Thread two

We are over halfway through the season. It looks like the WDC will either be Lando or Oscar. Hoping for a grandstand finish in Abu Dhabi.

I too am not over AD2021 and seeing Lewis have such a bad year is making me sad and bad tempered.

I didn't bother getting up to watch the race yesterday and was so glad when I found out the result.

I can see Verstappen winning the championship again this year and that will make me angry too!

Fizbosshoes · 24/11/2025 13:21

Was the "management" that Lando did for the last few laps , coasting to the end, related to the same DQ incident or was that about fuel?

As a newbie follower im sonetimes intrigued at the differences in racing incidences that are "noted" and ones that are given a penalty. I am not knowledgeable enough to see how they are different.

@Fizbosshoes I think the management Lando was doing may have been about the skid block as he seemed to know DSQ was likely. It could also have been fuel saving but they usually tell the drivers to “lift and coast”.

Trust me long standing fans also struggle with what is a penalty and what is not.

Yes it seems Lando knew he/they were in trouble with the skid block during the race as there was a ‘coded’ radio message from his team(that wasn’t played by the TV broadcasters). Explains why he didn’t seem pleased by his win as he probably knew DSQ was likely.

Lando seemed noticeably ‘off’ post race. I’m just annoyed we were robbed of the Max /George / Kimi family podium 😁

Comefromaway · 25/11/2025 12:55

We were also robbed of finding out what would have happened with the champagne with Kimi on the podium.

Did anyone see the videos of the "club" Mclaren set up for Kimi as he coudn't go to the real one?

Brazilianadventure · 26/11/2025 14:53

Well it’s race week again.

I like having races consecutive weeks but I agree with Fernando and Carlos who both said Vegas should be a double header with Brazil.

It is brutal to do Brazil, back to Europe then Vegas, Qatar and AD as a triple header. The time zone changes are just too much.

Well I wouldn’t have put money on Newey being the new TP at Aston Martin!!

It certainly puts an end to the Christian Horner rumours! Can’t imagine Newey in that role at all.

gingercat02 · 26/11/2025 19:46

Saw that earlier, I can't see Adrian being comfortable in such a public position, he's so private, but I'm sure he knows what he is doing.
There is still a risk slimy Horner will end up at Alpine, we all know Flav has no moral compass.

Brazilianadventure · 26/11/2025 21:01

I think Adrian is ready to step up to TP. I really wanted him to go to Ferrari but given the problems Lewis and Charles have had in getting the departments to listen to them I can see Aston are a far better fit.

Lawrence is a business man who knows you appoint the right person and trust them to do their job.

Unless you’re a family member 😜 He should have binned Lance and got Carlos instead.

I wanted Newey to go to Ferrari too and was very sad when he didn’t. I would have loved to see what Newey could do working with Lewis. Ferrari appear to be (apologies for the technical term) fucked.

ThatCalmFinch · 26/11/2025 22:43

Annoyingly it hasn't put an end to the CH at AM rumours, Horner isn't allowed to work for another team until April next year, so rumour has it that Adrian is an interim TP - but.. personally I don't see that, a known sex pest isn't great for AM marketing, I don't see Mr Stroll Snr just handing over control to Christian and from what I remember from Adrian's biography he has always been about getting the right teams in place and giving his all to whatever he commits to.

On a positive note - are Williams finally on the up :-)

Brazilianadventure · 27/11/2025 18:20

Lance is the obvious exception to what I said about Lawrence. 😂

I really hope CH doesn’t go to Aston.

One thing that has struck me is how well Laurent Mekies has quietly gone about being TP. I know it can take months/years to turn a team/car around but it’s clear Max now has a much improved car. Sadly, for Yuki I think these will be his last two races in F1.

OP posts:
gingercat02 · 27/11/2025 18:36

There are 3 seats up for grabs in the 4 RBR cars. I would keep Hadjar, but in the RB not the main car. Lawson and Yuki should both go, but who is knocking around without a drive. I don't really follow F2 (DS does) or the driver development programs.

Red Bull seems a happier, healthier place with Laurent, even Max is less whingy, although a better car helps!

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 27/11/2025 18:42

Given one of the reasons Adrian Newey left RB was rumoured to be CH I don’t think there is any chance of them working together.

Anyone with any sense would choose Newey over Horner.

HundredMilesAnHour · 27/11/2025 19:44

I have an intense dislike of CH but I prefer him to even bigger scumbag Briatore so let’s stick CH in Alpine and kick Flav back out of F1.

gingercat02 · 27/11/2025 21:04

Hadjar has signed but won't say who for.......

And that would mean Geri gets to keep her part in DTS! 🙄😄

Lewis out Q3 sprint Quali - these last two weekends are going to be painful for Lewis and his fans.

Alonso doing well.

Poor Lewis, that interview was awful. I'm far from his biggest fan but I am desperately sad for him.

Brazilianadventure · 28/11/2025 18:17

Wow Yuki out qualified Max.

Comefromaway · 28/11/2025 18:39

Sad for Lewis.

wow - Yuki.

for a moment I thought George was going to take pole.

this has certainly shaken things up a bit for the WDC battle.

Fizbosshoes · 28/11/2025 19:20

Say what? Yuki in p5 😳That was unexpected!
Hoped to get home early to watch, but ended up following live text updates on BBC sport, on the train.
DS v pleased OP seems to have found some form

Yes really disappointing for Lewis (and Ferrari)

bluetongue · 28/11/2025 19:48

Lewis needs to face facts that he isn’t going to get his 8th WDC in Ferrari. Even Charles has nearly no hope in the next few years and I wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves if they handle the new regs badly.

Maybe z
being optimistic but I think until we see the 2026 cars in the first few races no one knows.

Merc is clearly favourite to get it right.
