Is anyone enjoying the start of the new season?

There must be plenty of potential Herbies in English schools. But most of them will end up playing Union. When you can earn more (a lot more) playing for a third tier football team than a top SL side, you can't expect to keep the young talent.

What did the panel think about the Second Test? A much better effort, but we badly lack the guile to beat an excellent defence, despite having plenty of field position. On another site, I saw someone remark that if we'd had either of the Kangaroos' halves in our side, we would have won. I think that's fair enough.

I thought it was a great effort. Much better than last week. Shame we just couldn't break their defence.

Trouble is, @Formby , I'm not convinced by Lewis. I'd agree that if you put him in ther 17, give him more than 10 minutes, or why bother, but when he did come on, he just did a bit of arm-grabbing. Not easy to adjust to the pace of a Test match coming on as a sub, granted, but I tihnk they would target him in defence mercilessly. Williams has been ordinary, but the choice is poor. These days we haven't even got a Sam Tomkins, let alone a Ellery Hanley or a Shaun Edwards. Are Smith, Lewis and Williams really the only candidates? I suppose they are, and that's an all-time low-water mark in the talent pool if you ask me.

Wow! Great result for York! I don't think anyone was expecting that result.

I was half-watching it in the pub tonight. Great effort from York indeed! But, in the bigger picture, good news if the promoted sides can be competitive.

I’m watching. What a start from KR.

It was. Brisbane started quite untidy really, but they looked to be coming into their stride towards the end of the first half. Still anyone's game.

Really good effort from us tonight, we really dominated Hull, they barely got out of their own half in the first 40, I haven't seen us show such forward domination in a long time. And the tries came, four of them by half-time, all converted, and that was effectively game over.

Hopefully about to watch a close, exciting game on tv just now.

Yeah, sorry to disappoint! 😛Despite unfortunate injuries, Leigh were pretty poor, and just couldn't cope. Wigan really laying down a marker here. Delighted with that team performance.

What did you make of your team's outing, @Formby ?

I really enjoyed the game but was tense up until the last 5 minutes. Snyed had great kicking game but felt the team were gelling together unlike last year. Pleased with the new signings.
The new light display and extra loud music needs some getting used to!

If Sneyd had had a bit more pace, he'd have been a world-beater. Great kicker and good rugby brain.

Going by tonight's game, HKR won't have it all their own way by any means against York, who were gritty opponents. Saints 'ought' to have too much for Catalans, and Wakey have been Wigan's bogey team in the past. And as for Wire/Leigh, well, that's anyone's game.

Pretty pleased with how we're going without Field and French.

Great game to watch last night. Feel York meeting the challenge of Superleague head on.
Wire v Leigh close call and play each other the week before but not always an indication on how the cup game will go. Hopefully Wire home advantage will count.

Keep your discipline and you should win, Leigh's is terrible.
