Are Leverkusen going to become Germany's Invincibles?

Brefugee · 24/02/2024 09:02

in the past Leverkusen have fallen in the last 2 weeks and let Bayern romp past them (despite Gladbach doing everyone a solid and not losing to bayern) so I've been worried that this may happen again. But they are now 11 points ahead, but Bayern have a game in hand. But that still leaves 8 points with fewer and fewer games, and now Tuchel is leaving they are a bit rudderless (or will finally pull together, who knows)

Today Bayern are playing Leipzig which means most other fans are wanting both to lose. Gladbach are playing Bochum. Who beat bayern last week. and we are staring a relegation battle in the face. Sigh

@YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue

What a goal. I love him.

What did his celebration mean?

Brefugee · 24/02/2024 11:03

unfortunately, despite being in actual germany where the actual goal was scored i cannot "view this video in your region"

did he do that Kosovo-Albanian eagle thing again?

ETA: have seen it now. What a goal. Presume he either really did have a twinge, or he's taking the piss out of an injured player? i will research

Tarkan · 24/02/2024 11:27

Off to Gayfield today. We have a ref who has been decent for us in the past which is a rarity so fingers crossed for a fair game at least.

Hopefully I don't get too cold, weather has turned chilly here again recently.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 24/02/2024 13:31

I'm guessing he was trying to wind up his coach - you can see that it worked!

Yes, that makes sense. I wondered why his coach looked so shocked but didn't put 2 and 2 together.

Tarkan · 24/02/2024 18:14

I spoke too soon. Some appalling decisions from that ref today. We got a point but it's gutting that we were winning until something like the 95th minute.

Also the guys who sit behind me pointed out a player for Caley Thistle called Carragher and said it was Jamie Carragher's son. I walked away thinking they were making it up, wouldn't be the first time to be fair. But they were right.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 24/02/2024 19:13

Poor FC Isle of Man lost 6-1...

DuncinToffee · 24/02/2024 19:20

I will join you in the 'it's gutting feeling' Tarkan

I would have been happy with a draw beforehand but now it feels like a loss

And still nothing about our appeal

How are the nerves @YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue @MustTryHarderAndHarder and the rest of the Gooners on here?

Mine never settle until the final whistle. My brave DS lives in newcastle and is in a pub watching. Hoping he isn't wearing red 😂

A lot more nervy now that NC have woken up.

Brefugee · 24/02/2024 21:16

Blimey, Sheffield Wednesday won at home today. Pass the smelling salts!
Gladbach also won at home - 5-2 which was very exciting.
am enjoying Arsenal vs Newcastle because i have no skin in the game.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 24/02/2024 21:44

I however am not enjoying it 🙄

Arsenal have been much better than us, we’ve not turned up at all.

Although the fight back now appears to be on. Shame we’ve left it until the 84th minute 🤦🏼‍♀️

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 24/02/2024 21:45

Was almost disappointed we scored as I had Gabriel in my FPL 😂

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 24/02/2024 21:59

Shame we let one in and didn't score more. Newcastle deserved a drubbing after the last game.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 24/02/2024 22:05

Well given Arsenal only managed one shot on goal last time round it wasn’t difficult for them to improve 👍🏻

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 24/02/2024 22:06

At least you didn't cheat to get your goal this time.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 24/02/2024 22:18

🤣🤣 are ye lot still gannin on about that.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 24/02/2024 22:19

Like you lot would forget a perceived injustice! 🤣🤣🤣

DuncinToffee · 24/02/2024 22:21

Nay handbags from me. I can accept getting beat fair and square 😏

On to Tuesday. Let’s hope we play better against Blackburn!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 24/02/2024 22:36

I can accept getting beat fair and square, but it sticks in my craw when the opposition gets away with blatant cheating. I defy any football fan that wouldn't!
