Are we having a spin on Le Tour this year? They are half way across Corsica already, and Cav and Froome are settled in. Cav's looking for a stage win.

DA - I'll ask HQ to shift it to a place where it can sulk quietly through lack of use, so it remains and we just have to click on 'threads I'm watching' for contacts.

Will the Vuelata be on satellite tv? Eurosport for eg? Surely Wiggo will be moving soon when the transfer season opens.

I am disappointed for Cav, but I have to hand it to Kittel. The boy is good. And he looks like a T1000 on a bike. And he isn't Borat with green pen all over his chin.

Panonabike · 21/07/2013 22:29

In a sort of odd way I'm beginning to like Sagan a bit. Despite everything.

I've asked MNHQ to shift it for us, Panonabike. And I assume the Vuelta will be on Eurosport, yes.

I agree about Sagan too - it was the wheelies and the bunny hopping that won me over.

DramaAlpaca · 21/07/2013 22:34

Thanks Panonabike!

Also, I know what you mean about Sagan - for some utterly strange reason he's beginning to grow on me Confused

I wonder if Sky will let Wiggo go - too much competition to have him in another team... Will he ride the Vuelta, I wonder?

I'm sure the Vuelta will be on Eurosport, but cycling is becoming so popular now ITV4 might have it too. Meanwhile, I'll have to make do with the Tour of Poland from next weekend. It won't be anything like as scenic!

ariadneoliver · 21/07/2013 22:38

Excellent, all round to HowGood's place next year. Grin Good idea moving the thread. The Vuelta will be on Eurosport and should be on ITV again too.

HowGoodIsThat · 21/07/2013 22:40

It looks as though itv4 should be doing a highlights ptogramme of the Veulta.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 21/07/2013 22:41

Watched the Vuelta for the first time last year on ITV4, they decided to show it as the Tour had been so popular.

Next chance for Cav to win a stage will be in Harrogate next year and I will be watching! Possibly not at the finish, but certainly somewhere along the route.

Panonabike · 21/07/2013 22:41

And we are now in Sports!

Cavendish's comments on the OPQS site were good: not blaming anyone else and taking responsibility (in hindsight) for not kicking early enough as he was still accelerating as they crossed the line.

LostInWales · 22/07/2013 12:15

GrinGrinGrin Daily Mash have it spot on as always.

Not sure I have ever ventured into 'sport' before. Not sure it's really me but as long as everyone promises only to talk to me about cycling I guess we're ok.

NicholasTeakozy · 22/07/2013 17:00

There's a Sports section? Shock Well I never.

Panonabike · 22/07/2013 17:03

So it's sort of gone back to the womb. This is where it started on Stage 1!

Yeees they talk about star jumps and something called 'shredding' round here. If we don't make eye contact with the locals we should be okay.

OP posts:
NicholasTeakozy · 22/07/2013 17:39

At least I know where to start threads on MotoGP, and they'll be ignored in the right location. As opposed to being ignored in the wrong section. :o

HowGoodIsThat · 23/07/2013 00:04

Circle the bikes and form a corral.

DramaAlpaca · 23/07/2013 09:58

Wiggo is back - doing Tour of Poland next week.

prettybird · 23/07/2013 10:15

Cycling at the Commonwealth Games 2014 (one year today) getting good coverage today with Sir Chris Hoy. A 12 year old boy Wink gave an interview too, live on breakfast TV, about how he was looking forward to the Commonwealth Games coming to his home city, how inspirational Chris Hoy has been even though Cavendish is his real inspiration and how brilliant it is to have an indoor velodrome.

Pan · 23/07/2013 12:41

Is The Froominator in on the Poland Tour as well do we know?

ariadneoliver · 23/07/2013 14:15

No rosters released yet according to steephill. www.steephill.tv/tour-de-pologne/#rosters

And now I'm going back to the Tour de Wallonie, the Eurosport player app has more than justified the cost of an iPad. Grin

DramaAlpaca · 23/07/2013 14:38

According to the Tour of Poland official website (in English of course!) the Sky team members announced so far are: Wiggins, Pate, Uran, Henao, Rowe & Swift. I expect that is subject to change though.

Definitely not Froome, he's doing Criteriums in Belgium - when he probably should be having a nice rest!

Vincenzo Nibali, winner of the Giro, is leading the Astana team.

DramaAlpaca · 23/07/2013 14:41

Link to starting list below. Only six riders per team this year:

prettybird · 23/07/2013 22:46

Interesting team! Will be good to see them working together or at least, read the reports about how they've done Smile

frostyfingers · 25/07/2013 20:01

Well I couldn't find TdF in Spain at all - nothing but bloody football. Gutted for Cav, but hopefully with Mark Renshaw next season will help him have a proper lead out train.
