Football fans join in to share the joy, the heartache and VAR frustration ⚽

“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.”

Oooof Spurs got through the game with Coventry last night by their skin of their teeth! This season is shaping up to be crappy!!

JasonTindallsTan · 21/09/2024 19:16

Dismal showing from Newcastle today. Opportunity to go top of the league absolutely squandered and yet again we’re playing like a team who have never met each other. Oh well. Only City at Home next week. Should be no bother 🙄

Brefugee · 21/09/2024 20:44

Gladbach lost again. Sheffield Wednesday lost again (am expecting nothing but relegation for them this year). Ho hum.

In other news i may actually be i my home town and get to see a match next moth. I'm not entirely sure i actually want to 😂

DuncinToffee · 22/09/2024 09:45

We have our first point. I haven't seen anything from the match yet apart from our goal but reading comments it looks like subs were wrong again.

We do have a long injury/sickness list

Well, that was inevitable...

Oblomov24 · 22/09/2024 18:42

Harland took the ball out of the back of the net and threw it at someone's head!

MrsMitford3 · 22/09/2024 18:53

Am so so proud of the Arsenal. Stupendous second half. And any football fan who laughs at inconsistent refereeing is crazy. I follow a brilliant Arsenal account on twitter and this def makes me uncomfortable.

And that was the least of it!

JasonTindallsTan · 22/09/2024 19:52

City v Arsenal was a good game. A draw felt like the right result for the neutral.

DuncinToffee · 22/09/2024 20:12

So what about Arsenal's second goal? Some controversy there as well

might get some popcorn

Well, I think the red card was to make amends for our second goal.

And that was the least of it!

Some might say that a “reckless challenge” is ok when checked on VAR if you’re wearing a City shirt, but if you wear an Arsenal shirt it warrants a yellow card… 🤬🤔

AdviceNeeded2024 · 22/09/2024 21:37

I’m just bitter obviously because I so wanted our long awaited win against City 😭

Now to hunt Michael Oliver down and see if his City shirt needs a wash… 😂😂😂 (joking.. sort of!)

I meant to say to make amends for our first goal!

Cuwins · 22/09/2024 21:49

Bit frustrating for us today as felt we could have won that however forest were very good at times so we probably could have lost too!
On a positive I actually got to watch it properly as my DD was out.

Tarkan · 22/09/2024 23:37

Arbroath got their first win of the season yesterday. And I wasn't there because my fibro was being a dick to me so I could barely walk through my house never mind the at-least half hour walk I would have had out to Gayfield. DH used my season ticket to get in and enjoy the match though. He works shifts so can't make it to many matches.

EboueEboue · 23/09/2024 15:34

Oh dear, the irony of Haaland telling Arteta to "Stay classy"!

I didn't like Haaland before because he tended to score against us. Now I can see he's just a petulant bully with no self awareness.

Not to mention a coward for throwing the ball at big Gabi's head while he wasn't looking. I doubt he would try that to his face.

DuncinToffee · 23/09/2024 16:08

Yes, Andy Bush on Absolute radio sounded happy for once when talking about Everton.

He was also saying something about sleeping overnight at Goodison Park, I think.

It's a yearly charity event, the Goodison Sleepout to raise awareness for homelessness
