FFS Spurs lost to Roma tonight. That is bad.

@Oblomov22

As an Arsenal fan, I am not going to say anything as pride always comes before a fall.

I remember when you played Newcastle in April and you went 1 nil down. I had to go round to my (Arsenal supporting) neighbour and I remember gloating about how you had just conceded.

You actually ended up wining 5-1 and after that, our own season imploded.

Liverpool fan here - DD is too but her boyfriend in a Newcastle fan - we tolerate that!

Sad to seen Sadio leave but with many thanks for great service. Looking forward to seeing how Nunez slots into the team and a full season of Diaz and some exciting other signings too plus a year of speculation as to whether we'll sign Jude Bellingham!

Turtletortle · 01/08/2022 09:28

Team you follow - Sunderland (for my sins)

How I’m getting DC to follow them - DS is 21 months old, he loves playing football & has since before he could walk on his own & is onto his second Sunderland shirt now. Currently debating at what age I can bring him along to the football with me & his Nana!

Thoughts on the season - just pleased to finally be out of league 1. And hoping for some better officiating now we’ve gone up a league.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 01/08/2022 12:37

Arsenal fan, used to be season ticket holder

He says he's not interested in football, but always enjoys it when he goes to a game, and says he supports Arsenal if asked.

Liking what we've done in the closed season. I think hope we will give some surprises this season, we've looked pretty good in preseason, although I don't want to get too excited and see us muck it up against Palace on Friday!
I think Ødegaard is going to be outstanding, and with Saka and Martinelli supporting Jesus I'm hoping for rather more goals this season.
I'm also hoping Saliba will shore up our defence, particularly against the bigger teams.
City and 'Pool fighting for top again I suspect, but I hope we'll be pushing them a bit closer.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 01/08/2022 13:49

Is there a fantasy league we can join?

DuncinToffee · 01/08/2022 13:53

For anyone interested in the women's game

I have never done fantasy football, can't help you there.

As of the start of the season today, Sp*rs winning the league is closer to the 19th century than to the present...

Sisterwinter1969 · 05/08/2022 13:28

Looking forward to seeing us (LCFC) home to Brentford on Sunday but it is going to be very strange without Kasper Schmeichel between the posts😒

DialSquare · 05/08/2022 13:38

Can I join?

Arsenal fan (if my name wasn't a give away!) and season tickets holder but not using it this season.

My daughter was a junior Gunner and went to many games growing up but was never really that interested in football. She's in her 30s now but will say she's an Arsenal fan when asked.

I'm slightly optimistic for an improvement to last season but so many teams have added to their squads that I couldn't guess where we'll finish. Looking forward to tonight though. Should be a good game.

ILoveAllRainbowsx · 05/08/2022 22:11

Well we won. It was very nervy in the second half and CP were the better team.

I think we were lucky not to draw or even lose.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 05/08/2022 23:18

Difficult first game, but looked good in patches. Saliba really looked the business.

AndNobbyDancing · 06/08/2022 13:49

Loving the Fulham game.

Fulham game is great.
Rate that Nunez and Carvalho.

I also don't recon Harland who clearly has potential has acclimatised to premier league and will struggle at City this season.

WhiteHartLane · 06/08/2022 19:39

Excellent performances and wins for Spurs and Gillingham. Nice to be back amongst the fans at Gills.

DuncinToffee · 06/08/2022 20:26

Ok, we lost but didn't play too badly. Happy with the new signings but desperately need to add a striker.

All the best to Ben Godfrey Sad

Can I join?

Team Manchester United (don't hate me)

My two teens are Man Utd mad, but also follow most other prem teams and our local team that play in the Championship.

AlbertCookie · 06/08/2022 20:41

Team: Everton

DS1 has no interest in football and DS2 Is only 16 months but he does have an Everton shirt already!

Lost today, but I see an improvement from last season. My only hope is that we improve, sign a couple more promising players (striker!) and aren't in the same awful position we found ourselves in last season. COYB! UTT!

Fabvegetablegrower · 06/08/2022 20:50

Newcastle fan here. Good start for us!

AndNobbyDancing · 06/08/2022 21:56

Depends Every do you know all the words to 'come on you reds?'

Fulham were great today, I wasn't expecting them to bring the Championship tenacity to the PL.

Great result for Bournemouth, shame about Saints especially after the strong start.

All the best to Godfrey, saw the headlines will catch up properly later. Pleased for Newcastle as I love Eddie.

Sisterwinter1969 · 06/08/2022 22:40

I was forgetting that men can play football as well.
Not as successfully as the women of course...

Oblomov22 · 07/08/2022 15:15

What is going on with VAR? The Ref isn't even being told there is an issue.

Arsenal had a hand ball.
Man Utd pushed Brighton Welbeck, no penalty. Referee didn't even look at VAR. Don't get it?

DuncinToffee · 07/08/2022 15:35

Sterling got a free kick for a slip in the lead up to their penalty.
Assistent referee missing the ball going behind for a corner which led to Godfrey's injury

Business as usual

I haven't missed the diving and time wasting.
