Football fans join in to share the joy, the heartache and VAR frustration ⚽

“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.”

Watching Villa. Why is that female commentator so awful?

A nice undramatic win there. Nicely controlled.

Sensibly refereed, few cards, no controversial decisions. If only we could have some of that in the Prem...

The referee had absolute control.
Took no arguing and no shit and the players knew it.
He was firm and fair-so refreshing and a shame that it is so rare that it warrants and mention.

Great performance for The Arsenal!

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 03/10/2024 18:06

I like the Spurs kit tonight.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 03/10/2024 18:10

Mikey Moore is real talent.

Mikey Moore is real talent.

He is, I love to see him get game time. His family live local to me and my youngest had a photo taken with him last year, it's becoming his most prized possession Smile

DuncinToffee · 03/10/2024 19:55

I am chuffed for the Villa fans and their win last night, great to see.

Sorry for not posting much but I've been absolutely slammed with a theatre production (I'm wardrobe mistress). Missed the last Arbroath home game as my body was utterly broken and I could barely walk but we won and got off the bottom of the table.

On our way to Gayfield right now to play Caley Thistle. Who if you look them up are in a lot of financial issues right now. Big Dunc Ferguson has apparently admitted that he's working for nothing it's that bad for them.

I've already had a few wines so sorry for any future posts but I said to my husband earlier that this is literally the only time we can leave the house wearing the same thing and it's not weird. 🤣

DuncinToffee · 05/10/2024 14:28

Give Big Dunc a wave from me and enjoy the match!

Tarkan · 05/10/2024 15:19

I waved my pie at him then we told him off for his language if that's good enough. 🤣

They also had a fundraiser with sweets from a local business at the half time draw table so of course I had to help out there too.

Gladbach predictably lost against Augsburg last night and are desperately awful.
Sheffield Flippin' Wednesday came from 1-0 down to win 1-2 at Coventry so actually I'm fine about that.

Tarkan · 05/10/2024 17:20

We won we won we won!!!!! 1-0 and yes we may have taken the piss out of big Dunc a little. Ref was appalling by the end though.

And of course I was sitting watching the lovely West Ham updates from today too.

That's the first time I've seen a home win at Gayfield since March. Our last home match was a win but I wasn't there so that felt amazing and my throat may be quite sore now.

Just remind me not to celebrate too hard tonight. It's dress rehearsal at theatre tomorrow. 🤣

EboueEboue · 05/10/2024 17:44

I didn't think we were looking like scoring, until Southampton scored!

Then we looked like scoring!

DuncinToffee · 05/10/2024 20:05

Enjoy your evening Tarkan

A hard fought draw, and Pickford saves Gordon's penalty ⛔

Yes, well played, but what on earth did Tarkowski think he was doing? What was he protesting about?

He lost his head for a moment

Still not sure about the DCL penalty but Gana should have buried that.

I haven't watched the game (apparently it's very boring!), but;

Mainoo, Digne, Tielemans, Garnacho and Evans have all kicked the ball away this half. How many bookings for doing so then? Drumroll please…..

Zero. Not one. #AVLMUN

Yes. What a comeback from Brighton. So pleased Danny scored. He tries so hard.

What a difference a week makes - 3 games, 3 defeats (1 for Spurs and 2 for Gills) congrats @Cuwins a nicely executed 2nd half from your boys.

Oblomov24 · 06/10/2024 19:15

Well that was an embarrassing spurs loss to Brighton.

Cuwins · 06/10/2024 21:15

Fabulous 2nd half from us although I'm not sure what Spurs were doing! My dad is a spurs fan so I feel I won't mention it. 😂
Not sure who it was who mentioned Welbeck but yes I'm delighted he got a goal too- fabulous player, had been a huge asset to us the last couple of seasons and amazingly fit given his age. Great to see Rutter off the mark as well.
I don't think life is ever going to be boring under Hurzeler anyway!

MrsMitford3 · 06/10/2024 22:03

Spurs even for Spurs

Brefugee · 07/10/2024 07:19

Spurs doing Spurs things...
If it helps. The other week Schalke (relegated last season to 2nd division) were 3-0 up the other day and eventually lost by 5-3...at home.

DuncinToffee · 07/10/2024 14:56

Not sure what this all means, just to share

Manchester City are claiming victory in their landmark legal battle with the Premier League over the associated-party transaction (APT) rules that govern commercial spending by state and multi-club ownerships.
