 10:59

I don' think we have any Villa fans but they are flying now.

I hope they continue to upset the Sky darlings Grin

I think just like Leicester was the neutrals choice most non Arsenal and city fans want Villa surely?

I have absolutely nothing against them (love a claret and blue kit) think they have worked wonders with the FFP monetary limitations they have had (came close I think to breaching) and full respect if Unai Emery does it

and Morgan Rogers Ollie Watkins and Ezri Konza are English so that has to be good for the World Cup

Yes, let's hope.

I was just reading the write up for out match yesterday and it said that our second goal was scored by our top scorer for December: Own Goal.

Tiswa · 28/12/2025 17:00

We are in the US at the moment so DH and DS watched both Liverpool and Arsenal matches (one on tv one streaming) and neither were good

The US pundit though for Villa was interesting as he basically at half time was like this is going to be Villa because his view was Emery is making decisive substitutions and a half time team talk and he was right

Brefugee · 29/12/2025 21:43

another point for Wednesday today, but the Boro supporting DH is in despair that they lost. Again. ho hum

DuncinToffee · 30/12/2025 19:08

West Ham v Brighton is lively. 3 penalties in the first half!

DuncinToffee · 30/12/2025 20:30

We are visiting family so have to do with radio commentary. That does mean I have time to read online comments and keep an eye on our missing senegal players

Well, I didn't think we would win against Villa, let alone win 4-1.

Very happy.

TheNewGaard · 30/12/2025 23:19

That was good, despite Darren Birmingham's refereeing. I think we Villa'd Villa with that one.

I still think Manchester City could end up winning the league though.

Yes. It is definitely theirs to lose.

One swallow doesn't make a summer unfortunately (or whatever the saying is).

It was just nice to win a match with more than a one goal difference for once especially a match that I didn't think we would win.
