NOW CLOSED

With a school half term in our midst, you may be thinking about the ways you can keep your children occupied and active. Arla BIG Milk would like to hear about the Big Adventures you have planned or have been on this October half term.

Here’s what Arla Big Milk has to say: “We know how important it is to get your little explorers out in the world around them, so we’ve partnered with Magic Light to bring you yearlong BIG Adventures. From Gruffalo nature trail walks to BIG Adventures craft videos, there’s lots for you and your little one to get involved in. We’re also running an on pack monthly prize draw, available across UK grocery retailers, to give you the chance to win an amazing trip to Chessington World of Adventures. Arla Big Milk is simply fresh whole milk that’s enriched with essential nutrients so if you want to join in on the adventure, come visit our site to explore activities for your half term.”

What days out do you have planned for the half term? Do you have a trip to a theme or adventure park pencilled in? Perhaps you have plans to explore the great outdoors with your children? If you’ve already been on adventures this half term, what did you get up to?

Whatever your half term plans, post them below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

There will be park trips, and a sleepover planned with DD1's BFF. Can't afford to go away, but we'll just make the best of free local facilities Smile

One of our favourite holiday pass times is to get an old roll of wallpaper, and draw round the silhouette of the children. I then cut out, and they decorate themselves. This half term I plan to have autumn leaves to decorate the picture as hair and clothes, with conkers as eyes and bus tickets from our days out as fingers, not only is it a great way to keep them occupied, save memories, I can roll them up, save them and we can look back at what we did and where we went each year.

Spending the time with them, visiting cousins, going to park

Ranita · 22/10/2018 11:20

A nice relaxing half term before the madness of Christmas term! So we are going for walks, watching movies and having a sleepover.

Sparklepants3 · 22/10/2018 11:33

It's the eldest birthday so lots of things planned. Including the thing they are most excited about a trip to see nanny and grandad!

sweir1 · 22/10/2018 11:40

We are planning many days outside

badgermum · 22/10/2018 12:13

We are lucky that the weather looks good this half term so we have been planning an Autumn trip to a secluded beach where my sons love to find washed up things and make a sculpture, we are also planning on a cinema trip and a mini golf in the park game.

southernsun · 22/10/2018 12:49

We are off pumpkin picking and will spend time carving them and decorating the house for our halloween party. We also plan to go explore some local parks and go on a few walks.

HELENSCRESCENT · 22/10/2018 13:34

With it being halloween this half term we have lots of spooky activities planned. We are going to go to a pumpkin patch and choose some pumpkins, go to a country park and take part in the halloween trail, paint some spooky rocks and go rock hiding, trip to the cinema, a day at home doing halloween crafts and a little halloween party

emmav6 · 22/10/2018 13:45

pumpkin picking, decorating, studying ad lots of baking i hope :)

fishnships · 22/10/2018 13:46

Delaying our summer holiday until the October half-term means we've had a long wait, but are lucky to be flying to the Greek islands tomorrow! (and after GCSE's, etc. my DD definitely needs a break).

elbolton89 · 22/10/2018 15:09

Lots of autumn walks and lunches out! Making sure to have a nice resdt before the next half term begins.

hutchina1986 · 22/10/2018 15:51

We are trying to take it easy and not plan too much. Lots of crafts at home and the odd pj day with a couple of good films, our big thing is visiting the Tower of London at the end of the week as our eldest is mad on history but has never been.

LITTLEMUTLEY23 · 22/10/2018 16:07

My DD is going to stay with family for the week. Woohoo!!!

mogloveseggs · 22/10/2018 16:14

Trip to WWT Martin Mere to see the geese arriving on their winter migration with grandma and a trip to the cinema to see johnny english for dd birthday.

cocochips · 22/10/2018 16:18

We will be baking and going on lots of walks

mollymoo818 · 22/10/2018 16:18

We have some lovely Autumn nature walks planned and if it is raining we are going to have some craft and baking days. I am actually really looking forward to it this year.

Goingovertosusanshouse · 22/10/2018 16:19

Visiting family and lots of Halloween crafty activities.

thesockgap · 22/10/2018 17:15

We're going on an overnight trip to visit our eldest who's away at university, other than that just having some downtime - PJ days, games, perhaps a couple of meetups with their friends.

IonaAilidh11 · 22/10/2018 17:45

no plans as such just going to decide in the mornings

Magair · 22/10/2018 18:03

Definitely going to be outside enjoying the weather as much as possible. Went to a bike track today so DS1 could cycle and DS2 could scoot. Tomorrow we are going to our local RHS Garden and doing the Halloween trail. Wednesday meeting friends to try climbing for the first time at a local centre, Thursday we are hitting the cinema a having a "posh lunch" (Pizza Express). Finally Friday will be at home , carving the pumpkins we got from a PYO last week and doing some Halloween crafts, a lovely dog walk and relaxing. I love October half term, it's usually nice to be outside and so much Halloween themed stuff to do.

Well, I only have a few days off so, today I discovered the reason Dd's brand new (legitimately purchased via an eBay shop, sealed in it's box) mobile phone doesn't allow calls or texts in either direction is because it is blacklisted as stolen so, anything I might have done with Dd can now no longer happen due to having to purchase a new one.
Looks like I'll have to do housework then. Dd can do homework and read.
