Our game against Villa was slow but the midday sun and heat didn't help. We desperately need a goal scorer.

Will have to catch up with all the later matches.

Brentford starting eleven, 55million
Man Utd starting eleven 424million

I don't like the five subs rule as in general it works in the favour of the richest clubs but sometimes money is not enough.

AndNobbyDancing · 13/08/2022 19:11

I will give you that Dunc I've barely moved let alone ran around.

DuncinToffee · 13/08/2022 19:23

The heat definitely affected both teams.

Man U players can't use that excuse Wink

West Brom fan here, new to the sports section. Obviously not in the prem but hoping to get back there soon. DC’s support Man City and Liverpool so we watch a lot of football in our house!

Just watched Man Utd v Brentford……Man U looking like a relegation contender at this rate.

everylittlehelp5 · 13/08/2022 19:49

Well, what an absolute shower of 💩 Man Utd we're today. I didn't think after last season they could get worse but they're definitely showing us that they haven't even begun to scrape the bottom of the barrel yet.

The whole team needs to be wiped and start a fresh.

The only player I l feel sorry for is Eriksen. Maguire needs to be binned,

AndNobbyDancing · 13/08/2022 20:28

I don't feel for Eriksen, he knew what he was joining.

Sun we said the same, they are currently bottom. I just don't know how they come back from this, Everton may need a striker, Man Utd appear to need everything. They have players that are good when given the opportunity but no players capable of making the opportunity.

De Gea is the highest paid keeper in the world, he must be pinching himself.

sunstoked · 13/08/2022 21:51

Too many individuals at Man Utd and has been for a while now - they don’t gel as a team or play for each other. In all honesty I didn’t see a single player putting in the work rate required at this level for Man U today.

Oblomov22 · 13/08/2022 22:26

"The only player I l feel sorry for is Eriksen. "

Bollocks to that. He chose to leave Brentford. They took him and made him their main man. If I was him I'd be looking at his team right now, thinking I'd made a big mistake.

Oblomov22 · 13/08/2022 22:34

Now Watching MoftheD. That Brentford 4th was classy. The pass by Toney. The finish and composure was Mbeumo was good.

SortOfAdmireQuagmire · 13/08/2022 22:37

Can we please now stop referring to Manchester United as “United”?

@Oblomov22

As an Arsenal fan, I am not going to say anything as pride always comes before a fall.

I remember when you played Newcastle in April and you went 1 nil down. I had to go round to my (Arsenal supporting) neighbour and I remember gloating about how you had just conceded.

You actually ended up wining 5-1 and after that, our own season imploded.

What’s the name people have for that day in the season when Arsenal can no longer finish above Tottenham?

DuncinToffee · 13/08/2022 22:46

The majority of the post on here refer to Man U or Man Utd, same with Man City.

We know there are several United's Smile

I'll let you off as as an Arsensal fan. Wink

As a Spurs Fan, I never boast. One minute we play really well and the next minute we can barely play at all and we do something really totally twatty, that just embarrasses all fans. so I never ever boast.

DuncinToffee · 13/08/2022 23:01

I like to think we are all quite level headed and friendly on these threads Grin

Newcastle are my DH’s team, and he’s been known to grumble a little when a London journalist uses “United.”

Forgive me if I'm wrong, football Saturdays are after all, a day for drinking, but I can not see one post that refers Manchester United as 'United'

No, not on here, but on the mean streets of the mean streets of the metropolis…

According to some journalists and sport channels there are only 6 teams in the EPL Wink

Oh and football didn't exist before the Premier League

Should be an interesting match tomorrow.

I think that if Spurs win they could be title contenders.

Ottercave · 13/08/2022 23:21

Not too sure if I’m in the right place as I’m a Yeovil fan.

Not too sure how we’ll do this season but hoping our Chairman will get bored of us soon and piss off and turn his attention to else where.

Great to see Ben Mee score.

Hi - Burnley fan.
I'm so conflicted - it's always great to see Ben score - but him doing so in Red in white is just wrong. After so many years of nothing much changing at Burnley so much has changed. Not just the division, management and players but in style and ethos too. It will take some getting used to. I was at Watford on Friday evening and between the starting line up only having couple of players I've seen before and the tropical weather it all felt very strange!
Ben Mee has been my Claret hero for many years, on and off the pitch he is a model pro. Seeing Captain Fantastic pull on a Brentford shirt will never not seem weird. But I wish him all the luck for the rest of career and would love to see him back at the Turf in the dug out one day.

JizzHornkamp · 14/08/2022 01:49

OK, I think they'll need Eric Twenty Hag at this rate...

TartanGirl1 · 14/08/2022 01:51

Are we allowed to join if we are not English or support and English team?

Oblomov22 · 14/08/2022 06:56

Of course Tartan! We are nice here!
