Receiving a card - be it for your birthday, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Father Days or Easter - that has been specially made just for you can be both heartwarming and humorous...especially if you have a young DC who writes the first thing that comes to their minds. So Card Factory would love you to share the best/funniest personalised cards you’ve ever received.

Here’s what Card Factory have to say: “We know how important finding the right card can be when it comes to celebrating all of life’s moments. This is why we have put together a fab, exclusive range of personalised cards from only 99p! Made and designed by us – with those finishing touches added by you - get great quality without breaking the bank.”

Did a loved one root out some really old and perhaps slightly embarrassing photos of you to plaster all over the card? Maybe your DC wrote a message that was hilariously unfiltered but oh so sweet? Or have you ever received a card that brings back so many great memories every time you read it?

Add your comment to the thread below and everyone will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I remember when I was little that I used to give 'Happy BDay' cards. Which DB thought was hilarious - happy wash your bum day!

My friends and I always use personalised photo cards as a way of forcing the birthday girl/boy to display a hideously embarrassing teenaged pic on their mantlepiece!

We're all mid/late 30s now, so over the years the need for revenge has really escalated!!

The best personalised card I ever received was full of miniature chocolate bars from my son. It went like this .....I did not know what to buy you for your birthday - a ride on a DOUBLE DECKER, or a trip on an AERO plane, or the space rocket to the MILKY WAY, or a trip to MARS, but I looked in my money tin and all I found was some BUTTONS, so I made you this card and hope you have some great CELEBRATIONS. The card was home made and stuck on it were the above chocolate bars - I shared them so don't have a photo of the card with them on . I thought it was so special.

Never received a personalised card and never purchased one either.

However, I do write my own message in any card I give my fiancée.

I think my favourite card i've ever seen was made by my daughter. It wasn't made for me in fact but my Grandad who was in hospital with severe constipation. They had a genuinely beautiful friendship before he passed away- not from the constipation- and laughed a lot with each other. I think that humour they shared is really shown in this card she made him. (picture enclosed)

My 6 year old goes to a church school, last Easter she made a card with a picture of a hot cross bun on the front (she adores hot cross buns) She put in side Jesus died so we could have hot cross buns...I suppose in a round about way her logic is correct, but it still makes me smile every time I see a hot cross bun

The only personalised card I have received would be from my Grandad when I was younger. He used to cellotape a £1 coin to the inside of the card

My husband ordered a card from my son, however he forgot to change the personalised bit on the front so the card arrived from the template "lucy".... it became a bit of a joke and so for fathers day I bought him a card from our son and also a card from "lucy"

I had a card once from a flat mate who did not speak English as their first language- it said “Happy Christmas Grandson” on the front!

Also, less amusingly, I had a birthday card from a member of DPs family shortly after I’d had a baby. They personalised it with a photo of me when I was much slimmer and the wording “soon you’ll be back to your old thin self!” Was gobsmacked and threw it away but wish I’d kept it now!

It wasn’t a card for me but for my husband on Father’s Day made by my daughter who was 5 at the time. It featured a drawing of a figure who was supposed to be him reading a newspaper, and on the top of his head was the beginnings of a bald patch!! We hadn’t realised she had noticed!! Lol 😂

I just gave a personalised card to a friend at work who was leaving and we did a funny sad face with printed message. I think people really appreciated the extra effort taken to do these special wee touches.

Personalised cards just make it feel like someone has gone the extra mile. My sister once made me a birthday card with a picture collage of each year of my life. For one year instead of a picture of me she put in a piglet!

I had a lovely card from one of my children for Mothers Day with a sort of personalised letter inside. It was so beautiful it made me cry.

Mine was the first Mothers' Day after DC2 arrived. After years of sorting lovely personalised cards for everyone else (and only my Mum bothering to do the same for me in return) DH finally pulled his finger out and got a big personalised card with pictures of both DC with me and each other. I was so touched and it's still one of my favourite ever gifts, let alone cards!

I work with Autistic children. My Mum died last year and they made me a card. It was lovely. They had cut out pictures of all the things that were special to me (my dog, favourite band, movie etc) coloured them in and wrote inside.
I cried.

Nothing will ever beat that card.

I've never had a personalised card but wish I had - for our wedding my husband and I received a MRS & MRS card from my uncle and auntie! I don't think they had even considered that such a card existed and just picked an attractive wedding card!
