Thread two

We are over halfway through the season. It looks like the WDC will either be Lando or Oscar. Hoping for a grandstand finish in Abu Dhabi.

I have been a huge admirer of Chris Hoy for years and completely agree with your assessment.

gingercat02 · 19/12/2025 22:14

I have seen clips of the Chris Hoy programme which made me cry, don't think I could do the whole programme. His wife is an amazing woman 😪

Just saw this on Reddit. Makes me love Carlos even more.

That’s why he’s such a smooth operator. 😜

Can anyone recommend any podcasts please 🙏
Im starting a training block for doing a half marathon, after christmas, and might need some thing to listen to if I cant run with friends. F1 preview and review podcasts have got me through some runs in the cold/dark/rain this winter, so far, ....but obviously there won't be any of those for a while....

Gosh you’re braver than me @Fizbosshoes. I hate running.

My favourite / most trusted F1 ‘podcast’ is by Tactical Rab (search F1 News - Tactical Rab). I watch (or rather listen to) it on YouTube when I’m getting ready for bed. This is the link to last night’s:

I like it because it’s relatively factual rather than speculative waffle. But I’m a grumpy cow as will be evident from my posts on this thread. 😛

High Performance is less frequent (but longer duration) and is an interview format and usually very interesting for the F1 related interviews (and even for some of the non-F1). Jake Humphreys used to be a F1 reporter so has good knowledge and good relationships in the F1 world. I find his podcast co-host Damian slightly irritating (back to that grumpy cow theme) but I just block him out as much as I can. 😂

Edit: I haven’t listen to the latest (5 days ago) High Performance one interviewing Jacques Villeneuve as grumpy cow here knows he will be slagging Lewis off to high heaven (and God knows who else) and I’m just not in the mood for it (yet). Villeneuve makes Nico Rosberg look shy, quiet and unopinionated so I suspect it will be entertaining though.

I like f1 explains. Easy to listen to and I often learn something new.

Fizbosshoes · 20/12/2025 23:02

Thank you so much 😊 I will look those up for listening material to get me through the January/February solo runs

I know. I always find it slightly weird. Alex clearly got Lando his but some of the others were probably PR buying for the drivers.

Laughing at the drivers who got books and were all, "Um...we are F1 drivers...we don't read..." 🤣

Fizbosshoes · 23/12/2025 23:35

I took my teens into London today to see the lights it was absolutely heaving DD wanted to go to selfridges, thankfully not tempted couldn't afford to buy anything. DS who hates shopping remembered seeing an F1 car in there, several years ago, so we went to see it, and that cheered him up.

I laughed at Nico getting the walking stick for Fernando Alsonso in secret santa.....but seriously what even would you buy for a multi-millionaire...?

Rowgtfc72 · 25/12/2025 21:27

Watched the F1 movie today. Was entertaining. Dd asked why they felt the need to keep explaining everything.
Think it was definitely aimed at the drive to survive audience.

We watched the F1 movie tonight too. Very thin on plot but that’s hardly a surprise. Definitely aimed at the Drive to Survice crowd / people who know very little (or nothing) about F1. My Dad did actually watch it though which is almost unheard of (he has ADHD) - his partner of almost 30 years has never seen him actually sit through a film before. 😂
