Smith Rowe isn't starting😒

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 22/06/2023 17:48

A good first half. We need Smith Rowe on!

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 22/06/2023 18:40

He's on at last!

So much better in the second half. Let's hope we can hold on and SR can score.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 22/06/2023 18:53

And he scored!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 22/06/2023 18:54

Yay! Go Emile!

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 22/06/2023 18:55

Germany and Israel drawing the moment!

Let's hope it stays like that.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 22/06/2023 18:56

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 22/06/2023 18:54

Yay! Go Emile!

Really hope we don't let him go. Love him.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 22/06/2023 18:58

OMG. Germany and Israel drew!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 22/06/2023 19:00

Likewise. We need a bigger squad, and he's got so much potential to grow.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 22/06/2023 19:00

Looking forward to France Italy tonight.

Brefugee · 22/06/2023 19:52

Any Leeds fans here? apparently one of their potential trainers is Daniel Farke.

Tarkan · 22/06/2023 21:11

Renewed my season ticket for Arbroath yesterday. It's my last year of being a student so just £130 for the season, it'll be double that for me next year.

Having previously been an Arsenal season ticket holder, I officially hate you!

Brefugee · 23/06/2023 10:24

how much are season tickets in the UK?
Non student cheapest one for us is, i think, something like €250 but standing. Mine is €420 seated upper tier of the home end. All seats in the home end (upper tier all seated, lower tier all standing except for two slivers of seats a the side before it becomes the straight side.)

Sheffield Wednesday seems to be about the same as I pay (and was also in the 1st division) so that seems bloody expensive to me.

I'm also a West Ham fan if you want another reason for that. 🤣

I know we're lucky with the prices here. Arbroath are currently in the Scottish Championship but we're still partly a part-time team so it's crazy that we ended up in the playoffs for the Premiership the season before this last one. We obviously didn't go up but in a way I'm glad as we struggled enough in the Championship to stay up this last season.

We only have seating on one side of Gayfield so my £130 (£260 full adult price) is for my own seat. The terracing tickets are £240 (£110 for a student) but I have fibromyalgia and a dodgy back so I couldn't stand for a full match nowadays so that extra £20 is worth it for me to know I can sit down for every home match.

We have great pies too, they come from the butcher down the road from my house and the steak and black pudding pie is amazing. I'm not the biggest black pudding fan but there's so much gravy with the steak that it soaks into the black pudding and makes it taste amazing (I found the plain steak pies went too soggy and I would always make a mess with them so steak and black is definitely the better one for me).

It's only £5 for me to have a pie and coffee (coffee isn't the best but hot drinks are definitely needed in the colder weather, we have the closest football stadium to the sea in Europe apparently and since we're on the North Sea it can get rather chilly through the winter months, and on windy days we've seen players get hit by waves when taking a corner. It's great when the away goalies don't understand how bad the wind can be and find their high kicks blown back towards them. Grin

We pay £692 each for ours at St James’, up from £654 last season. Cheapest is about £430ish in level 7 where you need oxygen as it’s so high - great view though! U18’s in family area are only £86 though so great value for money there.

UCL tickets have been priced at £55 so for the home group games that’s costing an extra £330 for us across two tickets. It’s an expensive business but it’s pretty much our hobby and I’d far rather this than cycling or golf!!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 23/06/2023 12:37

My last season ticket, more than 5 years ago, was about £1300. Good seats though, at the front of the top tier, near the corner. Great views.

These tickets also included the first 7 FA Cup &/or European competition games.

There were cheaper (and more expensive) tickets available obviously.

Brefugee · 23/06/2023 12:46

we were on the waiting list for season tickets (Gladbach seats 50,024 - i think there are 3,500 away fans, and then there are corporate stuff. Leaves about 45,000 for fans, of which 30,000 are season tickets. And they are passed down through families. So we were lucky to get them last year for the first time. They got a new ticketing system which was great (run by Eventim - do you have that in the UK? kind of like Ticketmaster, the clubs use the software)
Previously if you didn't have a season ticket, there was a date on which members could buy all the tickets for all the matches in the first half of the season. It used to be really stressful, but now they release them a few weeks before each match.

We stick EUR 50 in a piggy bank each match and that's enough to pay for this year's. For next year we'll convert to Season Ticket Plus (there are about 10,000 of these from all the season tickets) so any cup matches, CL or anything (haha) we may be part of will be included (booked off our bank account as necessary)

It is a far cry from my grandad taking me with him (he worked the turnstiles) and just sneaking me in under the barrier

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 23/06/2023 16:22

Arsenal used to release tickets a few weeks before each match for non-season ticket holders but have now decided to hold a ballot from the start of the new season.

Let's see how it works, but it seems to be much fairer. Not sure how it will work if people want to go to matches in groups, but they said they would make it as fair as possible.

Brefugee · 23/06/2023 18:55

with ours they release to members first, then 7 days later open sale (I think now it's probably only 4 days later)

And for the big matches (against Bayern, Dortmund, Cologne - shit but our greatest rivals) the price is regular price plus 20 euros, and you are restricted to 2 tickets per membership. It doesn't stop the ground being full of Bayern and Dortmund fans (except in the home end) on those days and i suspect that people who live locally but support Bayern (6 hours drive away) pay for a membership simply to get those 2 tickets (it adds eur 60 to the price of the ticket)

for the less attractive matches (Hoffenheim, Wolfsburg) the tickets are cheaper. And in the family stand, children over 7 but under (i think12) pay eur 7. Children under 7 don't get a seat and can come in free.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 25/06/2023 16:36

Smith Rowe is starting!

DuncinToffee · 25/06/2023 16:39

Haha, I just came on here to post the same Grin James Garner playing right back again.

Don't like Gordon, but it was a good goal.

DuncinToffee · 25/06/2023 17:50

Don't mind him now he is someone else's frustration, but yes it was a nice move and goal.

England deserve the lead.
