The rolling Football thread for Season '13-14 might as well start off in the traditional way with the same intro as did the original rolling Football thread all those seasons ago. But with the new tradition of leaving the musty changing room of Dadsnet...
We've been top heavy with premiership stuff but it's really for any footie played on the planet and beyond.

Footie fans please sign in with

1.Which team you support.
2.Which team(s) you loathe.
3.How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team.

  1. A thought on the season (Premiership/Championship/Champions? League/FA Cup/League Cup/all leagues world wide.)

Hmm..we'll take that. But Danny Boy! He can't handle thinking time.

PansBigChainring · 06/04/2014 20:27

Arse going to miss out on Champs League? Looks like Utd need to do you a favour at Goodison.
But what a choice for who is going to win the Premiership. Dire.
And Cov aren't fairing so well either.

DanFmDorking · 08/04/2014 20:30

Good luck Chelsea

DanFmDorking · 09/04/2014 18:31

Good luck Man U

PansBigChainring · 09/04/2014 22:45

Aaaaand relax those jaws.Smile

DanFmDorking · 10/04/2014 00:08

I went past the bookies today and saw a poster for the Bayern Munich v Manchester United game tonight.

'Both teams to score and Man U to win 18/1.'

I did like the optimism but I couldn't see United scoring 18 goals.

PansBigChainring · 11/04/2014 20:58

Arse v pie-eaters?

Heart says pie-eaters, just for the romance aspect. But head says Arse, if only as my recently-becoming 2nd team, you need a bit of silverware, and despite your reservations about Arsene surely he deserves some glory for all his efforts and style over the years.
I'd still fear for you though.Grin

BelfastBloke · 12/04/2014 07:52

Off to Wemberley today.

Man U as your first team and Arsenal as your second, Pan?

You glory-hunter.

PansBigChainring · 12/04/2014 14:49

Quite. What with Cov barely remaining above the relegation zone it's been a real bells and whistles season.....

DanFmDorking · 12/04/2014 19:50

Phew! - thank goodness for that!

PansBigChainring · 15/04/2014 19:17

A draw isn't enough, is it?

DanFmDorking · 15/04/2014 21:36

Again, phew! so far so good.

DanFmDorking · 16/04/2014 21:50

Fantastic results, thanks Palace.
Liverpool win!

PansBigChainring · 18/04/2014 14:20

Hope our boys get a sense of having to prepare for fighting for a place next season when they play Everton. After all, when you've been dropped by Utd where is there to go?
Oh yes. Sunderland.Grin

Ploppy16 · 18/04/2014 18:53

UTC!!
All they have to do is not screw up...

Grin sorry! getting a bit over excited about the potential for another Premier season here!

DanFmDorking · 19/04/2014 21:50

Fantastic Sunderland!
Liverpool win again!

PansBigChainring · 20/04/2014 08:30

Looks like Jose forgot to also thank his front line for only scoring one goal at home against the bottom of the league team.

DanFmDorking · 20/04/2014 17:18

Phew!, that's another 3 points.
Come on Man U!

PansBigChainring · 21/04/2014 14:07

It was never going to happen. 20 mins in you could see how the game had developed into a 'close up and counter-punch' approach and yet Moyes let that happen for the most part of 70 mins. Not a decent shot on target despite 70% of possession. Moyes summary that 'we played really well, passed the ball well' is bollocks. We had the ball because Everton let us have it, secure in the knowledge we'd do nothing productive with it. Mata dozed and was dispossessed v easily.
No fight, no plan b, no urgency, no penetration, no decisions made until it was too late. Ad infinitum.
Please Stock Markets, plummet the share value and kick the money boys into action.

PansBigChainring · 21/04/2014 14:49

ooh...looks like action..

DanFmDorking · 21/04/2014 18:03

Rumours that David Moyes may be replaced have been met with angry protests outside the ground.
Man U officials have asked the police to remove City fans from the area.

UKIP have made eager enquiries about hiring David Moyes.
His experience at getting out of Europe has sparked their interest.

Just seen the latest showing of Most Haunted.
David Moyes face as he left Goodison.

Just bought one of those Chelsea Easter eggs, but it crumbled at home.

And finally ...
As NASA prepares to launch more explorative rockets, to more distant planets, they're looking to create the sort of environments they'll be faced with here on earth, for testing purposes.
These include places with no atmosphere, totally isolated, and extremely dusty for a metallic object to land in.
They currently have a team of scientists based in Arsenal's trophy room.

May 17th - Good luck lads...

PansBigChainring · 21/04/2014 18:56

Am reading that MUFC cannot make any announcement during US markets trading hours. Once the bell tolls at 9pm BST it's game on....

PansBigChainring · 21/04/2014 20:18

This is going to be a massive few days for the club - shades of Busby. Giggs to take over for the last few days whilst we re-arrange our feet.

PansBigChainring · 21/04/2014 20:20

or even few games....but line up the replacement for pre-World Cup, close season, window and pre-season tour.

I am available.Grin

DanFmDorking · 21/04/2014 20:28

Latest Reports: Moyes to be sacked within 24 hours, or 25 hours if you listen to Sir Alex.
