OK, that's really annoying, they've deleted it. It was a goalkeeper scoring from just outside his own area. Looked like Por v Tro or something, but I can't find it now...

Gills have just knocked Brentford out the cup. Proper smash and grab 1 shot, 1 goal. Beautiful header from Mandron. 6-5 winners on penalties. So proud of the lads, they haven't given us much to cheer about lately but this was epic. UTFG's!!!

@WhiteHartLane Congrats indeed to the Gills! I was just reading about the players having to walk the last section of the journey to the stadium - what an evening they had, in so many ways.

Oh well, if there was one competition I was going to be happy to be leaving early, it was this one. And I think we have good company. (And Sp*rs)

I was out last night so only saw the line up beforehand and the score when I got home. Can't say I was too surprised but disappointed that those players didn't take their chance.

The kids who made their debut fared better today beating PSG 2-1

Thanks @burblish it was a great result and I'm so proud. Their coach got stuck at Chiswick roundabout and they couldn't get an escort so decided to walk the 10 minutes to the stadium. Hopefully they will get a decent tie next round, the club has no money so City or Liverpool away would be fantastic.

We were at the Newcastle match last night. Dreadful! Disappointed those starting didn’t take their opportunity to fight for a place in the starting line up but pleased to get through on penalties. It means I can laugh about how truly awful Bruno’s pen was. Looks like we’ve found a weakness after all!

I tried to post the video I took of the pen expecting it to be the winner. Man was I disappointed 😂😂

I thought maguire was injured, not in best form, hadn't had that many games.

And yet Southgate picks him, as his old trusty faithful.

Big Dan Burn absolutely deserved a spot and is so versatile as can switch out to LB if needed. Pleased Callum Wilson is in though.

White I was really disappointed at Hasenhüttl sacking, he has both hands tied with lack of funding but I was hopeful Saints had lined up a great manager (personally thought they should wait for Potters imminent return to the South Coast) but when they went for Jones I thought they were preparing for next season in the Championship but despite today's loss I did feel that they had a renewed spark just couldn't make good on opportunity.

What a result for Brentford, my boy called it because of the city players wanting to keep fit for the WC, but still.

I was at the Bournemouth game today, the away end was not a happy place to be, lots of very fed up fans.

Looking forward to MOTD, the Spurs game looks good.

I know not the right thread but very little rugby chat and the Red Roses and the Black Ferns were just excellent today. Commiserations to England but what role models. (Also shame about the Rugby League result, but what a result for Samoa)

Made heavy weather of that again today, obviously many players looking ahead to the World Cup. And then Arteta said that there were several other players suffering from the same thing that Xhaka was. I suspect Saka was one of them.

But still, we managed to get the win. Odegaard obviously didn't have to worry about the World Cup, and so could give it everything.

I'll just have to leave this here, at least until just before New Year;

Absolute scenes at the end of the Newcastle v Chelsea match today. SJP was bouncing, Pope, Longstaff, Tripps and even Lascelles getting a yellow card despite not even being on the pitch 😂
