Oh wow - I’ve just seen that Forest Green Rovers (who parted ways with Big Dunc earlier today) have named the head of their academy, Hannah Dingley, as their new caretaker boss. First woman to ever manage a professional men’s first team in England!

Just found out my local team Arbroath are starting up a senior women's team for the first time ever. I really hope I can get to as many matches as possible once they're all set up.

It's so weird as DH suggested to me the other day that this season we go to a few matches by Montrose women as they're the closest women's team to us and then this gets announced.

Looks as though pre-season training will start in the coming days for most clubs - it feels as though the previous season only just finished! I saw a press comment on how the players performed in the Eng-Isr U-21 semifinal to the effect that what can you expect at the end of an 11 month season. The players involved in the tournament aren’t going to get a proper break before this season starts either, are they.

Anyway, musings on player welfare aside, how do you all feel about your club’s transfer dealings so far in the current transfer window? I’m delighted with Liverpool nabbing both Mac Allister and Szoboszlai; less happy with Real Madrid snapping up so many young talents, as usual - jammy buggers. Of the players leaving us as free agents, only Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn’t yet announced a new club - wonder who will come in for him?
