We are over halfway through the season. It looks like the WDC will either be Lando or Oscar. Hoping for a grandstand finish in Abu Dhabi.

What a crappy race for all the British drivers.

The behaviour of some Max fans appalls me. Sending death threats to a 19 year old boy who drove a cracking race,defending against Lando for so long.

Kimi looks up to Max, there is no way he would have deliberately let Lando through.

Totally unacceptable.

I never cease to be amazed at how awful some people can be on social media and it’s been going on for a long time. Timo Glock was given such a hard time after Brazil 2008, Latifi for AD2021. There is a gulf between having a difference of opinion on a sporting incident and abuse and death threats.

I can understand GPs throw away comment to Max, anyone reasonable would know it was driver and engineer in the middle of a race and unlikely to be true. It’s part of the banter between sports people. I don’t want to see even more sanitised comms as I like the banter.

The good thing is Mercedes and Toto have a protective arm around Kimi.

Is anyone else on edge knowing we have turn one at AD and anything can happen. I keep thinking of Mansell’s burst tyre.

Some Max fans are disgusting. I'm more worried about Abu Dhabi as getting flashbacks to 2021. I have no doubt the FIA will find a way for Max to win.

It's such a shame because he's so talented but most of his titles are surrounded by controversy

Its quite scary and sad that Antonelli has received over a thousand messages of abuse including death threats due to GP's and Helmut's comments, Helmut I don't think should be allowed to talk to the press as an RB spokesperson.

I think out of any of the 3, there will still be some people who will think its undeserved. Tbf Max has said hes only still in the competition because of "other peoples" (McLarens) mistakes. and the last 2 weeks have been an early Christmas present for him

I think Lando will do it, but I really hope he doesnt get booed. I feel bad for the drivers because all the swapping and trying to control outcomes is not really up to them. Im sure neither of them agreed with the pit strategy at Qatar, and obviously they couldn't do anything about the dq in LA. I wanted Oscar to do it and it did feel like he'd been cheated this last weekend, but he would have still been on the back foot anyway because of the races after the summer break.

@Fizbosshoes I am no Max fan but he has driven exceptionally well in a difficult car. If he does do it then it’s well deserved.

Lando should already be champion if you include the engine failure and the DSQ in LV. Again he would be a worthy champion.

Oscar in only his 3rd year ha# had a lot of really good races it’s just his form dipped for a few races. Again he would be a worthy champion.

I have just gone back and looked at my predictions from April 2025:

Amazingly this year I actually named the top 4. Max has certainly ground out results. Ferrari - got that completely wrong. 😂 Kimi - he took longer to settle down but has done very well.

Much better than my 2024 predictions.

I hope that Lando does it. Oscar is young and has a chance in the future. Lando has been loyal and a skilled driver His DNF's were not his fault eg Zandvoort.

I really, really hope if he does he is not booed. I can;t get over that mentality.

Next year I think that George could be the one to beat. And Kimi is a real future talent.

It's official then. Isaak to move to Red Bull and Arvid Lindblad to Racing Bulls. Dd said she doesn't think Lindblad is quite ready and would have benefitted from another season in F2.

Demotion for Yuki.

I really hope Red Bull don’t break Isack.

Still remember Marko’s appalling treatment of Isack when he first started - and how it compared with Anthony Hamilton’s behaviour.

I'm a bit sad for Hadjar. He's been doing well in the RB, now he'll be in Max's shadow. I think/hope that RBR generally is less toxic under Laurent, but Jos and Helmut are not easy men to manage.
I'm quite surprised Liam has kept his seat.

The top 3 each have 7 wins each, although the McLaren car was better for most, if not all season....
Max will probably be coolest under pressure and psychologically has the upper hand because hes done it before.

But the last 2 weekends, McLaren have lost points that were neither to do with the drivers performance or the performance of the car. Without the DQ in LA, wouldnt Lando be champion, already?

I think it’s important to remember that this is the first time in years that McLaren have been in the fight for the drivers’ championship (last time they won was with Lewis in 2008) and it’s only their second year winning the constructors’ so their team probably aren’t going to be quite as ‘slick’ under championship fight pressure as Red Bull who have years of recent experience in championship fights. The cracks are definitely showing at McLaren but I’m hoping they can hang on and not make any more stupid mistakes this weekend.

@HundredMilesAnHour I agree. Also RB have clearly continued to update their car.

My nerves can’t take this, FP1 and FP2 Lando quickest then Max.

Zac has now said if mathematically Oscar can’t win the team may ask him to help Lando. So if Oscar is 3rd and Lando 4th swapping round might be an option.

Im rooting for Oscar to at least have a decent race, after the last few weeks - its not looking promising so far, though...

I love Carlos Sparkles helmet.

Carlos’ helmet is perfect. I love how Williams have embraced Sparkles.

The F1 drivers (most of them) also had their annual meal. It such a shame the media have to try and creat conflict when really they all respect each other and can separate on track competition from the rest of their lives.

I’m currently at the track, front row but there is a fucking handrail in the way to have to crouch down which is a real downer as just one row up would give the most wonderful view.

I’m all set for Qually. But feel a bit detached as I’m normally glued to all the coverage and at the track you are fairly limited. I can see 2 screens but don’t have good enough long vision to see too much of the text.

Am v excited. I would quite like George to get pole just to shake it up a bit!! 😂😂

Lando qualifying 2nd or 3rd would be great. He's not great off pole.
