Jeez that was tough. We were all over them until Xhaka stupidly wound them up. The ref gave them everything, as usual Saka got absolutely no protection. We were doing far too much time wasting (I know, I know). I think the penalty was fair, unfortunately, but I'm glad Salah missed!

We need to do better.

I think I need a lie-down after Liverpool v Arsenal. What a match!

Indeed, very entertaining - thought Liverpool were going to score the winner at the very end but those 2 Ramsdale saves🔥

Brefugee · 09/04/2023 18:38

gosh that was exciting, i love a shouty goalie! but what was that with the linesman hitting a Liverpool player in the face?

We're just back from Gladbach somehow actually winning a match. Dire first half, not bad 2nd half and 2-0 so can't complain. But we have 2 players that the ultras whistled when the team sheet was read out. Both leaving on a free at the end of the season, both being lazy arses. They deserve it, tbh, and I'm not in the habit of whistling my own players.

42isthemeaning · 09/04/2023 19:14

As an LFC fan I'll take the point.
Some amazing saves by Ramsdale. What an exciting match!
What happens if an assistant ref commits a foul, then? Has there ever been a precedent set for this kind of thing, given that it could be an 8 match ban if the tables were turned!

when will Saka Star boy get Harry Kane level of protection?? Orbinho (a twitter stats guy) says he has actually been given more fouls versus despite being percentage wise much more fouled hmmm

BitOutOfPractice · 09/04/2023 20:34

Any Chelsea fans about. Thisxeolves fan is still in shock 😬

Not sure what happened in the second half. We just couldn't do anything right.

I hope we learn from it.

Oblomov23 · 09/04/2023 21:27

The football recently had been eventful, entertaining, at least. Nearly all matches.

EddieHoweisMYmanager · 09/04/2023 21:52

As a neutral the Liverpool/Arsenal match was a great watch.

Ideally I’d have like Brighton to get a draw yesterday so I sympathise with them the ref calls. It’s shambolic really.

AndNobbyDancing · 09/04/2023 22:08

Brighton should have had the win.

Liverpool were excellent second half, really enjoyed that.

And respect to CP, Roy has more points in two games than Patrick in 11.

DuncinToffee · 09/04/2023 13:48

Massive game for Notts County tomorrow Mumsafan

I know - feel quite nervous for them - I think the weekend result gave them a bit of hope but Wrexham are good.

Mumsafan · 10/04/2023 10:20

Investigation into the elbow on Robbo, and so there should be.

Fab needs to be back on the pens, that's two now Mo has missed.

So much going on in that game!

Also couldn't believe the Leeds game. Saw it was 1-0 but when I checked back and it's 1-5. WTF?

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 10/04/2023 12:31

Good that there's an investigation, but Liverpool also need to have a word with their players - they were very handsy with the referees yesterday.

Lakeyloo · 10/04/2023 16:38

DuncinToffee · 09/04/2023 12:08

And again

The PGMOL has admitted a mistake was made by the match officials and VAR when not awarding a penalty to Brighton in Saturday's Premier League game against Tottenham

Not much use to Brighton Confused

Absolut joke 😡This is our 3rd apology from this bunch of jokers this season. This could make the difference between us qualifying for some kind of European football and not. Some of the decisions on Saturday were so clear cut, it does make you wonder if something is going on here. Four out of five obvious decisions ( and in the eyes of neutrals too) given against us IN ONE GAME when they shouldn't have been.
Watching Dermot Gallagher on Sky Sports this morning when asked to discuss each decision....it was like watching a politician when asked to give a one word answer. Embarrassing !! How can they be so protected ? No one is allowed to question them. There seems to be no accountability. I would be very interested to see an investigation ....... so much going on behind the scenes that we aren't aware of.
But they said sorry, again.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 10/04/2023 18:17

I agree with that. We're looking at Xhaka's stupid fight and thinking that that was where we might have lost the league this season, but when you go back and look at the times the PGMOL have apologised to us as well - that is where points have been dropped that are not our fault.

AndNobbyDancing · 11/04/2023 21:58

City were good tonight

BitOutOfPractice · 11/04/2023 22:18

As a wolves fan I am equally aggrieved at decisions this season. We too have received apologies. From there “not being enough cameras” at Anfield, to the inexplicable sending off for “approaching the referee”, we have also had more than our fair share of shit. There is much discontent with the system at Molineux too. Enough bad decisions to make a real difference to our season 🤷‍♀️

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 13/04/2023 12:07

Wow, this is quite big.

Premier League clubs have today collectively agreed to withdraw gambling sponsorship from the front of clubs’ matchday shirts

Premier League statement

Clubs agree to withdraw gambling sponsorship from the front of their matchday shirts, the first UK sports league to do so

Great decision!

DuncinToffee · 13/04/2023 12:25

But this is a bit disappointing

"To assist clubs with their transition away from shirt-front gambling sponsorship, the collective agreement will begin at the end of the 2025/26 season"

OP posts:
YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 13/04/2023 12:53

It was always going to take time, they've got sponsorships tied in that have to be allowed to run out, or the lawyers would be making a packet.

DuncinToffee · 13/04/2023 12:56

I know, Everton have a 'multi year' deal with stake.
Still happy with this decision, now extend it to stadium advertising as well.

OP posts:
MustTryHarderAndHarder · 13/04/2023 13:09

Good news.

The gambling adverts make me so sad. Shame that they can't ban them from tv as well.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 13/04/2023 13:12

This made me laugh on the bbc sport website:

From a Chelsea support re last night's match:

Quite confident that we will score 3 at home. Not against Madrid, just the remainder of the season.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 13/04/2023 13:13

Someone else added that they would probably be own goals.
