Thread two

We are over halfway through the season. It looks like the WDC will either be Lando or Oscar. Hoping for a grandstand finish in Abu Dhabi.

Yet again I started watching sprint quali and fell asleep (under my lovely heated throw on the sofa) and when I woke up it was all over. 😂Clearly I’m not fully engaged with F1 right now.

Poor Lewis. I wonder how his comment about “the weather’s good” went down with the Ferrari bigwigs. Interesting that even Max seems to be publicly supportive of him. In fact the only people who don’t seem to be supportive are the Ferrari bigwigs. Very telling. I’d love to have been a fly on the wall when Lewis was talking with Vettel recently. I wonder if Seb resisted saying ‘I told you so’.

My nerves literally can't take this weekend. I'm going to busy myself with cooking while listening to R5 tomorrow afternoon. I just want Lando to be done and dusted by tea-time.

Brazilianadventure · 29/11/2025 14:22

My nerves are shredded and it’s just a sprint.

Lando seems much slower than Oscar.

God that was dull. Safe points for Lando, I suspect that might be the story tomorrow and in AD

Comefromaway · 29/11/2025 14:50

Not the most exciting of races.

Brazilianadventure · 29/11/2025 18:20

Quali is more exciting than the sprint.

Lewis out in Q3 again.

George looking good.

I like George but he is always whining about something

Comefromaway · 29/11/2025 19:11

Pole for Oscar again

Brazilianadventure · 29/11/2025 19:13

Turn one tomorrow is going to be interesting.
Well done Oscar, Lando, Max and George.

Was out today but got back in time for qualifying.
Gonna be a stressful watch tomorrow ....but at least its on at a sensible hour (uk)

gingercat02 · 29/11/2025 22:21

Well, not dull quali. Not sure my nerves can take another week of this.
GO LANDO!

Andonthatbombshell · 30/11/2025 09:38

George is my favourite. I'm always up for a moan too. I think he puts his money where his mouth is as he's on the Drivers Association.

Comefromaway · 30/11/2025 10:38

I like George. He has a very innate sense of what is right & wrong & is a rule follower. He’s also clearly got baggage from his childhood, like Max.

I wasn’t aware of George’s backstory but just Googled and wow! So thanks for highlighting that@Comefromaway.

Carlos is another driver who strikes me as having good values. He wants paid race stewards and suggested Karun, Ant and Jolyon Palmer and their excellent analysis of incidents. I

This is old but you might not have seen it:

An interesting glimpse into the Sainz family. They look like fun to spend an afternoon with.

I think the big difference between George’s father & Max’s father is that once George joined Mercedes (his dad had run out of money to fund him so he needed a backer) then George’s dad took a step back whereas Jos Verstappen is a bit too involved always.

but as kids they both faced similar pressures & equating doing well with gaining the love of a parent.

I have seen this, but worth seeing again.

Carlos Sainz SNR is amazing and seems to be a racing Dad more like Anthony Hamilton and John Button. I agree the Sainz family seem fun.

Have you seen Carlos’s YouTube Chanel where there are two episodes. In one SNR Drives the F1 Ferrari and in the other Carlos drives the rally car.

Just watching Gary Neville’s segment on Sky/NowTV. Very interesting to see an elite sportsman analysing a different sport.

Anyone up for predictions?
I want Lando to get it done today, but I think Ocsar, Lando, George, Max for today.

HundredMilesAnHour · 30/11/2025 15:43

I hope Gordon Ramsay hasn’t just jinxed Lando with his “it’s in the bag tonight”.

Huge anticipation for what will happen (or not) at turn 1. Max looks cool as a cucumber walking on to the grid.

Brazilianadventure · 30/11/2025 16:05

Lando played it safe. Sensible.

Comefromaway · 30/11/2025 16:17

I had put £5 on max each way & £1 on a Kimi podium (good odds) but that safety car shook things up

Brazilianadventure · 30/11/2025 16:23

Interesting decision from McLaren.

I think the mclarens are OK after that pit stop. Not losing hope yet.
