Because Man City won the FA Cup we (Arsenal) will be playing them in the Community Shield.

I would have thought that they would have been able to play themselves as they have a big enough squad.

Good point!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 04/06/2023 15:10

Shame about the penalty..City came close to winning the fa cup with 0 goals conceded.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 04/06/2023 15:16

And also they ran out of medals!

DuncinToffee · 05/06/2023 19:37

Ange Postecoglou, happy Spurs fans?

Good news for Bury fans

Following Approval from the FA, we can now officially say that Bury Football Club will be back at Gigg Lane for the 2023/24 season.

I wasn't aware of this so sharing it

"For anyone who is unaware, broadcasters of European finals are required to show them free to air, so even if you don’t have a BT Sport subscription, you can watch tonight’s UEFA Conference Final & Saturday’s Champions League Final free of charge on the BT Sport YouTube channel."

That's handy to know. Thanks for passing that on.

Tarkan · 07/06/2023 11:09

Hubby found that out last night but I've already made plans to go to a local pub with a friend. Tbh I'll be hoping there's a bit more atmosphere that way than just when sitting at home.

Fingers crossed for a good result tonight though. ⚒️⚒️⚒️

Oblomov23 · 07/06/2023 20:43

Watching West Ham. Sad to see the cups being thrown and the cut on the head.

DuncinToffee · 07/06/2023 20:56

Yes, horrible behaviour.

Well done West Ham and Moysie, what a goal to win it with.

Enjoy your evening Tarkan!

I should be annoyed because it's probably put Rice's price up, but I'm actually happy for the Hammers.

DuncinToffee · 07/06/2023 22:14

Lol at Moyes dancing Grin

Well done West Ham - I wouldn't be surprised if they were suspended next year though.

xabia · 07/06/2023 22:20

Can't wait for Saturday now! Come on City!

Tarkan · 07/06/2023 23:50

We did it. We fucking did it. ⚒️🏆⚒️

I'm only just home from the pub and I was in tears there. I've had a lot to drink now but was panicking it was going to go to extra time tbh so Jarrod Bowen is my hero right now.

I just can't believe it.

And yes I hope the "fans" who threw stuff are dealt with. I never want to see that and I'm glad to see our players went over and said something to the fans to try and stop it too.

I'M FOREVER BLOWING BUBBLES

DuncinToffee · 08/06/2023 08:34

The reaction of the West Ham fans is why I love football Football

That kid on sky news, so overwhelmed that they won, got me a bit.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 08/06/2023 11:42

Well done to the Hammers. What a goal from Bowen. I just learnt that he is Danni Dyer's husband and Danny Dyer is a West Ham fan. They were saying on the radio this morning that no other son in-law will be able to compete with him.

burblish · 08/06/2023 11:58

Congratulations to the Hammers - I was delighted for them!

Disgusting behaviour by the so-called Hammers fans who threw stuff at Biraghi and the Fiorentina fans who attacked Hammers fans in the city centre. WTF is wrong with these people?!

unfortunately the twatty ones are going to get consequences. It wouldn't surprise me if WH are (unfortunately, but what can the authorities do?) banned from European competitions next season.

But very pleased for the club and the fans who aren't twatty idiots.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 08/06/2023 17:16

@Brefugee

I don't think they can ban WH if they didn't ban AZ for what their fans did.

Brefugee · 08/06/2023 18:32

there is that - AZ also need to be banned.

I have zero tolerance for the idiots. On German TV the talk was of the time in a Bochum vs Gladbach match a cup was thrown - and hilariously, the German commentators were saying "hey, they have a deposit on those cups", usually you get one or two Euros per cup - it hit the assistant ref, came from the Bochum fans. And - the ref took the players off the pitch and the match was awarded to Gladbach (who were 0-2 up at the time but there you go)

It will be interesting to see if they punish the English club but not AZ…

The problem with doing that is that you will start getting, for example, Bochum fans pretending to be Gladbach fans and throwing things so that Bochum get the points.
