In the hot summer season, we are faced with the inevitable dilemma - what summer shoes to go for in order to stay stylish and comfortable at the same time. When it comes down to finding the right ones for you and your family, it might take a while to find a love at first step. As you’ll probably have a few shoe decisions to make this summer, FitFlop want to know what your must-haves are for the summer season.

LOVE Fitflops and own an embarrasing number of toe post fitflops - wear them a lot through summer. However also love animal swish flip flops - very comfy and soft. (and cheap!)

I have Birkenstocks as my go-to everyday sandals and find them so comfortable but I'd like some smarter sandals for holiday sightseeing.

I go for comfort over style I'm afraid - comfy sandals with decent straps to hold them on - I can't be doing with flip-flops or similar that fall off my feet when I walk.

This is summer 2 for a pair of plain tan leather sandals a MNer recommended from Next that are soo comfy and smart.

Other than that, I've lived in cream loafers and white converse.

I do need some more sandals, but struggle to find any that are comfy.

I walk a lot and need an open toe as shoes/sandals tend to rub in the hot weather. I wear Ecco sandals a lot in the summer. These Fitflop sandals would fit the bill nicely!

I love my Haviana flip flops. I buy a black pair every year as they go with pretty much everything. They're so comfy and easy to wear all summer

I love ballerina shoes especially for work as they as so comfortable to wear when you are on your feet for hours. These ballerinas are my favourite so comfy

I’d love to try fitflops but I’ve wasted money on so many uncomfortable sandals I’m scared to take the risk. I wear Teva which I know don’t rub and are the only sandals I have that don’t rub. I have brown leather ones that are a bit more stylish than the usual fabric ones.

I've been living in my Animal flip flops and Adidas trainers this summer. If I want to look smart I wear my black Havianas or Ipanemas.

I like the black Mari boots! I'm not really a sandal wearer and stick to boots and trainers normally because I spend so much time walking everywhere!

During the summer months, it is important to give your feet a rest and let the nails breathe. So anything with an open toe.

Unfortunately, the recent trend, during which trainers became fashionable, means that my toe nails are less but pretty after the long and active winter.

I walk about quite a lot so I need a stable sandal or summer shoe. I tend to go from espadrille to trainer. For a sandal I need a strap on my heel to feel secure so I'd choose the Barra sandal from FitFlop

I wear flat sandals, ballet pumps or loafers in the summer. I do too much walking in central London for flip flops to be practical.

I had no idea Fitflop did such a range of shoes - I was amazed to see so many on their website. I really like these navy loafers - smart, practical ,versatile and comfy.

I always go for comfort and coolness in the summer. Nothing worse than being uncomfortable in heat. Sandals and casual shoes are what I go for.
