He's on antibiotics and I'm rubbing my thighs in anticipation.

I actually texted him from work today and told him our marriage was in trouble if he squeezed it himself.

That’s made my Christmas

Just to reassure you all. DH's finger is now a more normal size. The blister thing popped and he is now sloughing skin like a weird snake. The antibiotics seem to have done their job.

I had a quick glance at your Xmas Day update and my SIL caught my reaction and asked what I was looking at. I said it wasn’t the right time to say, but I’d tell her later. I tussled with how you’d explain the concept of people uploading pictures of their loved ones’ pus-filled/rupturing horrors for other people’s enjoyment and somehow couldn’t find the words. So I left it unsaid. It’s hard to explain sporners’ corner to the uninitiated.

I'm on a FB group that shows horror RL things. It's like this to the extreme.

DH thinks I'm disturbed.

My sil once had one. We were going on a long haul hol and she was on abs. Her dh wouldn’t go near. She was dying to swim. So I got my faithful travelling sewing kit out. Soaked it and pierced through the soggy and rotted fingernail. It made a bang and hit the mirror. Sadly it didn’t come back but it made my holiday

Also, much as DH knows and loves me, I did get a small side eye for "oooooo don't do anything, where's my phone, I need a picture"

Ooohhhh I had a whitlow just like that many years ago (former nail biter), the nurse had to get a sample of the pus for testing. She hand what looked like a huge cotton bud and squeezed he pus which shot straight past the "bud" but, the pain and relief were simultaneously amazing. All pre mobile phone days I'm afraid.

Posts like this make me feel nostalgic for/miss working in A&E
