I don't think you get it. PGMOL have been desperate to give you the title for months...

Okay, dear. * Pat pat *

AndNobbyDancing · 20/04/2025 23:35

@burblish just thought you might think my emoji was sarcastic. It wasn't.

Saints avoided the ultimate humiliation with their draw this week- guess I should take something from that.

Commiserations to the Foxes, it sucks -for me only positive is my great friend lives nearby, so I shall be there for the away fixture.

Dunc pleased for you, I thought a. It would be more of a battle this season, and B. You would be in it. Have a soft spot for Moyes anyway.

DuncinToffee · 21/04/2025 00:28

Thanks Nobby

Congratulations to Leeds and Burnley on securing promotion back to the top flight!

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 22/04/2025 21:29

Why isn't the referee doing anything about the City players barging in to Martinez?

Gundogan deliberately hit him on the head so that the game had to stop when Villa were away after a City corner.

They one of the City players barged in to Martinez after the next corner so he couldn't throw the ball quickly.

I really hope Villa win.

DuncinToffee · 22/04/2025 21:47

This was given as a corner and Pickford got yellow carded for pointing it out.

Come on Villa!

It is just the latest example, Rodri handball 2022 was another one

(Just talking about Man City here)

We had one of those against the barcodes, when the ball went out, but they gave a corner. Which they scored from (whilst being offside and blatantly fouling Gabriel).

Tiswa · 22/04/2025 23:47

Well that has made the final run in quite boring although I can potentially see Man City getting second with that run in. I do hope they lose on Sunday someone new winning the FA cup will be amazing!

@MaybeNotBob all teams have it - I am sure Arsenal got something similar against Spurs (from what my Dad says). I do think they were unlucky with the red cards for kicking the ball away but they wanted to make it clear - the corner for time wasting next season will be interesting

But IMO the reason Arsenal haven’t won it and the reason they may well not win the Champions League is because they didn’t sign a striker. And having it signed one in the summer (and Sterling doesn’t count) didn’t in January. Even a 10/15 goal man could have turned half of those draws into wins and it is suddenly a very different end to the season.

MaybeNotBob · 23/04/2025 00:11

Coming from someone who has done nothing but complain ALL season?!? Hilarious!

BitOutOfPractice · 23/04/2025 09:04

Oh I’ve just found this thread. I wondered where you were all hiding.

Wolves fan here who, like @DuncinToffee is very glad that the expected relegation battle has evaporated. We can’t stop winning at the moment. The new manager is a genius.

But so are Arsenal - the whole dark arts thing I think blew up in their face because Referees were desperate not to get caught out.

But @MaybeNotBob you can’t honestly believe that there is a conspiracy and that the decisions against Arsenal are outside of the norm? Because Arsenal fans are starting to be the club who complain about everything and no one likes that.

yes Saka has been injured but other players play a whole lot of minutes and don’t- working out training plans is a thing - Liverpool have spent money on getting a new fitness man in and plan and it seems to have worked.

but they didn’t buy a striker and that ultimately I think is going to cost them.

Wolves have been in great form, should be an enjoyable last few games for you. Love Ait-Nouri, had him in my FPL a while now and he usually does good Smile

BitOutOfPractice · 23/04/2025 10:01

Air-Nouri was immense at the weekend. Literally throwing himself in front of shots when necessary. Really rate him though he rarely grabs the headlines. I’m so pleased we’ve put this run together - especially as most of it was without Cunha.

First the points, then the pints

First the points, then the pints

I like that a lot!

Moyes went to visit our new stadium last week, he said he would do that once we were safe.

We are going to miss Tarkowski but hopefully it gives the youngsters a chance to step up. It would be great to see O'Brien play in his natural position. 🍺

536 days and Arsenal fans are still whinging on about this goal. Despite a lengthy VAR check, all three incidents being cleared and the fact that they only had one shot on target in the entire game, yep, it’s a conspiracy they haven’t won the league. Couldn’t possibly be that they just aren’t good enough?

I am generally a live and let live football fan, when my team is playing against you, I want to beat you, and if your results affect my teams position in the league I want you to get beaten, but I can pretty much be happy for most teams in the league depending on their results and how they’re getting on. But the Arsenal conspiracy theory and the relentless whinging of their fan base is so exhausting. They never seem to acknowledge when they get a lucky decision or when their players escape sanction (in the match referred to above should Kai Havertz have been sent off for a studs up tackle on Sean Longstaff? Yep. But the decision went his way. These things happen. It’s probably why Bruno Guimaraes shoved him in the head as he went past - also lucky to escape a red - but I can reflect and say that, you’d never get it from an Arsenal fan, or at least not the vocal minority on social media) or when they simply just don’t do enough to win a game. It’s always someone else’s fault.

Brefugee · 23/04/2025 10:22

do fans/clubs honestly believe that the refs favour one team over another?

Or is it just whinging? In the Bundesliga we regularly have clubs saying that they don't want a particular ref - and i totally get that (it is one ref that everyone doeesn't want tho) - because he was involved in a betting scandal. He has been allowed back to reffing after a suspension, and tbh i think he is more than scrupulous about applying the rule book, but i don't want him either.

BitOutOfPractice · 23/04/2025 10:24

@DuncinToffee have you seen the footage of Pereira in the pub after the match? He just goes out and has a pint at his local Wetherspoons! You can imagine how much we love that!

DuncinToffee · 23/04/2025 10:26

It does feel at times that certain refs are against your club, both on the pitch and behind VAR but I don't think there is too much in it.

I do like to moan about the ref (ask DH Grin) but it's part of the game. Love to hear a bit of ref booing.

No I haven't but that sounds good.

I can't imagine Arteta having a pint in the local Wink

It's a cliche but there is something special about a manager loving the club and its fans and embracing it.
