1.Which team you support.
Everton

DD is nor really interested but DS is a bitterToffee. Born not manufactured Wink
  1. A thought on this season
After last season my expectations are low, just that it has to be better. Mid table finish would do it for me.

Team - Everton

Getting kids to follow the correct team - Not a hope in hell, they're 27 and 24. Oldest has no interest and small boy has a vague interest ( He does like Arsenal though ).......although both can recount many facts regarding Everton and Goodison Park 👍

A thought on this season - Hopefully fewer long term injuries and with the new additions .....who knows. Definitely more optimistic that we'll be better than last season

AndNobbyDancing · 30/07/2022 13:31

Waves

  1. Southampton although very pleased to see Bournemouth come back up.
  1. Mainly failed, the DC that like football are massive Tottenham fans the one that isn't fussed says he is a Saints fan but doesn't really care at all. Have done better making them support the correct rugby team. (The Mighty Quins)
  1. Really enjoying the Euros, conflicted on the upcoming World Cup, I actually like that it is in the winter as it would really lift a depressing time of year but can not see how we can watch the games knowing that human rights abuse have been glossed over in exchange for cash.
TheFutureIs · 30/07/2022 13:44
  1. Pompey fan here
  1. Little one was at her first match at 7 weeks and still loves going at nearly 6. She's started playing too so I think she's just accepted her fate
  1. I'm quietly optimistic for the season. Last year we were abysmal until the last week games when the team finally gelled. We've had a lot of change, mostly positive signings. We'll definitely be missing our keeper from last season (Gavin Bazunu on loan from Man City) I hope that lot down the road look after him well this season
DuncinToffee · 30/07/2022 14:12

DS first live Everton match was away against Portsmouth, Saha scored the only goal.

Good luck for today.

Dh is Spurs fan.
Tells ds's they'll have to live in the shed if they even consider supporting anyone else.
Ds1 hopefully off to Nottingham Uni, so he's thrilled they've been promoted and has already applied for a part time job there.
Expecting Man City and Liverpool to fight it out for winners.

DrEllie · 30/07/2022 16:00

I am a Villa fan. Both kids are LFC 🙄 if we aren't top 10 this season then wtf is Stevie G up to?

Michellebops · 30/07/2022 16:27

Glasgow rangers fan here - first game of the season played today, 2-1 victory

Dd6 is interested and wants to play herself. Need to look into local options for girls.

Looking ahead for a premiership win

TheFutureIs · 30/07/2022 17:34

@Michellebops at that age she'll likely be playing with the boys, my 5 year old is the only girl at her club. More girls seem to join when they're a bit older

ILoveAllRainbowsx · 30/07/2022 17:46

Arsenal

We've just bought Jesus from City and have had a really good pre-season (we won 6-0 today and beat Chelsea 4-0) so expectations are high for Friday night against Crystal Palace. Just hoping it doesn't end in tears as usual.

We are going to win the league!

At least we have always top of the table once every season which you can't say about any other Premier League team.

WhiteHartLane · 30/07/2022 17:46

-Spurs and Gillingham.

-9 year old DS loves Spurs and is a willing companion when we go and see Gillingham's home games.

-Am hoping Spurs can hit the ground running, ended last season strongly. Conte is a fantastic Manager and I am pleased he has been backed in the transfer window.

-Gillingham have got off to a disappointing start in L2 today, a 2-0 loss to Wimbledon. Early days but sadly the money isn't there and the team has been thrown together in what appears to be a last minute panic (many players from last year left on free transfers). Still a long way to go though and I'm looking forward to next weeks home game against Rochdale.

skippy67 · 30/07/2022 19:24

Arsenal for over 40 years.
Kids support Palace as does DH. I moved south of the river when I met him. He's been a Palace fan forever so I had no chance of getting the dc to follow Arsenal.
Not looking forward to next Friday as Palace have been a bit of a bogey team for us recently. Dh and ds both going to Selhurst ( season ticket holders). I went last year and sat in with the Palace fans as we lost 3 nil. Won't be doing that again!

Thoughts for this season are I'm happy with the signings we've made, but we still need a striker, and another centre half. I reckon we'll scrape top 4. I also think we'll do well in the Europa.

AndNobbyDancing · 30/07/2022 19:31

Not any more rainbow Bournemouth are currently top of the table! You are currently second which is still more than you can hope for!

Everton fans just read about the penalty scorer on the Everton Kiev game, liked that.

Enjoyed the Community Shield game today

Sisterwinter1969 · 30/07/2022 19:37
  1. Leicester City (season ticket holder for many years)
  2. Grown up daughter supports LCFC too
  3. Just hope we play some attractive football, and still haven't really recovered from that 2015-16 season!
AndNobbyDancing · 30/07/2022 19:40

Sister I do have a soft spot for Leicester, I think the whole outfit there is great, although of Kasper goes I will be sad.

PeppaPigIsAnnoying · 30/07/2022 19:46

Arsenal

DD is only three but I think she'll be a Gooner for sure

  1. MC
  2. Lpool
  3. Arsenal/Spurs
  4. Arsenal/Spurs
  5. Chelsea
PeppaPigIsAnnoying · 30/07/2022 19:50

ILoveALLRainbowsx

If you have Amazon Prime, on Aug 4th there's a fly on the wall Arsenal documentary filmed throughout last season called All or Nothing

Should be good

I have quite high hopes for this season, we've bought well

mrsDracoMalfoy · 30/07/2022 20:08

DD follows correctly
DS supports Harry Kane 🤣

We need to do better.

TheStarsDontShine · 30/07/2022 20:22

Southampton - waves at @AndNobbyDancing 😇⚽️❤️🤍❤️🤍❤️

The only decent team on the south coast 😉 although I do have a soft spot for Bournemouth

I took mine from youngish - between 18 months and 2 - my first match was at The Dell at around the same age. But I've failed- one supports Man U, and the others dip in and out 😔

I'm actually happy with the transfers in this season - particularly after seeing Aribo's goal against Villarreal 😍

RavenT · 30/07/2022 20:29
  1. Nottingham Forest
  1. Ds hasn't really had much choice! Whenever he says 'So and so is a Man City fan' he gets The Talk about supporting your local team. 😀
  1. Excited.
user1471453601 · 30/07/2022 20:37

Liverpool for 50+ years, daughter Liverpool since she could watch a game. So 40+ years.

thoughts for the season coming up? I expect/hope we continue to play entertaining football honestly.

and Nunez was pretty outstanding in today's Community Sheilds.

and Klopp was as joyful as ever to watch

Up the mighty trees 👍

Good to see Forest back up, have a soft spot for them since the late 70's and if course Mr Clough.

I had a mate who was a trainee with Forest in the early 80's and he couldn't speak more highly of the man or his methods

Goonergirl14 · 30/07/2022 20:45

Arsenal fan here, probably my username gives it away! Neither of my 2 DS are particularly interested in football though one says he supports Wolves as he likes wolves..excited for the season ahead, great result today! DH is a Rangers and West Ham fan. lots of football to look forward to in my house!

DuncinToffee · 30/07/2022 20:50

Everton fans just read about the penalty scorer on the Everton Kiev game, liked that.

Here is the footage. It will be shown on Michael McIntyre's Big Show early next year

Everton supporter Paul Stratton was brought on to take a penalty in a friendly match against Dynamo Kyiv.

He has been delivering supplies by car to refugees of the Russian invasion in Ukraine 👏
