Football fans join in to share the joy, the heartache and VAR frustration ⚽

“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.”

Just seen it. That looked weird going down like that, but bad also.

I hope it's nothing too serious.

I hope Bentancur is ok. That looked absolutely horrible.

Looked absolutely horrible, I've had to turn the game off because you just feel wrong watching after something like that.

I've seen on Twitter he's conscious, talking and being taken to hospital for further tests. Hopefully it's something minor and he's up and about as soon as possible

JasonTindallsTan · 08/01/2025 21:51

Yeah Chappers said at half time that he was conscious and talking. He looked really odd immediately prior to going down, his jaw looked like it was swinging in the wind during the jostling for the corner. Must have been very scary for him. Porro noticed v quickly though and summoned help. Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.

There's some horrid bugs going around at the moment, I stood up earlier and had a proper funny thirty seconds! I can't imagine playing a game of football while feeling like it. Fingers crossed it's minor

Dyche has been sacked

Tarkan · 09/01/2025 17:44

I saw the headline saying "second premier league manager sacked" and I knew it had to be Dyche.

Dyche has been sacked

How do you feel about that?

LlynTegid · 09/01/2025 18:58

Not a surprise Sean Dyche would be sacked probably this month, exact timing is though.

How do you feel about that?

Happy enough.

I thank him for keeping us up in '23, guiding us throught the points deduction last year but this season has been absolutely dreadful.

The Old Lady deserves a far better send off 💙

Who do you think would be a good, and likely, replacement?

DuncinToffee · 09/01/2025 19:33

Absolutely no idea

It's a very weird situation for sure 😅

David Moyes is available...

DuncinToffee · 09/01/2025 20:07

And in talks apparently......

I think we might be at a point that we take anyone, almost anyone as Rooney is a firm no

OP posts:
AndNobbyDancing · 09/01/2025 22:41

Well I wish you better that what we have got.

JasonTindallsTan · 09/01/2025 23:04

Did I see Mourinho was a possibility for the Everton job or was that a fever dream?

The delectable Rob Edwards got the boot from Luton today as well. Could do far worse than have him floating round the sidelines 👀😂

DuncinToffee · 11/01/2025 09:29

Welcome back Moyes it is then, he was our manager when DS was born ShockGrin

Mixed feelings but will have the support.

His second stint at West Ham did ok for us, I mean that's when we won the Conference League and a trophy is a trophy. 😁 Good luck to you.

Not going to discuss last night's match but tbh I think I said in here when the draw was made that that would be us out. 🙈

DuncinToffee · 11/01/2025 11:24

I see your match has been postponed, weather conditions?

OP posts:
Tarkan · 11/01/2025 12:00

Yeah they did a pitch inspection yesterday and apparently it was frozen so they called it off then.

Better than waiting until people are travelling to the match at least, it's around 2.5 hours to get there I think so some people probably would have headed off quite early today if it hadn't been called off already.

Brefugee · 11/01/2025 14:38

We've started putting on the long johns and vests in preparation for Gladbach vs Bayern this evening. We had a good record against them until the last 2 seasons, home and away, so here's hoping...

Cuwins · 11/01/2025 17:35

Safely through for Brighton.
Absolutely delighted to see Solly March on the score sheet after over a year out injured. Something like 400 days I think. Also I believe that's his 3rd serious knee injury- takes a lot of determination to come back from that.

AvidBee · 11/01/2025 17:37

Anyone else see Maresca's comments about Chilwell yesterday? He refused to put him in the squad for what is likely to be his final match day with the club, after removing him from the squad

I suppose the only hope can be that the time on the sidelines has given him long enough to recover from his injuries and he can have a good run at another club

DuncinToffee · 12/01/2025 14:41

Tamworth showing why it is a disgrace that replays have been removed from the FA cup.

OP posts:
Oblomov24 · 12/01/2025 14:48

Watching Tamworth play well against Spurs. We just bundled one in.
