Bloody Norah. I couldn't have handled penalties.

DuncinToffee · 29/05/2023 17:42

Congrats!

Wow what a time to score. Thought we were in for a hat-trick of play off pens. Very pleased Carlisle won the L2 play-offs, love their goalie (ex-Gills)

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 29/05/2023 20:49

Wow! Poor Barnsley!

It won't be fun if they're all on the same train back oop North...

DuncinToffee · 29/05/2023 21:19

It's a strong looking Championship next season.

Are you trying to depress me Dunc ?

Thought the stand out player was Harry Isted, but the right team won.

@YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue

It's less than a month without football as the women's world cup starts on 20/7.

I hope you are right about Rice, but we thought we had Mudryk until we didn't. I can't see WH selling him without a bidding war.

I think this is where it comes down to the player's rights as against the club's rights. I think Mudruk obviously wanted to come to Arsenal, but there were powerful club financial interests in the way. I think Rice has an awful lot more say in where he goes, and I think that will have much more of an impact in this case.

We are down in our caravan in Dorset. As always we went to the pub to see end of season. Loads of other campers we know too were there. Was good. Liked Moura final goal that WHL referred to. Sad to see Jeff Stelling retire.

Sorry Nobby, I didn't think

Who the hell would want to be a ref? Yes, it’s deeply frustrating when they get decisions wrong, but they are human beings - the abuse they receive is absolutely not ok. Elite managers should be setting better examples, too (I include my beloved Jurgen Klopp in this - fans are often too quick to point the finger at other clubs and their personnel while merrily ignoring the inconvenience of their own team’s behaviour). This is one area where I really wish football was more like rugby, where disrespect for refs is not tolerated.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 02/06/2023 13:54

I have to agree. Much as I hate some of the dreadfully appalling decisions I've seen this season, it's absolutely not right to abuse the referee I'll excuse shouting things from the stands particularly when they are away from the game. And to include their family as well is disgusting.

Mourinho has a lot to answer for, but those "fans" need to be banned for life.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 02/06/2023 15:53

Yes, those scenes were dreadful.

But managers need to lead by example (including Arteta). They are going to start deducting points in the lower leagues and the same thing needs to happen in the other leagues.

Managers will only start behaving if they know that their club will lose points. A red card means nothing to them.

DH and DS are Wembley bound ....I'm not sure I can even watch the match on TV I'm so nervous.

MustTryHarderAndHarder, Alex Iwobi won our Player's Player of the season Smile

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 03/06/2023 09:51

I can't believe that. He works so hard but the fans don't seem to like him (at Arsenal at least). So pleased for him.

He never gets any headlines but is in the middle of all their attacks. He does such good crosses.

DuncinToffee · 03/06/2023 10:05

Yeah he is a bit of a hit and miss with the fans, me included, but clearly highly regarded by his team mates

The Blue side - despite the last 10 years we still have that feeling that City are their own worst enemy; I always expect the worst!

The travellers report that the service stations are rammed with fans - but they are following the guide the club put out and only using certain service stations.

DuncinToffee · 03/06/2023 12:34

Good luck, most pundits seem to predict a comfortable City win today.

Predictably the M1 is a car park, which is adding to stress levels

They made it!

I cant believe how high my heart was in the last 15 minutes of the match. My heart was hammering and felt like it was coming out my chest!

13 seconds! What a goal. Gundogan with a captains performance. (But Vinnie will always by my captain)

Stones was immense today.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 03/06/2023 21:17

Because Man City won the FA Cup we (Arsenal) will be playing them in the Community Shield.

I would have thought that they would have been able to play themselves as they have a big enough squad.
