Football fans join in to share the joy, the heartache and VAR frustration ⚽

“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.”

So, less than 3 minutes into the Southampton ManUre game, and Diallo kicks the ball away to delay a free kick.

What do you think the referee does?

Correct! Absolutely nothing!

even that early, it's a yellow card. Fucking ridiculous not to show it.

Gladbach had a good first half that almost resembled football but lost 3-1 at home to stuttgart because they're useless fuckers.

Sheffield Sodding Wednesday went 1-0 up in the 90+3 minute, and conceded the equalizer 2 minutes later. Useless fuckers.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 14/09/2024 19:11

And so, Szoboszlai was on a yellow card, he committed a foul, the free kick was given and he immediately ran over to the ball to boot it away.

What do you think the referee did?

Go on, have a guess...

What are our predictions for the North London Derby this weekend? I think 2-2. Shared points 🙌 Son and Porro to score for Spurs and Saka and Havertz to score for Arsenal. A very rough guess obviously - and maybe wishful thinking 😂😂 but we’ll see!

I never enjoy the NLD, always make me nervous. Our high line press worries me as the defence struggle to recover quickly enough as shown at Newcastle. There will be plenty of opportunities with the number of players ruled out for Arsenal but whether they are converted remains to be seen. However I will be positive and go with a 2-1 Spurs. Son and Madders to score.

TheSleepingGiant · 14/09/2024 19:29

Back from the Gillingham Tranmere game, 3-0 Gills despite going down to 10 men yet again and Tranmere timewasting all first half! It appears the dreaded Manager of the Month curse doesen't apply to the Gills Grin (Mark Bonner was the winner for August).

Must admit I did think of you when I saw that, it didn't go unnoticed in the studio either. The inconsistency is tough to take.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 14/09/2024 21:54

Have the Malaysians been betting on the number of cards in this game?

Ooh that would be good if your prediction is right! I’m quite nervous too 😭 I know it’s only week 4 of the season, but we’ve not done very well so far and tomorrow will be quite nerve-wracking. I don’t think it helps that the Spurs manager has a trend of winning things in his second season. I don’t want him to be disappointed! It would be a lovely psychological boost if we did well tomorrow - and this season! 🤩🤩

‘Man Shitty’ 😂😂😂 that’s given me the laugh I needed. As I should have known, Spurs are starting to suffer in the NLD today. I’m feeling a bit sad and sorry for myself! Surely it’s way too early in the season to be feeling like this?!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 15/09/2024 16:43

Phew! That was a bit more squeaky bum time than I'd hoped.

Yes, we couldn't keep the ball in the second half.

Well, Sterling didn't get a hat-trick. He hardly touched the ball and when he did he was dispossessed. Room for improvement.

@Acapulco12 yes too early, it's not how we start its how we finish Grin

Arsenal's back line was immense, particularly Saliba, but so bloody frustrating to see Spurs continuously attempting to walk the ball into the net instead of having a go, especially as we are so loose at the back. Would have liked to have seen Dragsin on for some of the game. Very disappointing Sad

JasonTindallsTan · 15/09/2024 21:11

Two absolute thunderbastards scored by Schär and Barnes for Newcastle today. 3 massive points. Unbeaten run continues.

cheesychipsontheoche · 17/09/2024 22:23

Crazy penalty shootout at Fulham tonight - well done Preston!

AndNobbyDancing · 17/09/2024 22:32

Sorry Dunc not convinced we deserved that or that it will be good for us in the long run

DuncinToffee · 17/09/2024 23:03

No worries Nobby, that was dreadful to watch from both teams.

Bringing Young on and no striker ffs, asking for trouble. Not sure Dyche has a lot of goodwill left.

Goodison is cursed, she won't let go Smile

I just heard that Toto Schillaci died, at only 59. I had liked football before, but Italia 90 was the tournament that made me fall irrevocably head over heels in love with the beautiful game. I still vividly remember Schillaci lighting up the tournament seemingly out of nowhere (yes, he played for Juventus but was basically unknown outside Italy, as was often the case in those pre-internet days(!), and was little heralded even in Italy). He never reached those career heights again, but for that one month in the summer of 1990, he was an absolute footballing giant. RIP Toto.

Brefugee · 18/09/2024 14:59

gosh, that's very young. Cancer, wasn't it?
2 standouts for me from Italia 90: Toto Schillaci und Roberto Baggio

kiterunning · 18/09/2024 20:12

Man City's CL kit looks as if they've thrown up all over it. Hideous.

Yes, I think he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2022.

Italia 90 was incredible: Schillaci, Baggio, Milla, Matthaus, Gazza, Lineker... It's still the tournament I remember most vividly (you never forget your 'first', eh! 😄).

CumbrianExile · 18/09/2024 23:54

Yes RIP Toto.

I remember having the Gazza crying T shirts after Italia 90. Me, my dad and my brother. #Memories

Cuwins · 19/09/2024 06:37

Through to the next round for us and still unbeaten this season.
