The rolling Football thread for Season '13-14 might as well start off in the traditional way with the same intro as did the original rolling Football thread all those seasons ago. But with the new tradition of leaving the musty changing room of Dadsnet...
We've been top heavy with premiership stuff but it's really for any footie played on the planet and beyond.

Footie fans please sign in with

1.Which team you support.
2.Which team(s) you loathe.
3.How you are getting your kids to follow the correct team.

  1. A thought on the season (Premiership/Championship/Champions? League/FA Cup/League Cup/all leagues world wide.)

At the National Television Awards 2014 the award for best drama performance in the male category goes to
... Luis Suarez!

Wayne Rooney has been told he will not be allowed to leave to one of United's main rivals,
... that rules out Norwich and Southampton then.

Horsemad · 22/01/2014 21:56

DanFm - how very dare you!

DanFmDorking · 22/01/2014 22:53

I don't know why Manchester United fans look so upset after the Sunderland game,
... you won a game at Old Trafford

What happens when a black cat crosses your path?
... You get knocked out of the Capital Cup.

David Moyes "Phil I said try and score not score a try".

David Moyes has promised fans of Man U. that they'll be in a major European competition next year
... even if he has to write the song himself.

BREAKING NEWS: Juan Mata arrested after being caught reversing his way back down the M6.

Horsemad · 23/01/2014 00:21

Grin Poor old Man U!

Pan · 27/01/2014 19:58

It hurts even more now!Grin And I am now sharing my office with...a..Citeh fan, and he is patronising the feck out of me. Every day.

Intersting Cup draw wasn't it? All Prem teams matched, except Fulham...wouldn't mind Chelski booting out Citeh in order to reduce their likely trophy tally. And rather hopeful for Mata-Rooney-vPersie trinity. Obv fear is that we just turn top class players into quite average ones.

My next door neighbour who is an honorary Grandad to my DC is a Citeh fan, so I'm used to hearing him wax lyrical about them. Smile

He's tried and failed to sway DS2 to change his allegiance, but that will never happen!

Great result for the Reds tonight. Smile

Pan · 28/01/2014 22:50

you mean 2-0 for the Reds?Wink

What's scary is that S&S were falling out about scoring the fifth goal. That's champions attitude. Schmeichel and the back four would badly verbally abuse each other if they conceded a corner.

Horsemad · 28/01/2014 23:01

Would love to have been there tonight!

DanFmDorking · 08/02/2014 17:18
Sad
Horsemad · 08/02/2014 18:12

Grin DanFM I've had a great day at Anfield today. Just superb!

DanFmDorking · 09/02/2014 18:49

"We are absolutely gutted not to have come away with the win after playing such a poor team"
... said a spokesman for Fulham

Jose Mourinho - 'Special One'
Manuel Pellegrini - 'Tactical One'
Arsene Wenger - 'Five One'

Reporter: "Arsene Wenger, how do you feel after today's performance?"
AW: "Yes, good, I think we played some attractive football, took our goal well and deserved three points from the 1-0 win."
Reporter: "Erm, Arsene, I don't understand. Liverpool scored 5 goals."
Aw: "I didn't see them."

BelfastBloke · 02/03/2014 09:17

arsenal defeat to stoke yesterday - ouch.

away to bayern, spurs, chelsea, everton
home to everton, citeh and west ham

don't look good

pinning all my hopes on the fa cup. we've got the quarter-final next week at home to everton, and if we get through that we would play the semi at wembley, possibly against citeh.

DanFmDorking · 02/03/2014 13:07

Sad yep - I am not happy

BelfastBloke · 03/03/2014 08:21

ffs

BelfastBloke · 06/03/2014 22:44

jack wilshire out with a hairline fracture.

ffs

DanFmDorking · 08/03/2014 14:38

a good win :)

BelfastBloke · 09/03/2014 09:00

yeah, not bad. very concerned about our striker situation, though.

giroud is a good finisher, but can't create goals out of nothing. v reliant on service.

bendtner will never be picked again.

sanogo seems to be the backup, but was anonymous yesterday.

podolski's goal-per-minutes is excellent, but arsene rarely sends him on.

and theo is out for the season.

PansPeloton · 09/03/2014 11:49

Even Fellani had a good game.

ffs

BelfastBloke · 10/03/2014 06:10

relieved that citeh are no longer in the fa cup.

no disrespect to wigan; they are clearly and demonstrably a good cup team. but was daunted by the prospect of playing citeh in the semi.

off to wemberley

DanFmDorking · 11/03/2014 17:27

I'm a bit worried about tonight though.
Good luck lads.

PansBigChainring · 11/03/2014 20:40

All to play for after 45 mins..

BelfastBloke · 12/03/2014 13:55

robben diving cheat.

i never expected to go through at all. oziil and wilshire are out, so ramsay better get back pronto.

PansBigChainring · 12/03/2014 19:59

Indeed Robben is a diving cheating bastard. When watching a tv game with him playing you shouldn't walk too near your screen as any vibration could lead him to fall over.

Currently enjoying seeing Citeh at Nou Camp.

BelfastBloke · 13/03/2014 07:46

how are you feeling about moyes these days, pan?

maintaining the necessary resolve? or ready to ditch him?

PansBigChainring · 13/03/2014 12:10

Option A tbh BB. Reasonably, things weren't as rosy as he first thought and SAF did drag the team to an 11pt victory last year - and losing the coaching and finance staff was an immense hurdle. There'll be no change for at least 3-4 years?

OTOH, if Wenger doesn't bring home the FA Cup now he'll be invited to consider his position I'd imagine.
