KLAXON pea sized lump in earlobe, with pics of course.

I have a lump in my earlobe and I'm not sure what to do. I have had these before, but always in a piercing hole, so could be easily squeezed out of the hole. This is between two holes and will not squeeze no matter how hard i try.

My earlobe is throbbing and painful and I just want it gone now. Getting to the point of jabbing it with a needle as it's affecting my sleep. It has been there for three days now.

As a committed sporner i am frustrated with this as there has been no glorious explosion, no beautiful bursting loveliness, just pain. Help?

I'll get dp to take a better pic when he gets back from the shop and I'll also video any popping attempts.

Oh, this has made up for DS2 screaming he wanted a Babybel (he doesn't like Babybels) this morning.

Can you put a hit compress on it to draw it out ?

Right I will try the hot compresses and come back to this later. If anything happens I commit to filming and posting it. According to dp we still have to live our lives and go out today, so I'll have to try again tonight.

There won't be pus in it as it's not hot, red and angry looking - pus is for abscesses.

The stuff you get in ear piercing cysts (called inclusion cysts) isn't pus, it's just accululated cheesy bits of keratin and isn't always very squeezy.

Either you haven't pierced the cyst or it's just not going to squeeze out as it's not runny. Plus as you will be unable to get rid of the cyst lining it will only come back again.

I suggest you stop jabbing your ear now and see a health care professional non-urgently about your cyst.

For goodness sake it looks even bigger now.

Pus isn't just for abscesses. I get these sort of random things all the time full of pus if squeezed.

I swear by all that is sporny that I will try my best to get this out. If not I am seeing the doctor this week for something else so I will run it by him. I will update no matter what.

Would mag sulphate help here?

Might do,especially after a jab with a needle so it was somewhere to drain.

Pus = infection. Lump should be red, hot, swollen and eventually form a point that the pus escapes from - like a zit.

You can have cysts that don't have pus in them. It's not all pus folks.

I have a lump in the back of my neck that I can't fully squeeze out. I get bits out but it's very solid, cheesy smelling, thick keratin and most of it stays there.
