We are over halfway through the season. It looks like the WDC will either be Lando or Oscar. Hoping for a grandstand finish in Abu Dhabi.

Max and Leclerc might take each other out yet.

I was really excited about bearman potentially getting a podium....but now I want piastri to narrow the gap and get 4th

Such a small difference between Lando and Oscar. Exciting way to end the season.

Booing is not on. These are all human beings, sportspeople

What was the booing all about? Why do they not like Lando?

Yeah I didnt understand the boos . He was literally faultless during that race.

Dts lot think Mclaren have sabotaged Oscar's car.

I think some people think Lando is too arrogant and so dislike him because of that. I’m not sure though, whether he ever said anything to/about Perez, which might explain today’s booing?

I was expecting Lewis to get some sort of penalty for that tbh. But, I don’t understand why Charles didn’t get one, because he did the same on lap 1: went off track, held his position, but ended up much further ahead of Lewis (and actually he was side by side with Lewis when he went off arguably gained, or at least didn’t lose, a position). But no penalty…

I really dislike the boos no matter who they are for. I may not always be happy about moves, penalties etc. but respect for competitors should be a given.

I have seen lots of people on sm say the same....
...but equally that Oscar is feeling the pressure and not driving as well
...or that McLaren did a modification (to the front suspension iirc) earlier in the season which Lando wanted but Oscar didnt take up the offer...and now is paying off...?

Either way none of these are reasons to boo the way the way he raced today

apparently McLaren upgraded the suspension and Lando chose to use the upgrade but Oscar didn’t.

but Oscar damaged two suspensions & so they’ve been used all his preferred ones & can’t make more as they have reached their cap so he’s having to use the upgraded (Lando preferred) one.

but she could be completely wrong.

Just read a SM post by someone who seems to know what hes talking about putting up the time discrepancies in q3 between Lando and Oscar ( numbers quoted from FIA) apparently Oscar had a drs and power unit issue.
And it was confirmed both Mclarens where running different race set ups in quali so probably for the race too.
Must say SM is full of upset Aussies.

Where do you get your F1 sm? I came off X as I don’t want any money from me (via advertising) to go to Elon Musk. That and it was getting so toxic.

That was an epic race! DS (RBR/Max mad) was actually on the edge of his seat and pacing the room at points. Disappointing to finish with a VSC.
Delighted to see Lando in the championship lead, but hope that there is nothing untoward going on with McLaren.
DS seems to know all the rumours and says Lando is very unpopular outside Britain.

BlueSky or TikTok are good. Most of the accounts I followed on X are also on Bluesky.

Lando is very self deprecating and he used to be lambasted for that (not got the headspace to be WDC). He now seems to have got his confidence back and so people are saying he is too smug. Can't win.

I think a lot of the grid are neuro-diverse and so get misunderstood because of that. George and Max are too similar to each other. They remind me of warring siblings.

This is quite worrying. I also wonder why it wasn't mentioned during the race coverage as it happened very early in the race.

I avoid the majority of social media re F1 as most of it at best is sheer speculation and at worst is just utter nastiness and trolling.

I subscribe to TacticalRab on YouTube for F1 news as he provides sensible clear updates / views without all the hyperbole and is quite upfront about when it’s speculation or there’s some actual facts involved.

I was appalled at the booing of Lando yesterday. Bizarre. He seems to have his head sorted at the moment though so hopefully his reaction was similar to mine (as in “fuck you Mexico!”).

Edit: TacticalRab was talking about the Lawson-marshalls incident last night after the race (I watched his podcast when I went to bed).

The Aussies aren’t known for being gracious winners let alone gracious losers. Oscar himself actually seems to buck that trend, publically at least. Maybe that’s Mark Webber’s good influence or maybe it’s just natural Oscar. Seems like a very solid guy and I feel sorry for him going through such a public rough patch.

I see all sorts of stuff that comes up on my fb reels, but there seem to be criticism of most of the top drivers
Lando - cry-baby/Zacs love child
Oscar - cry baby/sore loser/buckling under pressure
George Russell - cry baby (can you see a theme here...? 🤣) whinger
Max - crashstappen, gets away with murder etc

Not seen much criticism of the Ferrari drivers but I guess usually its about who's going to win the drivers championship
