Receiving a card - be it for your birthday, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Father Days or Easter - that has been specially made just for you can be both heartwarming and humorous...especially if you have a young DC who writes the first thing that comes to their minds. So Card Factory would love you to share the best/funniest personalised cards you’ve ever received.

Here’s what Card Factory have to say: “We know how important finding the right card can be when it comes to celebrating all of life’s moments. This is why we have put together a fab, exclusive range of personalised cards from only 99p! Made and designed by us – with those finishing touches added by you - get great quality without breaking the bank.”

Did a loved one root out some really old and perhaps slightly embarrassing photos of you to plaster all over the card? Maybe your DC wrote a message that was hilariously unfiltered but oh so sweet? Or have you ever received a card that brings back so many great memories every time you read it?

Add your comment to the thread below and everyone will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

This is the first Christmas card my son made at nursery, he is so proud of it and it is one of my most precious possessions. It sat in pride of place on my mantelpiece and now is in my bedside drawer.

My friend sent me an EPIC birthday card last year. She printed out pictures of DH and of our cat, and did some incredibly creepy rudimentary faceswap images with faces just pasted on the wrong bodies. I ROARED with laughter, I'll be framing it when we finish the decorating!

I made my husband a card for his first fathers day with a photo of our son holding a sign saying Happy Fathers Day. It must've taken about 200 photos to get one where the baby was laughing and you could read the sign!

aww ThePug that reminds me of the same thing I did with my 1 year old for my sister's birthday.... so cute!!!

When I was very unwell my two year old daughter made me a get well soon card at nursery. She stuck all of her favourite pictures in it and she was so proud of it. It really made me smile, and I still have it tucked away in my bedside cabinet.

I once received a card from DD addresses to ‘Mother of authority’ now that’s a title I can roll with!

MammieBear · 14/02/2018 09:30

The first birthday card and mothers day card of my children, that was a moment I'll cherish forever brought tears to my eyes ♥

I am unashamedly sentimental, and have a box in which I keep cards that I've received over the last 20 years, from my first Valentine's card as a teenager to those from long-gone grandparents. I think my favourite in recent years was from when we were expecting our first baby - my husband made a card at work with a photo of the first proper scan picture. While I'd normally groan at such a cliche, it was so lovely and brings back memories of the excitement and anticipation of that time!

My DD gave me a birthday card when she was 6. In it she put 'happy birthday. Thank you for not being rubbish and making me toad in the hole'

Back story, she came out of school a few days before my birthday, really excited for toad in the hole. I said 'oh no I am rubbish we have beans on toast instead'
She got home to her favourite tea and said yay, you are not rubbish.
I think she must have written that card that day. Made me smile!
To this day when she I do toad in the hole I tell her 'look mummy is not rubbish today' It used to make her laugh. Now I just get an eye roll!

I've never received a personalised card!!! how sad!

daisyduke66 · 15/02/2018 12:11

I love personalised cards! Homemade cards are always the best although I've had quite a few recently made up for me featuring my dogs...which always, always go down well! Couple the photographs with some well chosen slogans and they're an absolute winner :)

every card from my children when they were small made me smile

Long ago when I hadn’t ever heard of personalised cards, I got a new baby card with a picture of my son inside a heart frame.
I was gobsmacked and cried as it was so lovely.

We sent a violent veg card to one of Dh’s long term single friends, Bob. It was a picture of a cucumber looking at two corn on the cob on a computer screen. The cobs were dressed in lingerie.
It said “Bob had spent all day looking at corn on the internet”
Was very funny and he said it was the best card ever and made him laugh a lot.

I keep my cards as they are memories from the special people who are in my life and mean more than gifts with the thought that is put in with the sentiment. My favourite is one from my dad that has a bird on the front of it and it says that "a little birdy has told me that it is your birthday....and on opening the card it says "but don't worry about it I shot the little F@#$*r so no one else will find out your age" 😆My dad does have a great sence of humour or so he thinks but that card did make me laugh that and the t-bag he had taped inside it saying to get myself a drink on him and a 2p coin taped to it saying don't spend it all at once lol...or groan

My son drew a wonderful Mother’s Day card. On it I was doing one of my favourite activities (as per teachers instructions). I was perplexed until he explained that I was ironing.

Babycarmen · 15/02/2018 21:23

I received a valentines card from my OH not long after we first met saying “I’m ready to stop being Cacti and start being Cactus” and he found the same card this year!

purelaxation · 15/02/2018 22:22

My son made me a card with a beautifully coloured heart, emblazoned with 'happy violent day' when he was 5 years old one Valentine's day. We laugh about it every year!

flummoxedlummox · 15/02/2018 23:30

Years ago a friend gave me a regular sized shop card. When I opened it there was a home made smaller card, and inside that a smaller home made card and so on.

I think it was 5 or 6 cards within cards. The smallest, tiny card, said "this is how our friendship started".

Can't remember the last time I heard from her. Grin

rhinosuze · 16/02/2018 07:16

I got a lovely one from my husband that had a photo of us and his own poem inside

Mozarmstrong · 16/02/2018 09:58

Lovely card from my daughter stickers all over and scribbles just perfect!!

ILikeBigBumpsAndICannotLie · 16/02/2018 17:47

Wasn't for me, but the happy birthday to my wife card, with a picture of an ironing board on it made me laugh for weeks.

I like a photo card with memories of good times together

Callico · 16/02/2018 20:18

The funniest card I received said: Jesus loves you, everyone else thinks you’re a c**t! Grin

Before the economy went to the dogs I would always buy personalised cards, especially for my husband. But my favourite card I ever got was from my second eldest son. He was 12, very quiet, and being soppy wasn't his thing, so I was surprised to see a card bought by him for Mothers day one year.
I opened it up, looking forward to his declaration of love for his Mum!
It read;

Mum

  • J

And that was it.
No hearts, kisses, message, anything, but it meant the world.
He does a lot better these days ;-) x

Not a chance I could post it here but our best friends and us take turns to send each other the most offensively created personalised cards we can. It's very funny but not to be opened in front of the children.
