Good.

Women - elite sportswomen included - are not on this earth for men to cop a cheeky feel or snatch a forced kiss. No matter if in private or with the eyes of the world on them.

I’ve yet to see a male sportsman get his baws jiggled or be kissed vigorously when they’ve collected a medal so can only assume that some men feel that women are fair game.

No they are not.

No excuses. No trying to justify it. No undue pressure on women or their families.

Just no.

Prosecutors investigating whether football chief’s kiss was sexual assault | Spain women's football team | The Guardian

His mother has gone on hunger strike because of the “unwarranted, inhumane and bloodthirsty” hunt of her son. “Why are they taking it out on him?” she asked Efe. She pleaded for the public to understand her plight, arguing that this sort of situation could happen to anyone.
She described her son as “incapable of hurting anyone”, and backed his view of what had happened during the kiss. “There is no sexual abuse since there is consent on both sides, as the images prove.”

Hunger strike cos those nasty faux feminists are picking on her 46 year old little boy?

Only 6/140 members of the federation are women.
Rubiales won't resign, he'll only jump when forced.
Same as Vilda wouldn't resign after La 15 complained and twelve of them didn't play as a result.
Vilda's father Ángel Vilda is the head of women’s football at the federation.
It sounds like a hot mess of machismo, power play and nepotism.
Ángel Vilda said, “Jorge wouldn’t have lasted 15 minutes in the national team” without Rubiales's support. Vilda has always gone out of his way to praise Rubiales.
Interesting the double think he's doing now, claiming it both nonsense and inappropriate in the same breath. Note that Vilda hasn't resigned like all the fellow coaches have, to stand with the women. Presumably because he knows they wouldn't want him back.

Note from the translator

A while ago, I helped translate a documentary about how Spain's women's team revolted against their old coach, Ignacio Quereda. He was homophobic, misogynistic, and abusive

Sadly, much hasn't changed under Vilda. This gives some much needed context
