1-1 At home to Eintracht Frankfurt - I'll take that. And ahead of Dortmund in the league 😁

Cuwins · 08/02/2025 20:15

Brighton v Chelsea showing signs of being a decent game tonight. Of course it may now be completely dire!

MaybeNotBob · 09/02/2025 16:59

Plymouth!

burblish · 09/02/2025 17:01

Bit embarrassing to lose to Plymouth, but we can do without another cup run to be honest - we have enough games to get through as it is. The team Slot put out showed what his priority is, really. Full congrats to Plymouth, though - they played their hearts out and I really like their manager.

DuncinToffee · 09/02/2025 17:24

Resting your players for the derby Wink?

Some questionable haircuts on the Argyle side Grin

Have the Liverpool fans told Plymouth to wind down the celebrations tonight because they haven't won a trophy?

Oblomov25 · 09/02/2025 17:34

Enjoyed Plymouth (my home town) beating Liverpool.

Now watching Aston Villa v Spurs. Hopefully we turn up, and aren't as toothless as we were against Liverpool.

Oblomov25 · 09/02/2025 17:38

Oh good grief Kinsky.

I really don't understand the issue with us celebrating.

MC (or any other team) should take it as a compliment. We are so happy to win a match against teams where we used to be thrashed 5 nil in the past, that surely we are allowed to celebrate.

If we just accepted the win with hardly any celebration, we would probably be moaned at for being arrogant.

What are we supposed to do?

Youngheartsalittletogetherness · 09/02/2025 17:52

Congratulations to Queen's park rangers.
Happy dons supporter.😁😂😂

Plymouth!

My dh is an Argyle season ticket holder living in Lancashire but couldn't get to the game as we had a prior commitment. Our ds lives in Somerset and is there & super excited right now!! It was a great performance and the new manager & the players he has brought in are brilliant.

Listening to Muslic's pre and post-match interviews today, he came across so well - sounds like an amazing person. I think he might have become my favourite non-Liverpool manager after Thomas Frank!

We could really have done with Liverpool getting through 🤦🏼‍♀️ but shows they are beatable!

Laughed at the PA keeper being interviewed and complimented on his excellent saves towards the end and he responded ‘well it’s my job’. Roy Keane would be proud of that one 😂

Oblomov25 · 09/02/2025 19:22

So sick of watching spurs, international break can't come soon enough.

JasonTindallsTan · 09/02/2025 19:47

I feel for spurs fans right now, we had the horrendous injury crisis last season and it’s miserable.

End of the season can't come soon enough, for Spurs and Gills Sad

burblish · 09/02/2025 19:51

@JasonTindallsTan @Oblomov25 Same here - Spurs have had such bad luck with injuries and morale is clearly at rock bottom. Son looks haunted and it's hard to watch Ange in his post-match interviews as his body language is so broken. I would love to see Spurs win the Europa League, but it is going to be so hard with so many of your players in the treatment room and Son so off form.

Acapulco12 · 10/02/2025 11:59

Oh Tottenham… sorry if anyone else got there first - I know I’m very late to the party! I’m starting to get really worried about how the rest of this season will pan out for us.

It would be lovely - if a tall order - for them to win the Europa League trophy, just to put us out of our misery. I do find it ironic that it would give them automatic qualification for next season’s Champions League when, as things stand, they’re woefully inadequate to play that level of football!

@MustTryHarderAndHarder

Here's an interesting take from someone who isn't a Gooner.

Thanks, yes I agree with a lot of that and had worked a lot of it out for myself but was hoping that it wasn't true.

I am from North London and so had the choice of supporting Arsenal or Spurs in the 1980s when I first got interested in football. I chose Arsenal simply because I liked that they had so many black players and seemed so progressive even then.

I really think that they are the best club in the world in the way that they make football inclusive for everyone.

My husband is in a wheelchair and they do so much for disabled people.

Thanks, that was an interesting watch. I wasn’t sure about the point he was trying to make about Jude Bellingham though - was he saying that JB has been mistreated by the media?

MaybeNotBob · 10/02/2025 18:43

Last summer I saw Bellingham getting a lot of criticism for "arrogance" in the press. We all know that the very best players all have an arrogance to them, but he was the only one the attention was on.

Ahh yeah I remember that. He does have a lot of self-confidence, but I find it admirable and think it’s very well deserved as he is a brilliant player and also comes across as a nice person. And his Euros bicycle kick was just unreal 😍😍😍. I did see something funny though in a 2024 news retrospective where a sports journalist was writing about the Euros and said that Saka was brilliant yet seemed like he didn’t know it, but JB seemed very much aware of his own brilliance 😂
